glossy and translucent, like these
numbers?
Is there some easy way? I'm trying to use Gimp and I am apparently too stupid to figure it out.
Would also like to know how to do this......
make the fill 0% but keep your opacity at 100%...numbers are just embossed so do that as well...save it as a png image file
Edit: that's what you would do in Photoshop not sure if you can do that in GIMP but if you can...AWESOME!!!
thanks man ......
Using what you said, I was able to make this.
Then I was able to overlay it on another clock face to make this.
Kinda okay. I still have to figure out this whole glossy look thing.
Anyway, thanks for the help!
I'm not exactly sure how I did it but now I've got it looking like this.
I think that's as good as it's going to get.

I came across this picture and a few thing about it really baffle me. For example, I do not understand how it is possible to have clock and other such information at the bottom. In addition, there seems to be a 'page-flicking' tool at the bottom, which I suppose it means it is some kind of new UI/Launcher, but I am not sure which. Finally, I really like the weather program implemented, but I do not know its name.
Any help would be really appreciated.

As you can see, i left an area blank and this is where my picture will go. It's an image i've created that simply says "Games".
I have 2 problems with this.
1. When i try placing the picture, the dimensions come out really weird... as you know when you put a picture in your background you have to decide how you want the picture sitting with the dimension box.
confused? like this...
and yes, i have tried those sizes lol.
For those of you that are fimiliar with the AccuWeather widget when you first purchased the phone, i want the image to come out exactly like that... a perfect horizontol picture.
2. My second problem is, i can't seem to put pictures on my phone that have transperancy? the transperant area always comes out black.
Thank you, highly appreciate any help i can get.
I'd like to edit our digital clock APK like in this thread for the Skyrocket -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419584 -- so that we can use it on the Note. I'd like to have the clock blue instead of green. I used APKMultiTool and decompiled our digital clock apk and looked around to try to find where to edit the color of the date/time. I looked in the res folder and found several xml files I looked at with notepad c++ but not having much luck. I'm trying to learn but if someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
Nunn has a pretty nice little video. If you are just starting out this is a good video to watch.

If you want it without the white outline just make the 'bg.png' transparent
Flash it via CWR
any chance........
any chance someone would make the date white, leaving the stock background stock and not transparent?
so i extrcted a couple of systemUI.apks and combined the files i wanted into one another...question is A) can it be that simple and B) how do i recompress it. i tried with ESfile explorer to recompress but i dont think thats right. I dont like asking folks to make things for me and would like to learn how to myself. thanks for the help
edit: all im doing is replacing png files. nothing major. just need to know how to get it back to a workable APK
Never mind. I figured it out... Now running an ICS themed with (halfway functional) blocking mode (thanks adrynalyn) and WiFi toggle with location symbol removed, status bar and pull down. also thanks to icedventimocha for the theme i pulled the pngs out of.

ok, ive looked around for a while now and it doesnt seem as though anyone has set up any tutorials or any mods that can alter the notification bar on the lockscreen.
there are quite a bunch that have it discussed after its unlocked, but what i am wanting to do is modify the notification bar while its still closed. if anyone has a direction or file i could look at that would be greatly appreciated.
I dont need nor want it done for me. I know how to make items transparent once i find them, its just knowing where to go first....
thanks
Ok...so looks like im not the only one who doesn't know...lol
How about what xml files run the lockscreen on touchwiz? Im also looking to change up some text. But every one I've tried hasn't done anything. ..
