This does look pretty cool.
It is a work in progress, and there is much work to do to improve the speed of the games from what I have read.
I don't think sound is functional yet either, but it seems like the app is updated fairly frequently, so sound could come in a matter of days or weeks I would imagine.
I'm going to give it a try later tonight and I will report back...
Tiger Labs has a free NDS emulator out which, while not updated often, is still a better application than this $10 one.
That will probably change a month or two from now, but I think he has a lot of balls to charge $10 for an app that offers much less than the free competition.
You should also know that there has been work done on a Sega Saturn and Dreamcast Emulator.
And i'm really hoping for a NDS emulator soon, as it would make it a lot easier to play Phoenix Wright or Professor Layton games at work ;p.
So I just played with it a bit. I'm running CM7 Stable with the 4/12 kernel. Interactive Governor, 1000mhz - Min/ 1100mhz - Max.
And it's choppy... Pokemon SS seemed to be semi-playable and Dragonball Kai - Butoden loaded fine, but was very slow. I haven't had a chance to try Phoenix wright or any of the Layton games just yet, so i'll update when I get a chance on those.
Also going to grab the Tiger Demo NDS Emulator and compare.
Ive tried Both Tigernds and nds4droid, while tiger ran it only ran in a small window, not idea for the nook colors big screen, and nds4droid was pretty slow but ran, but i could only get it to run with the games they listed on the download, other than those games i don't think they will run any others. It was said to be just a proof of concept though so it should be changing as development progresses with it. Tiger just didn't measure up for me.

Just wanted to give the heads up. Been playing with it for the last hour and it's as good as it was on my HD2!
downloading now...should be fun
I am running my phone clocked at 1.49 ghz and out of all the games I've tried only Tekken 3 struggles a little. By struggle I mean very playable just slower than the others. All in all I am a happy man!
no familiar wirh this , where do you get games from?

I have a local store that still trades old games like playstation games. So many of these games you can pick up for less than 5 dollars. Then go to fpsece.net and download pocket iso to rip the game image from the disks, put that in a folder on your sd card and find it with fpse. You should then be gaming. If you have any questions go to the fpsece forum at fpsece.net and read up on the tutorials there. Great source of information, and you will find all the answers to your questions there. Good luck! Also, with the latest update of fpse I noticed a speed boost so that Tekken 3 no longer lags.
Hey All
I recently downloaded Gta III From the market But there is significant Lag
(I am using Cm7 With Full Oc)
But I have seen videos on youtube Of people playing Gta III on their Optimus one.
I Have heard Of a Gta version where it doesn't lag But the graphics are bad
Could i PLEASE have a download link for Gta III one that dosnt Lag (i dont care if the graphics are Bad)
GTAIII Optimization
There's two ways I can think of making it run smoother.
1. Chainfire3D. It's a root app, found in the market, whose sole purpose is to enable games on devices that wouldn't normally be able to play them. You have to buy it to unlock everything, but I've been able to use the free version on my Moto Droid to play GTAIII better.
2. Delete the audio folder. Once you have everything downloaded, manually delete the audio folder. If the phone isn't constantly trying to play music or SFX, it will run a bit quicker.
The specific apk isn't going to matter, unless rockstar made huge optimizations to code in recent versions, but as you've DLed from the market, that shouldn't matter, no? Overall, I'd recommend against trying to run it. The optimus isn't really made to handle 3D games in general, much less GTAIII. Good luck, though.
the processor
your rom have overclock? that could help. try to put over 700 mhz in perfomance governor
with OC the p500 will not warm up ?

No.
Maybe a little bit. But nothing will be damaged. Don`t worry, the only thing you can have, is reboot.
Here ya go buddy:

Go there, download game that is around 70-90MB, and apk, and do the same what you did with original!
Graphics are pretty bad in this one, and there is often a bug where you will after 20m in front of yourself see only some pink wall, and ofc no sound...
But runs better, still lagged pretty much on mik_os 6.5.7 but now will test it in PerfectPeso2.2 and see how it is. With full game, on PerfectPeso, it didn't lagged so much like on the rest of the ROMs so I expect this one to run smootly now...
And yeah, just overclock it until kernel starts to reboot, i got mine stable on 825Mhz, on 844 it runs about 1 hour, and on 864 it got nearly 10min in mik_os 6.5.7, but now on PerfectPeso there is no option to go beyond 806mhz...:/ But still frikin fast!
UPDATE: yeah on PerfectPeso2.2 fresh installed no tweaks ripped version will run almost lagless, 15-25fps, but totaly playable! And no pink wall bug anymore!!!
Tried this game a while back and the result was the same... The lag made the game unplayable..
Tested it on CM7. PerfectPeso2.2 sound's good from what you say, but will not change the rom just for a game .
Just curious if anyone has been able to get N64oid playable on their Touchpad.
I'm running CM9 nightlies, perhaps I have some settings not set properly.
I also have chainfire which may or may not help. But it would be a riot if I could get this working.
Yes, I use n64oid on the Touchpad with not problems. It works great and has never malfunctioned. Just search and download off the internet. My favorite website to get roms it MOD EDIT (NO WAREZ LINKS ALLOWED) . If you need any other help just ask me because it works great for me.
Interesting, I have several ROMs, maybe they are just bad ones.
Would you be able to point me a download of a Rom that works smoothly for you?
Thanks!
Also, which ROM are you running on your TouchPad?
We can't give you any links to ROMs.
Just google them.
Try the basics, Mario 64, Mario Kart, etc.
I've played Majora's Mask, and it runs pretty smooth for an emulator. I overclocked it to 1500mhz and it runs smoothly. That's a higher than average n64 game, I think.
I'd invest in a wiimote/classic controller for heavy gaming if that's what you're into. Onscreen controls are often hard for n64 games.
I'm running the latest official nightly of CM9 (3/29)

I keep getting major slowdowns at 2 frames skipped but incredibly chopping gameplay at 3+ in majora's mask using 3/29 office dial @ 1.5ghz. Basically unplayable. Ocarina works well enough, though.

Tried a few on Gingerbread 3.5, video ran fine, sound a bit choppy, certainly playable though, used a wiimote.
Any one tried Max Payne Mobile yet? I just finished downloading, and the game crashed after the intro scene.
I'm running Mirage-Kang CM7 btw.
I will take a look into it. If you look at my graphic intensive gaming thread, I will put my findings there. Also, read what I have up there and see if anything seems like it might make it work. Hope I can help more!
Tried it after reading this thread, runs like crap even on the lowest settings, even worse than GTAIII did
With Chainfire things improve, you can run the game on medium settings and its playable although it still freezes sometimes
I'm running on CM7.2
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!!!!!!!!!!?!!!!!!
Sucks for you I have the game works great on my kindle fire hd maybe the nook color can't handle the game ever thought of that plus the game takes a lot horsepower to play
sent from my unrooted kindle fire hd
I find it runs quite well on the device. I would say nearly the speeds I see on my Shield TV making it quite playable. I've only tried a Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, and New Super Mario Bros so far and while each one had just a touch of audio latency or lag it was certainly not bothersome to me. Score another point in my book for the Yogabook.
Nice ! Are you using an Android or Windows Yoga?
my bad, I am on the Android model. Using the latest nightly build (as of my initial post anyway) of Dolphin at the moment.
Nice that they finally made it work on the Yoga Book.
I'd be curious to hear how well it runs o the Windows version of the tablet?
It doesn't work on my Android book. All I get is a black screen. I tried several versions of the developer builds. Maybe it's because of the new N update or because my ROMs are on a SD card.
i was having that issue initially, not sure what if anything I changed to fix it, but working now on 5.0-5566 build using OpenGL on N 7.1.1
Still a tad slow but playable. Offhand I thought all Android N could do Vulkan? Dolphin crashes with an unsupported error if I try switching to that API

It runs surprisingly decent! Not perfect but I enjoyed playing Pikmin 2 and Luigi's Mansion without hardly any issue a week or so ago. In fact I think it would play fairly well if not for thermal throttling. Things start off really well but after 20 or so minutes (depending on the game) it may begin to throttle the CPU.
How to?

Can you make a tutorial for getting vulkan running on the Lenovo yogabook? I have root but not sure how to get vulkan running.
I don't own the Yogabook any longer. As noted though, I never could get vulkan working only opengl would work. I thought vulkan worked with all Android devices but best I gathered is that is only true of ARM type devices. Intel devices need at least the Iris 500 GPU or higher for vulkan support in the Windows world. So wile that's probably true of Android also the Yogabook only has the HD 400 series GPU.
