Rooted Hero on Tmob uk
I cant get to connect to my wifi no matter what I do
I have a netgear adsl2+ modem router DG834G v5
Does anyone know any settings that my work?
My ipod touch has no problems connecting to my wifi , and even my nokia 95 connects but ma hero is upto no good
EDIT: I think I found it on xda search --- changer ( b and g) to g only, sorry about the post it seems to be connected

might be the htc hero's problem, its wifi doesnt work with some routers, i know it doesnt work with my zoom x6 and i have had to put up with it :/
Thanks for the reply guys but I did find the answer in xda forums it self
All I had to do was change the settings in the router from (b and g) to g only and now it is connected all the time.
Obviously Hero wont support both (b and g) but will support g only

hi guys im kinda new to this forum and follow up close step2 by step given by all the seniors here,1st of all ill say tanxs
2nd ly after i have upgraded my xda2 to window 2003se,it works perfectly fine and i have no complain till i tried to use my socket wifi sd,i cant make it connect to my router at all.not only tat,even when im at school,it cant detect at all.im using the latest socket driver from their web it self,yet my result still as bad
any 1 care to help??

utility version for the socket is 2.01

sounds like a wifi-card driver problem
any idea to fix it??

Have you try out at McDonalds?
My SanDisk works well at the McDonalds but not at home so it could be a compatibility with certain routers

In my country the McDonald outlets provide free WiFi surfing for the moment till the free surfing period ends.

Can you remove the WiFI drivers from your EXT ROM.
Hard reset and after that install the WiFi as a separate program.

Hi there my wife has an Sony Xperia X10 she has 2.1 but all of a sudden has issues connecting to the home wifi modem (my galaxy s connects fine)
it finds it and i enter the pass key but it then searches for IP address and fails?
This is very annoying for her, im sure it must be some sort of cache/data issue but thought i would ask you guys for any advice please

Did you try Blade Wifi Fix?
My problem was slightly different. I was able to connect after 4 or 5 attempts. However, it would disconnect every 10 or 15 minutes. Also, there were times it simply couldn't find my wireless network...
After things got better...

Blade wifi fix doesnt work on UK Xperia x10! shame
Hello. I bought a S3 Pebble Blue 16gb about 6 months ago. The prone its not locked and camed from Free Mobile network in France. Since then I had wifi problems ... signal dropping, constant speed 5Mb, no wifi N. I waited for new firmwares ... tried modified ROM's like Omega but still no luck. With the new ROM for France JZO54K I can see some small improvements (the wifi connects a little faster and there is a small increase in speed) but the wifi is still pretty unusable. I have 3 different Wifi N Routers at Home and all connect for a brief time at 65MB or &@ in wifi N and then drops to wifi B or G down to 5MB or 1 MB. When I connect for 30 seconds the internet works well but after that u cannot use it anymore ... the speed is very very low. The 3G network works a lot faster than my wifi. I have tried different routers and the same results. I invited 2 of my friend with Galaxy s3 and their phones connect ok in wifi N 72MB to my router. I have a Iphone and Ipad that both work well on my network so the routers are out of the question. I have tried all the "fixes" i could find on the internet with no luck. Do you think this could be a problem that the guarantee could fix it? I dont want to send the phone and to get it back the same when they see that the wifi works ... but with 5mb ....

I have the same problem, although my phone worked perfectly for about 6 months. I thought in the beginning that my WiFi chip was broken. through multiple drops from small distances. But I can't help you more then just saying that I have EXACTLY the same problem. The WiFi at home works for my PC, MAC, Ipad, Iphone(s), and all my other media, flawlessly. So the only thing I can think of is that we join forces and search the forums and keep track of new ways to fix the issue. Good luck and please post back if You find the solution.
Thanks for the reply. I'm considering calling Samsung for the waranty but I allready know their answer ... "does the wifi works ? ... yes ... Well there is no problem" and the waiting time in France I heard its from 2 to 6 weeks ...
There are some smart solutions one can try but they require some software on Pc and so forth. Look at the post named (my galaxy s3 won't connect to wifi), on the Q&A section for sgs3 here. They give some tips

Hi dude.
Now after some time I have a working phone. This phone has given me more then one headache. The wifi problem I had seemed to be kernel specific. When I started with faryaabs supernexus rom M1 (latest) the phone seemed to work. Instead the phone startes freezing. I solved this to through the DFG method in the ulultimate freezing thread here on xda. So my recommendation is to root install cmw recovery and try faryaabs latlatest rom. Heck you might like it.
Im currently on the leaked 4.2.2 touchwiz. Works ok!!

So i bought this cell..i already was kind of disappointed..now i really hate it..
It gives me problem with the router..like reset it...or make the wifi get stucked...
It's ok as long as anything connect to the wifi uses internet...but whenever i need to use the lan,,,after a while the router shuts everything out...
There is any solutions...other than change router (i tried every possible configuration, even with no protection at all, fixed ips, only g..)
I don't know what else to try...
I never thought a cell could ever mess up with the router...

Well, an android phone can't mess up a router so the problem is the router itself. So changing the router is the only solution

Well, since that router worked perfectly until now guess the problem isn't only the router... My desire works, without making me have any problem wiith the lan..

I don't think any phone can mess up the router. It has to be the problem with your router.

He can't, stop blaiming the phone. Maybe your router needs an update or you need a better one.

Ok..i just googled android crashes router...and found so many with same problem...
If i turn on the wifi on the cell router gives problems, when i turn it off all is great as usual...
With desire bravo no problem...movie station, nokia cell, repeater, decoder, omnia, psp, tablet...not a problem...that stupid cell mess up everything...but..ok..it's router...

If you don't believe us, why did you asked for help in the first place? A phone can't mess up a router, only the router itself or a PC can
ok..i have a belking n1 vision...and to get a "better one" i should get one with nothing but stupid leds? cause of the cell??

I asked for a possible solution..since i never thought android could crash a router...and since i surely am not an android expert...
It's the router...great..i paid it almost as much as that cell...
I don't blame nothing...i just am wondering why it happens when the desire x is connected...what it can possibly do to mess up things..?

Try updating your router firmware. If that doesn't help, try a different firmware like tomato or open-wrt.
And please report back.

Hello there devs!
I'm having a Wi-Fi issue with my 3 year old GT-I9300.It seems that my phone ain't connecting to Wi-Fi.But my other devices like my Lumia and the HP Slate tablet connects to my Wi-Fi hotspot that's hosted in my PC
(I don't have a Wireless modem).I've did a factory reset,installed a new ROM,and pretty much everything else :/
It would be nice if you guys helped me...
Does it connect to other wifis around? Cafe or somewhere outside?
