Hi
I buyed a new sonyericsson xperia X10 mini, my last phone was a Nokia E51. When I tried use the BT I discovered that the two protocols (look bt the subject) is missing. I was very angry. :-(
What can I do? I will need the DUN, which protocol enable the internet sharing for my netbook.
If I will try rooting after upgrade to android 2.2 it will work?
Thanx, lazly

Guys, if somebody can help for me please... I nedd this function, but didn't find anything in net. Thx!
won't work until 2.x update, which will be available in q4 i think (hope)

This is a limitation of the 1.6 android version.
Current fix is to download "Bluetooth file transfer" from the market.
Hope sony pull there finger out and update this great little phone soon..
Good luck!
i've tried "Bluetooth file transfer", but doesn't work on my x10 mini. when I try to connect to device, an error message appears (after 3 min trying to connect. the OBEX FTP and OBEX OPP profiles can't be found it says) . It seems to work fine on some phones, and not so good on others.

Works for me..
Transferred FTP styles from a E71 for my partner just a few days ago didn't have a problem.
You could also try estrongs, that would work too.

Hi Ppl.,
I'm starting a new project with this thread.
Goal is to get TMC running within Navigation Software on X10.
As we all know from the specs and my determining over here, that there is no FM Chip assembled to the X10.
But our User drobec208 had the Idea to make use of an external bluetooth / TMC device.
The Idea is to use the "FM9BT-C", made by GNS GmbH with "usually TMCable" navigation software. (Nice side affect: FM9BT-C also brings a 5V, 1A USB Charger ).
I ordered one FM9BT-C and received it yesterday.
As I make use of Sygic mobile maps for Android, I knew from the .ini files, that TMC is just deactivated after stock installation of Sygic.
Within the folder: "\sdcard\Drive\Android\" you can find the .ini files too.
But now, I'm a little stuck.
I can't even connect FM9BT-C to X10.
Pairing works fine, but the my phone shows: "Paired but not connected".
I also can't connect both devices.
I guess, it's the same issue, like I had with my Bluetooth keyboard:
Android 1.6 is simply not capable for HID Devices.
So I guess its same with the TMC Device.
The TMC Device needs to be set up with a COM Port.
But atm I don't even get so far.
So guys, whats your advice?
Any Devs around, that can help out?
Do I have to wait for 2.1 this month?
Is Android not TMC capable at all?
Kind regards,
McK
O.k., as far as I could determine myself, a Bluetooth COM Port is needed for sure.
But how can I set it up in Android?
Is is that impossible with 1.6?
if it's connected via BT I'm affraid the problem is limited Bluetooth profiles support on 1.6. The USB on FM9BT-C is just for charging?
O.k., I feared something like that.
As the Update to 2.1 will come in a few Weeks, we will see more, after it was released.
Du you know something about the profiles in 2.1?
Japp, the USB connector is for charging only.
not much, just google I'm waiting for 2.x just because of BT profiles and my SE MBW-150 support via OpenWatch http://beta.smartmadsoft.com/
http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.0-highlights.html#PlatformTechnologies
http://www.google.com/support/forum...n&fid=40c6f9447eac44e600047f171034e819&hltp=2
otherwise I'm affraid we have to wait for 2.2
http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.2-highlights.html#PlatformTechnologies
I've also recently found this Thread in a German Forum:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/439320-post42.html
Roughly, fast and only the important thing translated: Wit Android 2.1 for X10, the Bluetooth Stack will be updated to Bluetooth V 2.1, which introduces:
- secure simple pairing
- GAP Generic Access Profile
- GOEP Generic Object Exchange Profile
- OPP Object Push Profile
- PBAP Phonebook Access Profile
- SPP Serial Port Profile
So, we have to wait a little more....
@MBW-150: OMG? S///E X10 isn't supporting a S///E Bluetooth Watch... *[email protected]///E*
Uhm, bad news.
I still get "paired but not connected".
Even after updating to 2.1.
I guess the connection has to be initiated by software (like on the bluetooth keyboards).
Does anybody know the name or so of the bluetooth com port?
I'd try to connect through Sygic Mobile Maps.
hi, I'm not glad to hear that.
what happens if you try to find TMC device from within the Sygic?
P.S: My MBW-150 finaly works with X10

Unfortunately: Nothing...
My last hope is to set the bluetooth comport manually within Sygic.
With a little chance, it will activate the connection if it knows the way...
But I don't know the port
Is there an app, to list the ports or so?
maybe http://code.google.com/p/android-serialport-api/ ?
Uhm... I have no idea how to use that App
Not sure if anyone can help me with this, but my x10 no longer connects to my pioneer avic u310bt car deck. I can get the deck to find my phone and prompt for code entry but afterwards it fails connection.
Phone and deck worked perfectly together in 1.6 and I've been on both nordic and now rogers firm ware. I can connect to my bt head set, just not my car deck anymore. Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Seems the 2.1 update has stripped the X10 of much of its bluetooth functionality. I've read elsewhere in the forum of this problem and so far none of the people experiencing it (including me) have found a solution.
When I attempt to transfer files from my PC to the X10 (which worked fine under 1.6) I now get the message "No services found" which seems to imply that the phone's bluetooth specs are now missing something.
Maybe we need to wait for a patch from SE.
If anyone has better ideas please enlighten us.
Hi,
Can anyone give me some idea how can I turn my X10 mini into a wifi hotspot? I found many people are asking similar question but I did not notice any good answer. So this is possible or not?
Use Barnacle: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740698
search for it in the market
you could found that information in the wiki or with some searching in this post in the x10 mini/pro General Forum
I use Barnacle Wifi Tether as Cyberwuulf already said.
It supports WEP encryption on my x10 mini pro, and works perfectly every time, super fast - And ive sent in a few good ideas to the dev which he promised to implement in the future.
It works with my X10 Mini with PC connection, but fails to get connected by Xperia X8, and I'm still working out with other phones tomorrow... Please note that my X10 Mini is running 2.1, rooted.

And I got it works with my X8 too, before I read the following Ad-hoc mode only:
Can you make Barnacle use infrastructure mode instead of ad-hoc?
If one could make an Android phone look like a real access point (rather than an ad-hoc network), then it would improve compatibility and allow better security. Unfortunately, to make a wifi client behave like an access point requires fundamental changes in the device driver. The hardware vendors of the wireless interfaces present in most Android devices did not include such capability.
What one can do, however, is use Connectify to make their laptop running Windows 7 appear as a real access point. In combination with Barnacle it should be possible to connect many restricted devices (PS3, DSi, etc.) to the Internet.

and my damn old Palm TX and a notebook running Vista surf the Internet with both Android phones with Barnacle, and it's a freeware ;-)

Thanks for the help guys
I've tried the media center to get working, but it just simply doesn't. My notebook and my x10 are connected to the same wireless network, but the PC just won't detect the x10.
How exactly does the media server works?? I've already looked and there isn't any tutorials, videos o threads asking this.
Any help will be useful
Btw:
Since I dont use it, is it safe to remove? Or removing it will it mess up some Wolfs tweaks?
Try going under network settings on your computer and disable the firewall

I have a Q. I can't get it working either. Does my comp need to be connected to my router via Wi-Fi also to get it to work?

I wrote up a how-to the other day regarding Sony Ericsson's Media Server app. I've now updated my post with information on how to get things working with Windows Media Player 12 that is a part of Windows 7.
Just go here:

I hope it works out for everyone.
Hi there. I heard new Samsung phones have this feature called 'wifi direct' which sends files over wlan from one phone to another..... Like add hoc?
Would this maybe be possible to port to our x10 or not?
P.s does android 2.3.3 finally work with addhoc? Because 2.2 says it won't when i tried with printer's wifi.
