when you call someone dialer overlap doesnt exist however when you want to save a phone number that time dialer overlap problem occurs anyway to fix this problem?

thanks a lot my friend I know this cab file but if you read it carefully my message you will understand my exact problem.it only occurs when you wanna save a contact to phone and I already installed this cab
I did read your message . Very strange that it only happens when trying to save though. Sorry not sure what else it could be.

Not that I'm aware of... I've not seen this in any 2.1 ROM, but I'll check out the apk for anything in the smali code

Cheers, it's not just me though is it? As when you choose which contact type to view under contacts it won't show the facebook contacts etc but if you view them from the dialler then all are still visable....

I have exactly the same issue, the facebook contacts dont show in the phonebook but show in the dialer?! Yet to find a way to stop them from showing.
I'm running VillainROM 12 btw, and apart from this little gripe the ROM is awesome!!!

its also show sim contracts which are not in the people program. I turned of the view in people as im on o2 and they have preinstall number for bolts on and stuff like that but there still in the dialer and even if i delete them from the sim if i reboot they are back..
that the only thing that get on my wick with this new update.
It wouldn't of thought it would be to hard to solve as there must just be a slight change from the 1.5 dialler as they look identical?
It's in every 2.1 Rom I've used.... VERY annoying!
I've also come to realise that when trying to send a message whichever application I use it seems to use the same contact settings as the dialer, so if somebody has a different mobile number saved to Facebook it will give you the option of 2 numbers for them and It's impossible to know which is the sim, phone, Google or Facebook number... Grr..

To best of my understanding this is a lost cause: The problem is obviously with the HTC phone application, but we don't have the source for this application so it almost impossible for someone other than HTC to fix it. You can try to bug HTC about it but I doubt anything will come out of it.
So is this a problem on official 2.1 update too?
Like others, this is the only real annoyance for me.
Would it not be possible to replace the application with the one that was used in 1.5 to solve the problem? It's a major oversight at the moment

I am sorry if i have misunderstood your original question, but if you mean you have received a voicemail message and you want to delete it, you would need to use your network providers menu system to delete it.
If you mean you have a icon in the notification area in the taskbar, then i am still certain its a problem with the notification queue.
Unless i am mistaken, you have a voice mail notification that you cannot get rid of, this is common problem, as i am no expert on the notification queue i can offer you this
In the past, i have had a problem where the sms notification will not disappear, at least until i soft reset the phone, and even then it can be persistant, when this happened to me, i used Memmaid to fix it.
Hi all
I've encountered a problem on my S2 regarding contacts. When I do a search by entering any letter those persons who have these letter will show on my screen. The functionality in that regard is working fine however it will also show up those persons that I've marked as hidden.
For instance I unmarked for show any contacts from my sim card. However when I do a search it will show any persons with that letter including those from my sim card?
Anyone know this problem and how to fix it?
I believe this either happened when I updated the firmware to the latest. ics 4.0.3 and dunno if its a known problem?
Or it could be related to me rooting my s2.
However I did a stock firmware install but the problem still persists.
I've tried on mine and I get duplicates too. I think the hidden ones only stay hidden in your Contacts menu and not your search function. Either this is a default thing or it can be edited using a script. Either way, I don't have a problem with it, but I can see why it is annoying you. Sorry I can't help much, I'm a bit of a noobie myself.

Thank you for replying because I certainly needed a confirmation that it wasnt me that messed up my phone.
Alternative solution would be to simply delete all contacts in my sim card and it would ease my annoyance but still I would say this is not very optimal.
But you did help me by replrying .. thank you.
EDIT:
A friend of mine who also has a s2 but who is still on gingerbread do not have this problem. So I suspect either my phone to be the culprit which seems not to be the case, it would have to be an issue on ICS in general?

I am having the exact same problem and would like a fix without reindralling rom. I have tried clearing dsta for all relating to dialer, phone and contacts, but no help. As soon as i hit phone, dialer crashes and after 10 seconds it says that contacts has stopped working.
Also when first installed the android keyboard crashed all the time and had to switch to smart keyboard.
I m having the same problem too. I thk when the call log has reached a certain amount of storage. The dialer will start crashing. I've experienced twice. The first time I juz try to ti- backup and flash the rom again. But juz now I face the same problem again, don't wanna flash the rom everything to fix it. Any solution to it?? Thx. I've tried to wipe all cache and even clear data of the application contacts, however is useless...
Hope there will be some fix for it as I really prefer 1.1 instead of 1.2 onwards...

Have you tried upgrading to v1.4? when i installed, triple wipe i did the main rom, then gapps, rebooted recovery, installed siyahkernel and it all works for me

It's known problem with RR 1.1 & T9 dialer - if you used the search tool you would know (I had the same exact problem)... Anyway, the problem occurs when you reject a call, once it's F-ed there's no going back (tried reinstalling the apk, TB-it - NOTHING). If you dont want to reflash you can use exDialer from the market, that's what I did then OR upgrade to 1.4, you wont regret - hope this helped (Excuse my bad english)

Thanks for answering! Perhaps i will reflash the rom and won't reject calls again haha!

Glad I helped . Anyway you can use the other "afterbootxxxxxxx.zip" file without T9, that way you can be rude and rejecting calls without FC's afterwards but you'll lose T9 func.
Oh juz saw someone posted in gs2root.com, say when having the contacts fc, can solved by clearing data of "contacts storage", only drawback is lost all the call logs ... but I m not sure is it refering same issue ... wanna know does it work?? (I haven't tried it yet)
Ok, so, I was having the same problem. I tried opening the dialer app information (holding the app icon) and then i cleared the data, it's working perfectly, no drawbacks that I could notice

I have a odd question.. my phone is a Samsung galaxy S2 and recently it started have a weird error whenever I am writing text. If I'm typing and I type the word "side" si goes through the rest doesn't , sometimes my keyboard will stop working and for a few mins if my keyboard is working when you hit space it deletes the last word. Anyone got a clue as to what's happening? I tested other parts it's only that letter combination that causes it. Thank you

You need to include way more information than that.
Are you rooted? What romantic are you on? Are you using a third party keyboard? What have you done to try to solve it?

Well wasn't sure how to describe it really and to answer your questions.
No. No idea what that is. No. And I haven't done really anything other then locking my phone and unlocking it usually fixes it until i type the word again.
I9100? ROM?
