Where can I find and how do I use the program you are referring to?

same place as most other things in this world of ours

in windows\startmenu\programs the shortcuts are located
if you look at the properties of those programs you have uninstalled you can see where the program is located and you can delete it yourself if you like
Thanks, it seemed to do the trick. By the way, I don't really know how to manage my memory. It seems to be getting used up rather quickly. Is there some way I can move certain programs to a storage card or something to free up memory but still have full function of the software? I'm new to this. Thanks
well when you install the programs it ask you if you want them to install at the default location (that is if you install them using activsync)
if you say no you get the option of installing them to your sdcard
if you want to try it with already installed programs you could try
to move them and change the target in the shortcut
just make sure you recall where you moved them from if it dont work
and you like to move them back to get them working again
After deleting the file I was having problems with from windows I now am getting an error message: Cannot execute/Windows/StartMenu/Programs/IRKeybd.exe
I deleted the file, I thought. How do I fix this. Its messing up my imate.
when do you get that error ?
because if you get it after a softreset there may be a shortcut to it in windows\startup
I get the error all the time. It will come up randomly. There are usually about 14 pop up windows notifying me of the error. I looked for a short cut but don't know if I'm looking in the right place.

Can you choose which program to install upon hard reset?

THere was a soft-reset trick I use to do (thanks for xda-developers.com) to sift out unwanted useless programs in my deveice. Is there a hack or something that would do the same for the atom?
I think It's possible. if you put cab file in the hidden partition.

Can't remove Airscanner Update Package

Hi,
Once I installed Airscanner on my HTC S740. On the first run an update was installed. Now I deinstalled Airscanner via remove software (before the udpdate). Now the update is still listed in my installed programs list. I can't remove it. It says that it removes it from the liste but it's still there. Check registry start keys: nothing in. Nothing to delete on the device. Searching the registry: no hit found regarding 'Airscann'.
I'd like to remove it from the installed programs list. Could someone instruct me how to find the related registry settings for? Any other tipp?
Claus Schiroky
I had the same problem. And I did not find a solution. Fortunately, I had to do a hard reset and now everything is ok.

[Q] Start-up editor

I have been using S740 for mainly GPS and I was wondering, is there any way to edit the applications that open up at start up?
I have Garmin Mobile XT for this phone so when ever I switch on my phone, I want this application to startup immediately.
I have searched google on how to but it couldn't help me. All I know is that I will have to play a bit with the registry in order to do that. I have Resco explorer with me so anyone can help me out?
Thanks
Application to edit startup : http://www.fewbits.com/startmgr/
You can just use any kind of file explorer and add Garmin's shortcut at the "startup" folder ( \Windows\StartUp )....
The best file explorer I can suggest you is "TotalCommander" : http://www.ghisler.com/smartphone.htm
Good luck
Thanks for the reply, sasiskas. I will try this out tomorrow and post how it performs
Great software, Startup Manager works great. I could add my program easily. Thanks again. But I am facing one problem. The SMS/MMS Window pops up after I switch on my phone. How do I remove that? And also I don't use a sim card for this phone so I also get a notification for SIM Failure at start-up. How do I remove that too?
"tmail.exe" is responsible for your sms/mms window...Try to find it using the program I told you...check everywere(when in the program press "menu"-startup/services/user notification)
As for the sim Failure I don't know...probably you will find it if you look in "menu-user notifications" in the program.
If you can't find anything there...then try downloading SKTools and go to "maintenance-windows startup"
Thanks again, sasiskas. But my ActiveSync says now failed to connect. Due to this I'm unable to install SKTools

what did you edit?
If you go to communication manager-connection there is an option that allows your device to work as a flash drive..do that and then move the sktools.cab file to your device and then from the device execute it.

couple of ideas:
1- to post a pic-- put the url here but with a space somewhere; people will figure it out.
2- what program?
3- you have turned the phone off/on?
4- try to reinstall the program and then uninstall...
we'll figure it out...

2. I uninstalled many programs and I don't remember which program was here
3. Yes. I have
4. I don't know which program
to just remove the quicklink, open file explorer, navigate to device/ windows/ start menu. long press on the offending icon, press delete.
I can't see this empty icon in windows/start menu/programs
I installed SKTools and this application found 2 bad shortcuts
\windows\AUXPGA_App.Ink
\windows\Equalizer_App.Ink
both are linked to target: \windows\AudioCapture.exe
I tried to delete both bad shortcuts by SKTools but unsuccessfully
those shortcuts will not be in the start menu, look at the other forum thread we were communicating through.
did by chance on your 9 quick links have an audio recorder of some type there??????
give me you answer in the other forum if you would please

Both files are placed at Windows folder.
Now my question is how to delete these files? Because files placed at Windows/ cannot be deleted (options like Delete/Rename etc. are inactive (grey))
have you tried a registry editor to delete them? (e.g. total commander?) if not, try that (allows different things than file explorer.)
I have tried to use Total Commander and it says the files cannot be deleted
It seems that only solution is hard reset and I can't do this because all things and settings will be deleted and it cause more problems than one inactive link in quick menu... I hope I find a better solution in the future.
Anyway thanks for your effort to helping me with this issue.
Greetings from Czech Republic
Mike
I solved this problem!
I installed Co0kie's home Tab + CHTeditor.
In CHTeditor: Menu --> Remove dead quicklinks
