I'm curious to see how the Eris would run it lol I'm sure we won't be getting very amazing speeds but 768mhz + a 2.2 ROM might make it nearly playable.
Sense based Tazz ROM + 748mhz is ridiculously slow. Once I get more games to try out I'll mess around with the OC'ing. Otherwise...Rampage World Tour is very, very slow haha
I figure as much. EVO users are lagging on it lol I assume we won't be able to play at all really.
I tried my favorite game on it TOMBA!!!
And it was super slow.
So i started playing it on my psp l0l.
I can't even use Nesoid all that well. OCed at 806 running any Froyo roms. Just haven't had much luck. On a side note, has anyone had much luck getting the Wiiremotes to work? Only did once, but was half assed. I was sad.
I got it to work when I did a senseless ROM. I assume it works well on 2.2 roms.

Has anyone been able to run angry birds somewhat smoothly? I tried it on a 2.2 rom a long time ago and it doesnt seem to make it run any faster than a sense 2.1 rom. Would really like to play it while we wait for rovios lightweight version
Check out the video posted in THIS THREAD (Click me). This guy is running angry birds perfectly... next to no lag! Hes using Cyanogen 6.1 Final...
Hm in the video it says its version 1.3.5, not the latest 1.4.2. Which is probably why it was running pretty good. Plus its the first 2 levels, which isnt laggy to start with. Thanks for the reply tho
It's running on the Cyanogen 6.1 Final a lot better than on the original 2.1. At least on my hero
It's not perfect but alright
try angry birds seasons, it runs a lot better on my Hero than the main version, hardly any lag at all
On 2.2 roms with a cpu at 691 it runs flawless!

Really? Can u tell me what rom and kernel u use?
I tried angry birds seasons and its still pretty laggy. Only version 1.3.5 of regular angry birds runs ok. Maybe ill try overclocking when playing
Rom doesn't matter. As long as its a 2.2 rom with Flykernel @ 691 or 710mhz and Jit enabled.
The CPU speed is the bottleneck of our Hero's
has anybody tries this on the nook color. if it works that would make the nook even more amazing.

This does look pretty cool.
It is a work in progress, and there is much work to do to improve the speed of the games from what I have read.
I don't think sound is functional yet either, but it seems like the app is updated fairly frequently, so sound could come in a matter of days or weeks I would imagine.
I'm going to give it a try later tonight and I will report back...
Tiger Labs has a free NDS emulator out which, while not updated often, is still a better application than this $10 one.
That will probably change a month or two from now, but I think he has a lot of balls to charge $10 for an app that offers much less than the free competition.
You should also know that there has been work done on a Sega Saturn and Dreamcast Emulator.
And i'm really hoping for a NDS emulator soon, as it would make it a lot easier to play Phoenix Wright or Professor Layton games at work ;p.
So I just played with it a bit. I'm running CM7 Stable with the 4/12 kernel. Interactive Governor, 1000mhz - Min/ 1100mhz - Max.
And it's choppy... Pokemon SS seemed to be semi-playable and Dragonball Kai - Butoden loaded fine, but was very slow. I haven't had a chance to try Phoenix wright or any of the Layton games just yet, so i'll update when I get a chance on those.
Also going to grab the Tiger Demo NDS Emulator and compare.
Ive tried Both Tigernds and nds4droid, while tiger ran it only ran in a small window, not idea for the nook colors big screen, and nds4droid was pretty slow but ran, but i could only get it to run with the games they listed on the download, other than those games i don't think they will run any others. It was said to be just a proof of concept though so it should be changing as development progresses with it. Tiger just didn't measure up for me.
Hi every!
a friend of mine gave me his X10 cuz he had many problems with it, mainly it was slow.
now the most important thing for him is games and speed (mainly touch responsiveness)
one of the games he wants to play is Assassin Creed, I saw a video on Youtube of someone playing this game and he uses TW ROM,
when i try to flash that ROM on my friend's device in boots and then few secs later restarts, over and over.
i cant figure why it happens, as im using the right BB. help!
besides this, i tried many other ROMs, but Assassin Creed worked on neither of them, i would think that this game is not meant to run on this device but i saw that Youtube video...
last thing, i loaded EWJET ROM, was amazing, everything was really fast and touch was really responsive compared to stock and other roms, but in quadrant it got only 1000 pt, while in TripNMIUI ROM it got 1500 pt, even tho it felt much slower and less responsive.
why is that?
Thanks!!!

I think just there, you solved your own problem.
Is Quadrant that important to your friend?
Does he want a fast phone for gaming
or a phone that scores high in Quandrant?
The thing with Quadrant is that even though is commonly used,
it's easily "cheatable" and bottom line is, it should be used as a reference
and not as an evaluation point for user experience.
Oh well, I thought that quadrant measures FPS which basically tells you how well games will run, but then, high FPS with ****ed up touch is pointless...
Thanks for your answer

It does measure FPS but it's only a part of the tests conducted,
so the results do not mean anything FPS-wise.
And FPS are kernel-related, indepedent of custom ROMs,
so you could try using Z's latest kernel that raises the FPS to about 48-50 max.
Thanks very much for your help, I am actually using zkernel which is really good...
so i guess no idea why the restart loop happens, or anything about games compatibility.
anyway, u made me wounder... you said that i can use zkernel...
is there a way to flash only kernel to use with specific ROM? or that isnt a good idea/possible at all.
Update:
At the end I loaded MIUI ROM 1.7.01 with zKernelbb67
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152555
pretty good ROM, runs pretty good, with it i installed chainfire3D from the market, and now all the games are working pretty good, so everything sorted out.

Glad you sorted it out! I also use MIUI with the zkernel overclocked and games run really smooth!
Then again I mostly play Cut The Rope and Angry Birds (2D games)! LOL!

I have noticed games run differently on some rom's for example on cyanogen mod battleheart 1.2 runs smoothly while on Gingerreal it crashes all the time, so which ROM would be best for gaming? thanks alot.
I usually dont play games on my phone but we all tried angry birds and i'd have to say it worked best when i used CM7, was really laggy at some points when running gb.
btw, wrong section
is CM7 really better at games?
Just curious if anyone has been able to get N64oid playable on their Touchpad.
I'm running CM9 nightlies, perhaps I have some settings not set properly.
I also have chainfire which may or may not help. But it would be a riot if I could get this working.
Yes, I use n64oid on the Touchpad with not problems. It works great and has never malfunctioned. Just search and download off the internet. My favorite website to get roms it MOD EDIT (NO WAREZ LINKS ALLOWED) . If you need any other help just ask me because it works great for me.
Interesting, I have several ROMs, maybe they are just bad ones.
Would you be able to point me a download of a Rom that works smoothly for you?
Thanks!
Also, which ROM are you running on your TouchPad?
We can't give you any links to ROMs.
Just google them.
Try the basics, Mario 64, Mario Kart, etc.
I've played Majora's Mask, and it runs pretty smooth for an emulator. I overclocked it to 1500mhz and it runs smoothly. That's a higher than average n64 game, I think.
I'd invest in a wiimote/classic controller for heavy gaming if that's what you're into. Onscreen controls are often hard for n64 games.
I'm running the latest official nightly of CM9 (3/29)

I keep getting major slowdowns at 2 frames skipped but incredibly chopping gameplay at 3+ in majora's mask using 3/29 office dial @ 1.5ghz. Basically unplayable. Ocarina works well enough, though.

Tried a few on Gingerbread 3.5, video ran fine, sound a bit choppy, certainly playable though, used a wiimote.
