HTC Weather App Crashing - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
the weather widget keeps crashing on my phone, when i browse to the page with it the up/down arrows don't show how many pages I have i.e 1/4.
if I press the app the full program comes up working no problem, then if I back out of it the widget works normally - however if I boot the phone up and I haven't started the full app, i just want to use the widget - if I try and scroll up or down to view different cities I get:
The application HTC Sense
(process com.htc.launcher) has
stopped unexpectedly. Please
try again.
Then sense crashes and I have to wait for it to load again...
im using the TW 2.1 rom on an Orange branded HTC. This problem only started happening in the last couple of days, I upgraded to the UK unbranded rom and a new radio before I discovered this issue, as soon as I realised I used nandroid to go back, did a full recovery mode wipe plus wipe before doing so, but I still have the same problem!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Up and Running on 6.1 - 2 small issues...

Hi everyone, first and foremost, thank you to everyone who takes the time out to compile all these great resources.
I upgraded using PPCKitchen- and It was a piece of cake. There are only two small issues I seem to be running into right now.
Issue 1: When I go into Settings>Phone and hit the drop-down menu to select a ring tone, its is completely empty. I checked the Windows>Rings folder and it has everything in there. I've tried searching to find an answer but I'm coming up empty right now.
Issue 2: Are there some themes that are incompatible with HTC Home? Sometimes if I change a theme, HTC home disappears and then I can't re-enter the Today Settings without rebooting. I'm guessing that some themes are not compatible and lock up the today settings if I have home enabled.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I actually just realized a third small issue...
I can't enter the HTC Home Customizer...Comes up with the following error message...
"The file 'homecust' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or resotring this file."
I did try reinstalling but it didn't help.
thanks again all.
just as a resource if everybody ever is searching for this same issue...
I figured everything out...
1) Ringer issue: I didn't include Windows Media player when I made my rom- I had to reflash with that included, and that fixed that...
2) Theme issue was related to using themes that were not compatible with HTC Home.
3) Home Customizer wouldn't open because netframework was not installed.
Everything works just fine now.

Thanks for putting up your solutions. Stinks when people don't do that. I had the same #3 problem when I upgraded to dcd 3.0.1. All I did for that was just click the same link (Home Customizer) again and it went through the second time without me having to change anything.

HTC Contacts Won't Link (won't even open)

Hey, guys. I've been having a little issue for the last couple of ROM flashes. Whenever I try to go to my contact links, I get a force close and the notification saying:
"The application People (process com.android.htccontacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I've cleared the data out of the People app and it still happens. I spent some time Googling and found people with a similar problem and a way to fix it, but it doesn't work for me. The workaround they had was to disable auto sync, remove the facebook sync account, go in to People, hit the "world" icon button and re-enable Facebook through there.
There is no such icon on the BAMF Gingerbread remix #5 ROM that I'm running and when I tried it with the froyo ROMs, facebook wasn't an option available to me through that tab.
Anyone have any idea what's going on? It's not the biggest deal that I can't link contacts, but it sure would be nice to have that ability again.

Are you saying that this was happening when you were on stock also, or just the button wasn't there?
It's been happening recently on non-stock froyo ROMs like BAMF and CM7. The button is there (the world button), but there is no facebook option listed like the instructions to fix the problem say there is.
same situation
Hello,
I have the same problem.
After sync I got FC on com.android.htccontacts
It is something related with linked contacts, but I didn't find a way to clear that out.
I've tried also to remove sync acounts like facebook and skype, but it didn't help.
Any ideas would be apreciated.
I am with Alpharev Hboot CM7 r2 table, Clockwork Recovery 3.0.0.5, RCMixS v2.0 Bravo CM7.

Have you been wiping everything when you flash a new ROM. I would try doing a full wipe if you haven't already and try flashing again. Those issue were with the first couple builds..sometimes can be fixed by wiping the calendar stats. If you go into accounts and sync go to each account and see which ones AREN'T actually wanting to sync up. That will narrow it down.
yea I used to have similar problems the only way to get rid of it is by reinstalling the rom but you must wype and clear all data and make sure it is uploaded to the newest radio. If that doesn't work do a restore of your original ROM and try it again but wype everything. do not do it through bootloader useClockworkMod

[Q] Lock screen weather widget cannot get data

I am on CM Super Lite ROM. For the first few weeks the weather data on the lock screen worked perfectly. Then it stopped getting data. It just says "No data - Tap to refresh". When I tap on the icon, it tries to download data but fails and gives the same message.
I tried with automatic location setting and manual location setting and both fails. All other data connections work. So I know that it is not a data connection problem.
Adding to the mystery, I have installed a home screen widget called advanced clock widget. It has a weather feature as well and it also cannot get any data.
I suspect that both software are trying to get their data from the same resource (Yahoo Weather?) and somehow my phone refuses to connect to that resource. How is this possible? Is there anything I can do to investigate this further? I can try a reflash but I am willing to try alternatives first.
My weather widget quit working too. I'm on epinter 10.0

My wife's HTC HD2 weather widget stopped working too. I think this is becoming a cronic problem. I am surprised that this is not widely discussed.
Same on my Samsung i9001 with EHNDROIX II ROM (CM10.1) - I think that Yahoo Weather is the common denominator here and that problem is there...
has anyone been able to get a fix for this issue. I think it has to do with yahoo weather also as mine stopped working a week ago. Is there any way a person can use a different source to get the weather updated? Like instead of yahoo weather can we use like google weather or something else within our lock screen?
This is a known issue. Apparently Yahoo decided to change their weather API.

There's already a fix for those on CM10.1:

But for those of us on CM10 there is no fix yet (as far as I know).

[Q] Unfortunately The Process Com.android.phone Has Stopped

Hello!
Had CM 10.2 latest stable version up and running, in the process of downloading all my apps and restoring some stuff from titan back up. A few things like message/phone contacts said it would require a reboot to show the changes, so I rebooted and got the error
"Unfortunately The Process Com.android.phone Has Stopped"
at the lock screen, wifi on but no phone signal. If I got the chance to hit "ok", it would close and reboot, in a non-stop loop. So common sense told me to do a wipe from recovery and reboot, so I'm back to square one with all my apps and backups.
Some google-fu told me that using titan back up on some "system" backups will cause this loop, and that was the only back up that suggested a reboot, so I have to assume it was that. I never saw this mentioned anywhere during the process, just wondering if there is a way around it? Right now I have no numbers saved or my old conversations, mostly I just want my contacts as anyone can understand. Open to any suggestions!
Google backs up everything if you let it, that's the best and fastest way.
Don't restore system apps or data.
It's better to not restore anything at all, unless you're really lazy and must.

All apps crashing simultaneously on MIUI

Hey there,
I have had this bug since I first officially updated MIUI when I got this phone (ie. first day). Right now I am running MIUI 9 Global Stable 9.0.3.0 (also updated through OTA) which I believed would fix these issues which started occurring since MIUI 8 .
I have tried factory reset (yesterday), without any success (Happened today morning).
It's not exactly reproducible manually, however it happens every morning (which is even more weird) or at least once every day.
Here's what happens:
1: Chrome stops loading web pages. The new tab page is changed to a complete white blank. If you wait for long enough, chrome crashes.
2: Screenshots stop working. Three finger swipe doesn't work, and from the notification shade, the output pic is a black screen. Hence I cannot provide screenshots.
3: Notification tone and Ringtone selection do not play (i.e preview) sounds, rather display a message "Could not connect to the internet".
4: YouTube loads data fine until video playback, at which it crashes after some time.
5: Messaging apps (such as whatsapp, hike) cannot send message anymore, however in some cases can receive messages.
5: Other apps such as facebook, instagram etc also crash and don't load content and crash.
The only fix is to reboot the device. Which is fine, however, it gets rather annoying that it happens every single day.
If anyone has any advice for a fix, I'd be very thankful.
were you able to find some sort of solution to all these problems?
i am having the exact same issue(s) and have looked it up all over the net but still couldnt find anything relevant.
Download official rom from en.miui.com
Place the zip in internal or sd
Open updater and update by zip.
Tht should fix it
If even tht didn't do it the you'll have to unlock bootloader and install a custom rom
P. S even oero custom roms are available
updated through miui updater but the issues still remained.
one thing i noticed is that if u keep on using the phone when app starts to crash without rebooting then after a while systemui has stopped comes up.
more importantly most of these issues appeared while using hike.
i uninstalled hike to see if a third party app could be interefering with the background processes and voila!
no hangups/app crashes/network problems for 2 days straight.
thanks anyways.
Yep, uninstalling hike fixed the problem for me.
Pretty weird how hike can crash miui haha
The same problem
Hello, guys! I have the same problem and it's annoying. What is hike? Where I can find it? Did you mean "hike: payments" from Play market?

hike is a messenger similar to Whatsapp. If you don't have it installed, your problem is different from ours, which was fixed by uninstalling hike.
