[RADIO] New N1 Radio 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04 - Nexus One Android Development

Hi guys,
The new Korean ROM contains a new baseband firmware. The version is 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04.
The version is identical to the one contained in the newest Desire 2.2 update. This might be the key to 720p on the Nexus One/Froyo.
This update.zip doesn't have the HBOOT as I have no idea how it impacts the rest of the phone and the flashing/downgrading capabilities of the phone.
THIS RADIO CAN BE FLASHED ON ANY NEXUS ONE!
Tested on a T-Mobile version (900/AWS/2100 MHz, European version).

It just works, camcorder and camera still works properly, no need to update the Camera APK.

Can this be bundled into a package with the SPL as well?

The radio we already have can do 720p. It came with frf50. This might be the Korean version is it

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698287

Can you post a check sum if the file please?

Try the attached ZIP.
I did NOT try this ZIP file. I found another spl updating zip for the HTC Dream and bundled the hboot.img from the Korean ROM. USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION! I don't know if it verifies the HBOOT before so be VERY, VERY CAREFUL. You could end up with a brick.

As stated in the OP, it IS indeed from the Korean ROM. This might just be optimized for 720p in Froyo... We never know.

I know this. I'm just stating that the Desire can do 720p on Froyo with this. This, with careful decompiling on libraries from the Desire ROM, can probably lead to (better, maybe) 720p recording.

I think all Nexus Ones are 900/1800 GSM. The only thing that changes is the 3G. If you mean 900 MHz 3G though, I guess it will work, since I'm using an European Nexus One. I cannot vouch for it though, so try with caution. I don't think there are differences in radios, but I can be wrong.

Flashed and working well..
Thanks for the help mate!

feedback
anymore feedback on this radio? battery life? reception?

Flashed (via Amon) on my at&t version, Bell Canada carrier, all is well here...
2.7d /1.8u on speedtest
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App

can anybody tell me how to install it?
just flashing via recovery? got error..

So is this safe to flash yet? I'm on cm6 rc1 using a T-Mobile USA n1.
To those of you that have flashed it, any differance in data speed and reception?

Any chance of bricking my device if I flash only the radio without any SPL?

There is always a chance of bricking when flashing a radio.

I have several reports of it working perfectly even without flashing the new SPL. Some people flashed the SPL and it seems very hard to downgrade, and make you unable to downgrade the actual Android OS. I upgraded myself the radio through the zip I published in the OP, with no visible problems.
So I don't think there's any risk of failure because you don't flash the SPL too.

Disregard.

[FAQ]
Q. Will this update erase my data (contacts, messages, etc...)
A. No. The update only overwrites the radio part of the Rom. But better safe than worry, it's always recommended to have a backup of your data when you're modifying stuff on your device.
Q. The Rom Update Utility wants to update my device to 1.00.000.0. Is that right?
A. Yes. The RUU doesn't show the radio version, it will only show your rom version in the "from" box.
Q. Which version do you recommend?
A. It seems that 3.54 uses up more battery than the others, but not for everybody. I say try the latest, if you find it eats up battery then flash 3.53 which works great.

All radio roms are in .nb, format, which means they are ready to be cooked but I believe cannot be flashed to update the radio only. I'll update when I'm sure.

Even a better idea!!!
Thx!
Observation
For me (orange network in RO) radio 3.54.25.25 is better comparing to 3.53.25.20:
much better signal for gsm(same places for both) and (maybe, I'll keep an eye on it)) better signal for wi-fi...
I'm testing with orange network in France, 3.53.25.20 was already pretty good.
I also found these 3.49.25.05 and these 3.50.25.15. Not sure whether it's worth going through the trouble of downloading/extracting/converting to nbh/uploading as they are probably older, and nobody will be interested.

Another good idea, I agree!
updated title to show latest radio
3.53.25.20 has better battery life compared to 3.54.25.25.
though 3.54.25.25 has better receive with phone and wifi(so if you don't have any trouble with these I recommend 3.53.25.20)
That's just great man!! Thanks for your effort to put them all together here!!
Thanks for this post.

No. What I meant was that they used to be in .nb format which is ready to be cooked using a kitchen, but I've made them into nbh files which can be flashed which custom flasher (which doesn't recognize .nb files)

Also I haven't updated as I haven't had any issues with my current radio, is it advised for me to update even though I've had no problems?

Need for speed in 3D is pretty good!. Controls are different but you get use to it. There are different 3D settings too, though no 3D slider.
You can select in car. Out of car "depth" and out of far "pop up" 3D. Very nice touch. Runs well too.

Is it just me imagining things, or has the update made the phone a little faster and more smooth? That's the only difference I've noted besides the games and an updated market. (3.1.5)
Now the bad news... The bootloader has been updated to 49.00018 and when I tried rooting it with Revolutionary, it wasn't compatible with that version.
So hopefully they'll update revolutionary soon. I'll try rooting it with HTCs unlocker tonight, and will report back...
my phone is more smoother and faster than before, nice update

[Q] What can we or can't we flash on our HTC Ones?

What stuff is compatible for our At&t htc one's from the regular htc one forum, and what stuff is incompatible.
Should I treat the bootloader unlocked version of att htc one as the same as the international, or should I only install stuff from the att htc one forum?

I am running ARHD 7.0 with no issues at all, however I did flash the latest radio posted in the international forum, this was prior to learning that there is really no reason to at this point. Attempted to roll back to the backup of the original radio.img that I captured prior to upgrading (just for comparison purposes), however my build number still shows 1.29.401.12. My question is, is the build number derived from the ROM and the baseband version derived from the radio.img?
Correct.
got it, thanks. that explains why my baseband is not changing, its the same radio lol
Have any of you had any issues regarding flashing a rom? I have been reading some of the rom threads and it seems some have issues with Aroma or the rom's flash, however, then they cannot get their phones to boot. I want to flash one but I do not want to have any of those issues, as I already had a problem with recovery.
I sometimes have trouble with aroma with my HTC DNA, which is similar to the One. With me it sometimes freezes if I don't hold the device straight. Why... I have no idea. However, when this does happen I return to recovery via the pwr+vol and redo the process. It doesn't hurt anything for me just takes a bit longer. I've ordered the one and I'm definitely planning on flashing all types of stuff when out gets here Wednesday God willing. Just be sure to backup. That's saved me countless times.

I mean when you flash arhd that has latest firmware, your baseband still says 1.26 instead of 1.29?

I would kick in 5 bucks if someone would post the stock radio in a TWRP / Philz's flashable format confirmed working.
Would also kick in another 5 bucks if someone in a plain manner.
My HBoot is 3.116.0.0000
Radio: 1.14.21331931.LA21G
Could be cool to understand how to upgrade this through a simple RUU flash rather than S-ing ON and all that stuff.
Thanks!

Can you explain what you did to flash it? Fastboot flash does not work even thought I am superCID
and as the user above states it flashes in recovery successfully however, the baseband does not update in about.
fyi the tmobile radio attached in the M8 thread is 75 mb and my friend said his verizon radio is 42 mb the attached ATT radio is only 4 mb. I dont think this is the right file/radio. My friend and i tried to manually flash the radio.img and the phone didn't receive any reception and under baseband it said "unknown" i flashed back the 1.54 radio.
***EDIT*** If you download the T-Mobile radio and flash it in recovery it works fine:

Alright guys so i got ThrasherSC2K2's AT&T radio.img to flash properly thanks to the help of russellvone. Here's what we did. I'm NOT responsible for any damage
1. First download this file http://d-h.st/FNq
2. Put the radio.img file into your ADB folder
3. Open up command prompt and copy and paste the EXACT lines
4. adb push radio.img /storage/sdcard0/radio.img
5. adb shell
5. su
6. dd if=/storage/sdcard0/radio.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p20
7. adb reboot
and then voila you will be on 1.14.21331931.LA21G_20.28A.4145.00L

when you execute a RUU, it gives you all the instructions, as well as what to do in case of error messages. as far as this specific RUU not being able to run on your computer, I'd say try to re-download, I haven't personally used it, but it comes directly from HTC, I didn't touch it in any way.
I can say it worked for me and I'm back to using stock.

will flashing with this cause me to lose s-off? I am on hboot 1.55. I have superCID, hboot 1.55 and s-off.
Does anybody have this as a flashable zip file? I'm trying to get ISIS working on some of the newer roms but think i need some files off of this rom. Or even, if somebosy who flashed this can post a set of files for me that would be awesome. The files I need are:
From /system/app/:
Nfc.apk
SmartcardService.apk
From /system/etc/:
nfcee_access.xml
From /system/framework/:
org.simalliance.openmobileapi.jar
From /system/lib/:
libnfc.so
libnfc_jni.so
libnfc_ndef.so
Thanks!

You can get a nandroid copy here. Or you can pull those files out of the OTA.

no idea, but whatever your current hboot is, this would change it since it resets your phone to stock.

Try the Manual Method in this post! This is a Windows issue.
Thank you very much!
I was on ARHD 71.1 and looking to return to stock. Can't tell you how much time was wasted trying to flash other RUUs or even download this from slow sources.
Worked like a charm.
THANK YOU!!
god bless you for posting this!! I had rooted my phone over 7 months ago and i hated it!!.. My htc one m7 started glitch out so badly! It was soo hard to find ruu to convert my phone back to stock until i found this! Thank you! My phone is fully updated with the latest features.
I'm currently in a SkyDragon GPE rom 5.1.1 on HBoot 1.61 with S-ON. Will I be able to flash back to 4.4.2 OEM? or anything?
