Have you ever wanted to amaze your friends with what your device can do? now you can with these FlashGadgets! they are simple flash videos, that when launched can make your device look like it has a built-in radar, or other sensors. Feel free to post your own creations as well!
(NOTE: these .swf files work best with the BryhtFlash 2.0 Player)
(NOTE: if the video looks funny because it's on it's side, don't worry, when it's viewed in landscape, it all fits together...)
Enjoy!

Hi Unit ZER0
Dna scanner is very funny
ADM is doing the job, but you could improve the end, instead of staying stuck on a white screen and the only way out is soft reset, why not use it as an alternative device shut down ?
Another idea that my brother and myself have been elaborating on and on: any simple action like pressing a "Yes" for installing a fake software will produce a message "This action will hard reset your device, proceed?" with Yes/No buttons, pressing No produces another window "you have chosen to wipe up all data on your device, are you sure?" and so on until the erase animation showing files being deleted. Add to the panic an "Abort button" that only accelerates the erasing or even starts a new dialogue about the danger of erasing the operating system
Is it possible and can you do it ???

It is quite possible, might take a bit, but definitely possible... I'll see what I can do. Regarding the ADM, if your device has a power button like the X51v, turn the display off, the on again, and the upper taskbar should reappear, and you can then close the program without needing to soft-reset. The trouble with flash files is that though they are versatile, they sometimes won't invoke commands added to them when played on a PPC, since they are usually played on a computer, and the languages, and/or command strings can be different.
Great news, I'm sure it will be a hit
Solved the ADM issue, thanks.

These are not programs. They are flash (.swf) files, and need to be played with an appropriate flash player. For best results, use the BryhtFlash 2.0 player. you can purchase it through Handango, and other online software retailers.
Hey guys, as you may heard, an SDK is released for developers to add to their applications which allows user to do multi-touch things on a device which is equipped with a resistive touch screen, just like our Topazes. Well, it makes us able to do pinch and zoom, rotate to exit and such things. WHAT WE NEED is great application developers to add this SDK to applications just like Manila. Your co-work will be pleased. Here's the link to the thread:
[SDK] Dual-Touch SDK for Resistive Screens V1.0 Beta + Rotation Alpha + Demo App
Regards.
NO ONE??!
Oh, you mean no one is interested??! I got disappointed! It would be a great work to enable multi touch in manila 2.5 for resistive screens...

you cant pinch and zoom a resistive screen, it just thinks you're single touching in between your fingers, try it. This isn't about waiting for a dev kit, it's just beyond the capacity (lol capacitive) of a resistive screen.
edit - I know what SDK you're talking about, and I don't see it being accurate, sorry.
Likewise, I cannot imagine it being possible. It is simply physically incapable of that and may use algorithm instead which may give inaccurate reading.

Then watch this:
Watch SDK Demo Application Video
It's simple: It simulates multi touch. When you point with finger #1 and then after point finger #2, device holds the first point and drags a line from that point to where finger #2 is. And then after releasing finger #2 it returns to finger #1's point. You can see it through notes or manila slider. That's how this SDK came out. It simulates this lining thing and makes device think you are doing multi touch. That's how you can Pinch and Zoom or Rotate to Exit like capacitive screen. But I agree. Since device can't recognize tow different points at the same time (like you said it's technically impossible for a resistive screen) we can't hope for a complete multi touch functioning. But at least we can do those two things I mentioned above.
i find multi-touch useless...its just a 'fancier' way to do things but really its easier the conventional way on ur/my phone. ei: the zoom bar on my htc pure.
i saw the lock video demo but its just faster and easier to lock ur phone the way everyone usually does it rather than having to put both of ur fingers onto the screen and rotating it. i guess this would really depend on wat kind of program the mutli-touch craze would really be of a benefit to. as for the programs thats been developed with multi-touch so far, i dont see much of a use for it. but thanks for making it possible for others to develop more programs with multi-touch.

i tried that long time ago and i found that it still "WORKS" if i slide my finger from 1 corner to the opposite corner. Like the above, i dun think it's practical to use this so called MULTITOUCH kit on a NOT-MULTITOUCH-SUPPORTING resistive screen.
if ppl are so fond of multitouch, they should buy a hd2 instead of trying to implement such a not-too-possible feature on the td2

That is true... But at least we can satisfy our selves that we are multi touching!! It's better than nothing!
Tell HTC to give ATT an HD2 and then you might have a point.
Question - why can't this software be put into the OS so that it just works with all apps doing it like keyboardcontrol is doing - intercept the mouse taps and then based on the application translate the multi-touches into exactly what that application needs - even repeated keystrokes etc - manila could be programmed by page or just one set for the whole app - whatever can work. That would be the killer way to get this into play asap.

Not sure why they are so negative about it, it has been done and proven even as a beta, and from the sdk that was released it seems very likely. I'm not a super cool programmer but I was working on a Mass Effect Codex and I'll try working the multitouch into it if possible, no guarantees tho

It's all great and well to claim that there is no jitter etc on a "standard" resistive touchscreen, but that's a tech demo, it proves nothing for us having these kinds of results, EVEN if that is their goal.
also, watch the video you posted, the guy says it CANNOT be adapted to current touchscreens, it's an additional specification that they implement by working with major screen makers

Thank you for your co-working. I'm a programmer too (C++ language) and I can help.
although multitouch is a great feature , but guys , we have a cool zoombar , that using it is a lot easier than using the screen.
I would love to help with development, but my education of software developer starts in september. I would like to help testing the application on my MDA Compact V.

Hi Guys, here is my first attempt at making an App for the HTC HD2.
There are 3 sounds for each character, 4 for Vader. Keep selecting the character to select the next sound.
This will only work for touch screen devices, i haven't included any code for 4 way button phones.
Hope you like it.
Bollux.
<edit>
Hi all, here's version 2.
I've listened to the requests and added some extra buttons after selecting the character, and hopefully fixed the install to Storage Card option.
Works on my HTC HD2. Should now install to %instdir%\Program Files\StarWarsSounds\ by default.
Regards
Bollux.
WOW! Thank you!
I'm so over the moon with this. I was really hoping someone would do one. Fantastic picture interface, so much fun!!
When you said it was your first app I thought it was going to be really basic - but it's absolutely great. You should post some screenshots!
There just seems to be a minor issue with the sizing of the Luke icon at the bottom that's causing scrollbars to appear on my HD2.
Cheers,
Ian
Screen Shots
Thanks, Here's a Screen Shot on the test Device.
Not sure why the sliders are there, the code to show the pictures should only fill the available screen size. I used the me.width and me.height parameters. The icons are a much better fit on the HD2 screen 480x800.
Vb code used,
PictureBox8.Image = StarWarsSounds.My.Resources.Luke_lg
PictureBox8.Height = (Me.Height)
PictureBox8.Width = (Me.Width)
All the icons are sized with similar code to fit width and height.
'Luke
PictureBox8.Image = StarWarsSounds.My.Resources.Luke_sm
PictureBox8.Height = (Me.Height / 4)
PictureBox8.Width = (Me.Width / 3)
I did take out the keyboard icon toolbar, that shouldn't be there..

Just ran it again and can't recreate the issue I was having (the Luke icon was stretched off screen). It's working fine now. I'll keep playing and see if I can work out a consistent way that recreates it (or maybe it was just my phone going a little loony!)
Minor thing, but I notice that if you tap multiple times (even when a pic is showing?) it queues up all the tap events - it would prob be nicer if it just played one sound at a time and blocked the event listener until a sounds has completed if that makes sense. (Accidental taps cause it to go on a while)
hehe - even the icon in the start menu is cool
Cheers,
Ian
Nice work keep on making more ones!
Not working...
Hi,
being a StarWars Fan for years, I just had to try your app, but doesnt work.
I see the graphics, but when I tap on a picture, I just get a short "beep" and the pic is flashing.
I can play the sounds via MSMediaPlayer w/o probs.
Using Tosh TG01, WM 6.5.5, NetCF3.7
Maybe you find a solution, would really love to use this little prog.
"May the force be with you"
Installed to device memory, still had plenty of space.
I have the latest netcf on an hd2, and I cannot really hear anything.
I see the main screen, click on any character, I see what is a brief flash of a bigger picture (with associated scrolbars around), that lasts a splitsecond, but then the program goes back to the standard view, and all in all i can hear anything.
I can open the files in resources folder ok with nmedia player tho
Hi bo11ux!
Nice Idea! Do you plan to do some Star Trek / Babylon 5 / Battlestar Galactica version of your work? Would love to see that!
Thanks,
Future
installed " STAR WARS SOUNDS " on on my

no problem .... working smoothly..!!
thank you ,

Maybe you use reg edit for non sound notification if change volume system/call ring volume.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\volume] key mute get more than 1
After this i hear the sounds from SW
I have that same problem. Just a short flash of the picture and a little beep. Hope someone has a solution to fix this.
thanks
works great on my sprint diamond wm 6.1 stock rom
hehe, i like this - well done
Thanks, my son will love this! Installed on LG iQ (GW825) in memory, using COM2(21901) custom rom from Dark. Works great!
Works well on my HD2 with stock Telstra 1.72 Rom & Manila 2.5.2012. Worked even better once I took the phone off silent. Oops!! Nice work
Tested and works well in HTC Touch HD.

Hi I have been working with app inventor and Iam trying to make a tiny wings port with this tool.
What I have accomplished so far
1) I have the tiny wings charactor heading downward angeled left when screen starts
2) When the tiny wings charactor lands on the ground , he bounces upward at angle
3) When you press the screen the tiny wings charactor will make a quick dive down.
4) I have a score thats triggered when the bird collides with the ground
5) Reset button to reposition the tiny wings bird.
Need immediate help with
1) Making the screen scroll to the right
2) Making platforms appear as screen goes to the right
3) Who to contact so I can make a larger file size game, so that I can add the music
4) If there is anyone who can make music and sound files smaller and compressed, can I get your email address ?
Need future help with
1) Restart and reset game
2) Change animations
Goal
To show how you can make great games with app inventor by making a tiny wings type clone game. I want app inventor to be put on the map and to further promote app inventor. Anyone who helps with the project will recieve credit and project will be promoted on twitter and facebook when its done. I made an apk so you can test it out the progress so far on your device. I will update the apk as I add more to it.
I havent progressed to far so you can try the alpha version here .
Are there any developers who are experianced with app inventor or just really good coders I could use your help. I just need a couple of things to make this project complete and will give credit to those who help me. Thanks for your time!

Ok I thought the development forum was for any developer related subject. Now I know to post all questions here for the future.
Hi, im taking a look at the game you have sofar, now im not a pro dev but been dabbling in the arts of app inventor for a few months now, the problem is making games do what you want them to, even when your logic seems fair its not always easy to figure out what the issues are,
ill try figure out how to import the apk to app inventor, i dont think you can produce the sorce code from app inventor, however if it looks easy enough to fix i may need a map of your block editor and which components are used!
you can do this by taking a screen shot of your project open onscreen, i can quickly replicate this on my app inventor.
ill let you know what i think once i test this!
thanks
puggz
Edit:
Tested the apk, ike the little bouncy sound, reminds me of angry birds lol
I think the main problem your going to have is making the screen move when the target passes the screen value, quick and dirty ways to do it woud be having multiple screen arangments 12345etc when the target reaches a point on the screen arangment have it switch screen, how to do thes yet is only my basic theory's would need to mess around with the layout for this, another theory could be using thr clock timer to set screen changes, would mean calculating the time needed to pass to next screen, i think this might be a complex task..
another way would be to use an animation to move the screen a sprite function of sorts could work adding landing blocks as sprites to move with screen would need to be done too,
The problem with this its fine for a few sprites but get too complex and it will lag the app to hell,
Since there is no hardware acceleration involved, the trouble with the screen just now is it fills out to the parent, ie the devices set resolution, you could make the resolution wider and enable scrolling, this would in effect mean you could scroll left and right, up and down to the screens set resolution, it wouldent be an automatic procedure, but alot of finger swipeage.
for a basic game i think this might do the trick, just depends really on what you wish it to do really
i have ripped the main elements from the apk, all i would need is screen shots of the block editor and components used in app inventor, and settings used, or a screen shot of this too would be helpfull,
i can mess around with this idea if you like, i cant promise anything amazing but i should beable to atleast work out what needs to be done and if its possible to do in app inventor, certainly in a real sdk its possible
Ill play around with what i have for now, and workout how to implement a moving screen canvas
i think this is the easy part, getting the fixed landing blocks to be in sync may be the issue, anyways
no harm in trying huh!
thanks
thanks for trying and keep going bro you are making our dreams come true:angel:
