Anyone know if it will work? I pulled one from an Evo ROM, but it said it couldn't be installed. Would be nice to have it play in the highest def as default.
I used the one from cm 5.0.8. Worked like a charm. My girl's phone isn't rooted & she just installed the apk & upgraded the youtube app using astro

Isn't the factoryyoutube app on the vibrant hd? When I watch a video I click the menu soft key and scroll to the bottom and click watch in high quality.

The apk I posted has the option in the settings to set high quality as default
But When i watch Videos on the youtube app on my vibrant i go to settings and it says watch in normal quality that means it's already on high quality right?

I'm not sure. Are you using wifi? If you are in wifi, it will default to high quality. But this option will make it default to high quality if you are on edge, 3g or wifi

Videos do not have separate tab. Just tap the video link at the end of each headline.
Just found that by clicking the grey grid at top left will give option to switch to video, radio etc. Decent app.

Oh no, i do not have a provider through the app (AT&T).
I watch through the website (espn3.com)
Very nice, had been killing me (at least on my galaxy nexus) having to watch through the browser.
Yeah, it actually maximizes to fullscreen now. Quality is still not as good as the browser, but I'm having problems with the ESPN3 website (doesn't go full-screen and the video keeps on streaming even if I close it).

i figured out in the browser not to click on the full-screen button, but do double-tap the screen to make the video full screen

If you have seen the ability to watch a video while doing another task for the Samsung Galaxy 3, then this is it.
Pretty much the same deal. Works well with the Note i717.
I am running the Hybrid ROM in Tablet mode and this app works great.

Is it safe for an app to collect a device's imei to their server? The EULA claims that it is used to verify the device. It is in the privacy policy.

No I have the free one and I play YouTube videos. just go into YouTube app and press the share button then see all and its at the bottom.

OK all, while this app seams to have everything I would want it has one major thing I don't want LAG. just wondering is it doing this to everyone or just me? What I mean is this, when it plays a video it plays about 2 sec then buffers, but in the youtube app the same video will play with no issues. I am useinf the free version and have un installed and re installed it already. Also I am getting throttled speeds on ATT however as I have said youtube works just fine. Any ideas?

I haven't experienced any lag as of yet. Both on Flapjaxxx's UCLE2 and CM9.

No lag here and I'm still on FJ's GB ROM.
With more use I've noticed it seems to be only YouTube and only.the hd videos, any other site with hd works fine and the YouTube app with hd works fine. Might just be that I'm throttled, I'll post back after my new bill cycle and update. Just asking is anyone else throttled and working right? By the way I'm only getting hspa+ in my area. But still a GREAT app for anyone, thanks again for sharing.

I am experiencing low frame rate when switching to full screen. When the video is floating, it's perfectly fine.

I was messing around with my buddy galaxy s3 and I noticed they can do this picture in picture kind of thing where they can minimize the video and still use other functions on their phone. I was wondering if anyone can implement this mod in their room or even make it available for the EVO.

or maybe he means this? i can do this with my computer monitor but it requires 2 different sources for video. so i can have my computer video full screen (via a dvi connection) but then have lets say a xbox playing in a small corner at the top through a different cable such as hdmi. looks something like this

No I believe he is talking about the "Pop-up Play" feature that the GS III introduced that lets you play a video, minimize it to do other stuff like text and browse while the video is still playing in a smaller "picture-in-picture" window like seen here. luisrod03 was also correct. Here is another app that let's you do the same thing but it isn't free like luisrod03's link.
Yes the app let me do what I was trying to do... I wanted to view a video while texting and doing things on the phone... Also when u tap on it it will go back to full screen but I do like that super app though

Hi, does anyone else having the same issue as what I'm having? Youtube quality isn't as good on this device compared to galaxy note 3 or HTC one.
Videos play smoothly but the quality and the sharpness of the videos seems to blur and not as sharp and I already set the youtube setting to HD.

Download boat browser or another preferred browser with support for flash and watch 1080p without a problem.
If that's not an option, get the youtube mod allowing for 1080p streaming. Although I couldn't get it to work it might get fixed soon.
Turn off X-reality also, it kills YouTube.

I cant get 1080p videos to play,max its shows is 720p.

I already knew that option but its not as easy as playing via app. Anyway thanks for your suggestion
I tried Viral Youtube app and its quality even though max it support 720p as of now(earlier used to support 1080p) is really fantastic.I find it much better than default youtube app.
