I have Htc hero orange uk branded. I unlocked it back in oct 2009 with a unlock code & installing the generic WWE rom on it.
I want to know if i again install the orange WWE ROM on my device, will it asked for the UNLOCK code again?? I lost the previously puchased code.
Build # is 2.73.405.38 CL#70768 release-keys.
Running another ROM RUU will not affect the network unlock. Go for it.

Well guys i totally a newbie to this andrion phones. I have taken one HTC Hero locked to orange network. I manage to unloke my phone with Unlock code purchased online. Now the problem is that whenever i start my phone it asked for the unlock code after entring the unlock code it says network unlock sucessful. But it shows a big red X & saying no service! I tried different sims but the no sucess.
I read different user that claims if u root ur phone and install some other Rom phone start working. Their r different ways of root,i.e Gold pass, cid unlock etc.
My question is that which process to follow & which Rom to install? Should i install the offical Rom

did it yesterday, i installed the latest modaco rom:

also tried the modaco custom rom.. but didn't work, mobile always rebooted, until htc flash screen :=)
good luck tough work to get so far ;=)

it means your unlock was unsuccessful (heres the proof, type 12345678 as the unlock code and see what it tells you )
down to the solution:
its not working because your hero is network branded with their own unlock algorithm. downgrade to a generic Hero ROM using a goldcard (here are the instructions, very straightforward: http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/18/how-to-downgrade-your-htc-hero-so-it-can-be-rooted/). Once on a generic rom, the codes will definitely work. Also you might as well root your phone with MoDaCo's new 2.9 custom rom now that you're 80% of the way to doing it

I have a T-mobile HD2 which i bought from USA. However, right now i am living out of USA, and i need to enter a sim card code for unlocking the sim card. Is there any other ways that i do not have to buy the sim card code? Can i install another rom in this phone? for example, like the rom which is used on the Hong Kong HD2

the stock hong kong rom WILL brick your phone, as will ANY stock rom.
the tmous can only take tmous stock roms, or cooked roms that are specifically tmous compatible.
flashing a rom will not unlock your phone. the only way is code from t mobile, or code from one of the online unlockers. no free unlocking available.
I have a branded Mozart with Orange UK ROM version 7004. I'd like to get it updated to 7392 + have developer unlock, but:
I can get either 7392, or dev unlock using Chevron. When I debrand the ROM, I get version 7389 (or so), but his cannot be dev unlocked by Chevron. When I dev unlock the branded rom with Chevron, it stays 7004 and cannot be updated...
How to solve?

I got an error 191 message during htc dev attempt to unlock my Legend (VF DE).
They said I should first update to
RUU_Legend_Froyo_S_HTC_WWE_3.15.405.6_Radio_47.51. 35.17_7.13.35.05_release_222317_signed.exe ?
After that, try to do the official HTC dev steps with their 3.30xxx ROM
Have you tried updating your phone via OTA? Its been a while since I used sense but it should be in Settings and then System Software updates. Check to see if there's an update for your phone.

Unfortunately not. There is no OTA-Update for my German Vodafone (Froyo 2.2) available. That´s why I try to unlock (HTC Dev) the bootloader to use a another ROM. But I got a 191 error during the Radio Unit Update (RUU) :confused
When you go into the bootloader on your phone, what version does it say it is? Because I think I had a problem like this where it said the update failed but it turned out my HBOOT was 1.02 which is what you need to unlock so I just kept going with the unlock procedure and it worked.

The Software Build on my VF D2 Legend ist Froyo 2.2 (3.14.161.2). On the list at HTCDev there ist is only a version 3.14.161.1 for Vodafone AUT GER Mobilcom. Perhaps thats the error, not having the 161.1 build on the phone

Ok let me get this right, you are still having problems?
you have got hboot 1.02 now, its still LOCKED (look at first line), ok, so all you need to do is continue the htcdev instructions you would have received via email which included an attachment X.bin file if you don't have that email, your probably gonna be in big do do, my understanding is that the bin file is unique unlock file for your phone only.

Brought from Canada this smartphone, he was locked on Rogers Canada. When I put my sim card requires Pin code to unlock the network.
I unlocked bootloader made S-OFF, CID change on the Super CID
I instal a firmware InsertCoin 3.0.8 for Zara_UL (Android 4.4.2 Sense 6.0)
But always requires a PIN code
Someone may suggest what can be do? Or is nothing can be done?
