I would really like to be able to find this elusive folder. I am rooted with SU givingn permission for Root Explorer and Astro. I just can't seem to find this folder.
Thanks
nevermind found it.
Please post in General. This section is for developers, not questions. Glad you found it though.

I am an avid Android fan - and reasonable tech saavy..... however, I don't want to root my phone. I have looked for *.apk files (skins in particular) for the Thunderbolt but have had no luck in finding any. I find lots and lots of *.zip files, but no *.apk files.
Can someone point me in the direction of these (if indeed there are any)? I have read in the forum that there are many available, but I can't find them!
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks again -
Sean
There should be apk's in those zips.

Thanks for your response... I am sure there are *.apk files embedded, but I don't have a clue as to how to extract them in order to download.

Why are you so against rooting if you don't mind me asking? I understand its not for everyone and just want to hear from people on the other side of the spectrum.

If the file downloads as a zip file just change the extension name from .zip to .apk and you should be good to go
If you download it to your phone you can use androzip, root explorer (can use without root, but just the SD card, can't touch system files) or I think even Astro file manager can unzip files. If on your pc just unzip, plug your phone up in disc drive mode and move it to your SD card.
Hers is the link to like 30+ apk skins. You do not need to be rooted just download and install with Astro or similar program.
FYI the apk's are in several posts so just scroll the link and you will find them

Sorry if this is not the forum in should be posting in or if there is a similar thread already, but i am pretty frustrated, i am trying to root my phone, but i need to put those root files on the SD card directory, i thought i'd find it pretty easy but i can't find it, i tried pasting it in the like right in phone, not in any folder, couldn't find the file, i really want to root my phone so i can overclock it and etc..
Any help?
you can follow to root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200167
I know this should go into the development forum for MeanBean but being a new member it will not let me post there.
I'm trying to add an app or two to the whitelist but I cannot find the /data/MeanBean.wl file. I've flashed the zip and have tried searching for it in ES File Explorer in root mode but have had no luck. Any pointers????

what zip did you flash? Because if you flashed whitelist-template.zip it should be there. /data/MeanBean.wl.
i wouldn't maked it yourself. It is made in a particular way that needs to set correctly. I would try reflashing the zip again.
Remember to go to post 3 to learn how to add the apps you want to the whitelist.

So far I've tried flashing it twice. I'll go into File ES Explorer and do a search for /data.MeanBean.wl. but the search returns no files. Do you happen to know exactly what folder this gets put into?
Disregard, read it wrong.

Make sure Es Explorer is set up to root.

I just tried doing a search in Es Explorer and it doesn't see it either
its in the data folder

When I got to ES Explorer and try to open up the file, it asks me what to open it as. I say "text" (makes the most sense, right?), but then it doesn't do anything and gives me the error "Unsupported file". What am I doing wrong?
Hey. I have a question about moving files after rooting, installed supersu allready and give root browser permissions in supersu.
I can't find another thread on this.
I have a problem with moving a apk file from downloads/direct to system/priv-app.
It says after i'm trying to moved it "failed operations" and it seems like it's the only directory i can't move files to.
I have read that the files or directory should have some special permissions, but i'am sure that the criteria are met.
Also when i go to supersu to see logfiles on the "action" it says that i need supersu pro to move that files. But will it works or what should i do to get this to work?
Sorry for my english.
hope you understand.
move files to one directory to another
I found the problem.
In system directory the permissions is only to r/o.
But theres is a problem more. When i try to mount r/w in root explorer nothing is happening?
Finally figured out a solution to the problem of getting ROM Toolbox to paste .apk files into the system/app/ folder. Could not find a solution anywhere and saw a few people posting similar problems...
Simply download BusyBox from Play and then install it from within the app. Problem solved! No more R/W access issues, etc, etc
If you searched, may you find this solution - would have saved me some time to date! :victory:
