[FAQ]
Q. Will this update erase my data (contacts, messages, etc...)
A. No. The update only overwrites the radio part of the Rom. But better safe than worry, it's always recommended to have a backup of your data when you're modifying stuff on your device.
Q. The Rom Update Utility wants to update my device to 1.00.000.0. Is that right?
A. Yes. The RUU doesn't show the radio version, it will only show your rom version in the "from" box.
Q. Which version do you recommend?
A. It seems that 3.54 uses up more battery than the others, but not for everybody. I say try the latest, if you find it eats up battery then flash 3.53 which works great.

All radio roms are in .nb, format, which means they are ready to be cooked but I believe cannot be flashed to update the radio only. I'll update when I'm sure.

Even a better idea!!!
Thx!

Observation
For me (orange network in RO) radio 3.54.25.25 is better comparing to 3.53.25.20:
much better signal for gsm(same places for both) and (maybe, I'll keep an eye on it)) better signal for wi-fi...

I'm testing with orange network in France, 3.53.25.20 was already pretty good.
I also found these 3.49.25.05 and these 3.50.25.15. Not sure whether it's worth going through the trouble of downloading/extracting/converting to nbh/uploading as they are probably older, and nobody will be interested.

Not entirely true, I've read about people using older vers. of radio for various reasons(not important)...
Again, tyvm for your work!

Uploading the final two I know of
maybe it would be good to have a sticky

Another good idea, I agree!

updated title to show latest radio

3.53.25.20 has better battery life compared to 3.54.25.25.
though 3.54.25.25 has better receive with phone and wifi(so if you don't have any trouble with these I recommend 3.53.25.20)

That's just great man!! Thanks for your effort to put them all together here!!

Thanks for this post.
All in one!!!!!
Very nice!

No. What I meant was that they used to be in .nb format which is ready to be cooked using a kitchen, but I've made them into nbh files which can be flashed which custom flasher (which doesn't recognize .nb files)
will edit first post so that it is clearer
cheers

Mirrored the files on ym server so people can used them. But only isted on the Wiki as I cant external link on the forum.
Also I haven't updated as I haven't had any issues with my current radio, is it advised for me to update even though I've had no problems?

Hi,
Just downloaded & installed the latest radio. Hard-reset & fully charged my Mega.
will let you know the outcome soon..

Any FAQ for doing Upgrades w/o using the Lumpi kitchen?

Hey folks,
I've looked around this forum for a while, and like most I found Lumpi's kitchen, but has anyone written a doc on how to build your ROM manually? This kitchen is great however, some of the items are not reflecting the newest version of software (ie TotalCommander released 2.0, the kitchen still has 1.21, etc). and I might want to put some software into the core that is not available on the Kitchen.
Rather than pester Lumpi on this, I thought I would go at this manually (You might tell me this is a crazy idea, I donno). :?
An FAQ or something that maybe someone's written a step-by-step on the core issues. If not, I can live with the kitchen (maybe I'll pester Lumpi after all)
Thanks folks....

Tried to write a little howto....

Hey Stephan,
Thanks. That was great info. Looks like there's quite a bit to do to make this work. I started to run through this, but looks like I may have way too many questions to pester you with. Step 6 and 7 dealing with File settings and Registry settings, I would not even know what to put in there.
I also downloaded a set of tools found on one of the FTP sites here in the forum (XDATools.zip, etc) but didn't know if any/all of these needed to be used or not. I thought I had also read at one time a GUI kitchen so to speak that would kind of walk me through the process, I'm guiessing not.
I'll try your kitchen (which, btw, is still the greatest thing since sliced bread). Would you be updating the TotalCommander(2.0) with the new version anytime soon?
Thanks again Stephan....

These are the same setting, that are required to include a program to the kitchen. I´m doing it this way:
- Using ssnap to make a snapshot of my device
- install new program
- Using ssnap to make a snapshot of my device
- Compare the two snapshots ....

Thx a lot for the compliment. Will try to update TotalComannder this week.
Are there some other applications that requires a update on the kitchen?

Thought you would never ask
1) VNCViewis on your site, but points to an old link. The current link (officially) is www.realvnc.com, however, there is not a PPC/WINCE version there. To get the PPC version, go to here http://www.cs.utah.edu/~midgley/wince/vnc.html
2) RemoteDisplay is a utility use to be put out by Microsoft, but cannot find online any more. I still have the executable, but did not find a link to point you to. If interested, I can forward.
3) Weatherpanel 2.3.0 from www.Marsware.net weather program. Great program, and cheap too ($10 US) for a lifetime of upgrades.
4) PocketTV is at version 1.1.1 (which may be what you inteneded, but the kitchens says 1.0.11)
I'll look thorugh a little more tomorrow and update my post with what else I find. From reading your previous post, adding new apps is not a simple task, so I'll try to refrain from that
Thanks Stephan...

This program requires evb Runtime (2,5 MB) and the zip file to download is about 4 MB. So i believe it's also to big to include it in the ROM....
Stefan
You're right. Plumbing Pete doesn't appear to be available any more, but his site does not state he "pulled" it off of the market so, I found an active link here: http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/files/PlumberPeteFREE.EXE
However, it requires 1.4 Mb of space to install, so I would disregard.
However, I did find PacMan 1.0 by Namco for PPC, 252k total space taken, available here ftp://ftpclubic1.clubic.com/temp-clubic-rx1422/logiciel/Pac_Man_pour_Pocket_PC_1.0.zip. Even though this site is in French, this is an English version program.

WinRAR for Raresoft.com is available here: http://www.rarsoft.com/rar/pocketrar350.exe. It will handle RAR and ZIP files. It's freeware and takes up about 305kb.
Well, that's a pretty good start. I've been going through several sites worth of PPC stuff (trying to stay w/freeware), and if I find some more stuff that would be worth mentioning, I'll let you know.
Thanks

You need to reflash with a different ROM. There's plenty of discussion about it in the ROM section - there are a number of builds that, unwittingly, have been based on a leaked beta release that has a timeout at the beginning of March.
Simply install the latest Stock ROM, or choose an alternative cooked ROM.
Cheers,
Steve.

Hi everybody,
Im trying to reflash Raphaels ROM by using memory card, but I can not find RAPHIMG.nbh
Can you please help?

When you d/l a rom the nbh file needs to be renamed to RAPHIMG.nbh then load it to the sd card and flash.

also do you mean you just want to hard reset?
like make it the way it was when you first got it?
just hold down the down volume key and the enter button whilst pushing the reset button and wait for the screen to say warning this action will revert to default blah blah
Look,

Sorry Im noob, I have my Raphael just 2 days.
Not that I doubt you, but how exactly did you perform the hard reset, and what happened? Did you see the bootloader screen?
edit: Forgot about the March 1 crash...
You should not be cross posting.
Hold Volume down and reset. You will go to bootloader. Plug in USB and flash from there. No need to sd flash.

Unless it's a used Raphael, you need to flash hard spl before you flash any roms onto it, and you need to flash hard spl through an active sync connection. Read the relevant stickied threads before you do anything.

Just pick any of these threads that begin with [ROM]. My personal favorite is aruppenthal's; it's as perfect as I've seen. Get the RRE v 4 FINAL 2 WITHOUT OPERA in post #3, then install opera separately.
Problem solved.
After reflashing rom by using memory card was everything OK.
Thanks to all for helping.

@ OP, while everyone here is happy to help you really need to do a little more research on your own before postinf questions to such common knowledge. You got half way there on your own and I think you were just a few more posts of reading away from the solution you needed (for both original threads).

Very Close But Not The Same.
I Don't know how to change an "OFFICIAL Shipped ROM" and keep it official if you do let me know and we can make some money!!!!!
......................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Its Not the Same ROM So please Stop Trolling or I will Ask Dave Shaw to Shut You Down.
I don't see GB=(GREAT BRITAIN) Listed On The Official HTC Website As A Country All I See Is United Kingdom=(UK)
So Im Not Sure your GB ROM ZIP File is Official, The UK ROM I Uploaded However is an Official RUU .EXE
I'm not going to waste time arguing anymore if you want it download it if you don't then that's your affair, These however are not the same ROM'S
Why put an official in a zip?
Oh because yours is a dump ROM right and The one I posted is an "OFFICIAL" RUU.exe wm6.5 Update
No disrespect DaveyNavy - but BeeGee is a well respected member of this forum and has been compiling all of the custom and official roms on his own file mirror.
His questions as to what exactly your file is - are totally valid - and I think you should be a little more tollerant in your replies.
I had the official UK TD2 rom which was the UK one - as an update from T-mobile - but I am pretty sure it is identical to the dumped GB rom that BeeGee pointed out.
On an official UK T-Mobile device - you can use the update RUU that DaveyNavy posted without needing the HardSPL since it is an official update for a locked offical device.
Once you have HardSPL'd your device (and basically what the majority of us on this board have done) it therefore doesnt matter whether you use either.
I hope this helps.

[RADIO] New N1 Radio 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04

Hi guys,
The new Korean ROM contains a new baseband firmware. The version is 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04.
The version is identical to the one contained in the newest Desire 2.2 update. This might be the key to 720p on the Nexus One/Froyo.
This update.zip doesn't have the HBOOT as I have no idea how it impacts the rest of the phone and the flashing/downgrading capabilities of the phone.
THIS RADIO CAN BE FLASHED ON ANY NEXUS ONE!
Tested on a T-Mobile version (900/AWS/2100 MHz, European version).

Try the attached ZIP.
I did NOT try this ZIP file. I found another spl updating zip for the HTC Dream and bundled the hboot.img from the Korean ROM. USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION! I don't know if it verifies the HBOOT before so be VERY, VERY CAREFUL. You could end up with a brick.

As stated in the OP, it IS indeed from the Korean ROM. This might just be optimized for 720p in Froyo... We never know.

I know this. I'm just stating that the Desire can do 720p on Froyo with this. This, with careful decompiling on libraries from the Desire ROM, can probably lead to (better, maybe) 720p recording.

I think all Nexus Ones are 900/1800 GSM. The only thing that changes is the 3G. If you mean 900 MHz 3G though, I guess it will work, since I'm using an European Nexus One. I cannot vouch for it though, so try with caution. I don't think there are differences in radios, but I can be wrong.
Flashed and working well..
Thanks for the help mate!
feedback
anymore feedback on this radio? battery life? reception?
Flashed (via Amon) on my at&t version, Bell Canada carrier, all is well here...
2.7d /1.8u on speedtest
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
can anybody tell me how to install it?
just flashing via recovery? got error..
So is this safe to flash yet? I'm on cm6 rc1 using a T-Mobile USA n1.
To those of you that have flashed it, any differance in data speed and reception?
Any chance of bricking my device if I flash only the radio without any SPL?
There is always a chance of bricking when flashing a radio.
I have several reports of it working perfectly even without flashing the new SPL. Some people flashed the SPL and it seems very hard to downgrade, and make you unable to downgrade the actual Android OS. I upgraded myself the radio through the zip I published in the OP, with no visible problems.
So I don't think there's any risk of failure because you don't flash the SPL too.
Disregard.

[TOOL] Titan Advanced RUU

1. Possibility to choose one from several NBH files. Files should be placed in one folder with utility.
2. Possibility to choose the way (option) of flashing
3. Possibility to get NBH file info (Modification date, Model ID, CID, Version, Lang, Chunk size)
Regular RUU (Task 28)
Hard Reset is performed straight after flashing automatically (good for NBH containing OS section)
Custom RUU (Task 00)
to install only radio roms without performing hard-reset.

Custom ROMs can be flashed if HSPL is installed to device (no idea when it will be ready or published)
Utility was tested with official Titan roms - thanks to AndrewSh and Feropont
ATTENTION! Unskilled interference to your phone's OS can totally crash your device.
If you understand what are you going to do - go ahead.
No warranty.... use on your own risk.
thanks alot barin.
Thank you buddy, good job
Excellent and very convenient tool - thank you very much my friend.
For those who will use it with official nbh - remember that process is "freezing" at 5% - re-flashing spl - so don't worry - just wait with patience. It will continue faster after spl update.
Also remind - how to get to bootloader mode - switch the device off, press and hold Volume Up and Down simultaneously and turn the device on. Then connect USB cable.
Titan Advanced RUU and nbh file should be placed in one folder on your PC.
Thank you, good job
Thank you , good job
Thank you so much!!!!
hi, sorry for the question but with this tool, does it mean that i can flash a taiwan ROM on my european htc titan ? or is it still restricted to the only ROMs from europe ?
xtrememanix, this tool is just Update utility - flasher. You should wait for HSPL to flash another region to your device.
Man... seem that HSPL for HTC Gen2 is coming!!!! LOL.

No info, dude, if it's coming or not.
Actually Titan Advanced RUU has no connection to HSPL discussions ans speculations. It's the same situation as with OsBuilder - current public version supports WMSTORE (second gen devices rom structure) but there's no way to flash custom second gen roms.
nice tool..thx4that....yeah thats right..building a rom is not the problem...the bootloader is it..hmm...someone here can contact cotulla or other people from the dft team 4 some news?..
Sent from my OMNIA7 using Board Express
So with task28, when it finish flashing ROM to my Titan, and just wait to config into WP7? Don't need hard reset anytime by myself?
Little confusing
My ways of flashing ROM:
Using RUU to flash
After finish. Turn off device and Hard reset it.
With Task28 i dont have to Hardreset anymore, right?

GinCifer, if you have a desperate wish to perform one more hard reset manually - go ahead. But it's not necessary.

tried it. it stopped at 5% on phone, 6% on PC. must be my Radar... tried using a Radar RUU with same luck. my Radar won't boot out of the Bootloader. had ordered a y-cable, was going to try Goldcard method.
