SOLVED
Installed gmail and gtalk back and cleared all data/cache of google related services/apps
I removed a few files with root manager and now when I boot up I get this message the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I also cannot download apps. It hangs at “Downloading”
I did pull all the apk and odex files to my comp before removing.
Update
I reinstalled gmail and cleared data/cache for most google apps and it fixed the pop up part. I had to relogin to my google account but im still unable to download anything.
Update 2
I reinstalled gtalk and now when I start the market app I get a process com.android.vending force close error.
where can I download gTalk?
how can you reinstall gmail? I have same problem with the gcalendar.
gtalkservice
All you need is to reinstall gtalkservice.apk.
You google for it.
permanent solution
I tried all of these and it still pops up....should I just re install everything?
I know this is solved however, i'm on an Epic 4g Touch and it kept flashing these errors. It will take you forever to click ok on each one and at the same time trying to get to Menu Settings ... I just pressed power+Volume up buttons till the Galaxy logo came on and chose Factory wipe and Wipe cache..all is great now.
I simply cleared data that had anything to do with Google and that fixed it.
Clear data from Google service framework and all other Google related apps n services... if you need to remove and install restart then it should be fine...

I solvede it by removing browser sync from Settings --> Google --> Account --> Browser.
As I use Dolphin Browser as default browser, synchronization cannot recognize it.
I think mine got fixed when I disabled google sync contacts... whoever has com.google.process.gapps error persistent even after trying everything.. go to accounts > google > synch all and you'll where the error occurs just disable sync for that and it wud work.. I'll let you know if the error returns at my end.
help

I've installed CWM v8, and Rom "G_Harmonyv1.2" on my Gtab. I've manually installed Flash 10.2 and repaired the Google market app.
All apps I have loaded from market seem to work fine. I have my gmail app setup and I get my mail fine.
Everything seems to work but Google Calendar sync. Whenever I try to set it up I get this message: "Application Calendar (process com.android.calendar) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". --- Force Close --- is the only option. The calendar app reopens empty as before.
Is this a known issue or is there some routine like the Google market repair that needs to be done?
Is anyone else running this Rom Version having this same problem.
i have the same problem too
ever used this rom, but when this happened to me on Vegan 5.1.1 and BC, I would go to settings, manage applications, all, find the google calendar and wipe the data, then wipe the data for contacts too. Reboot the system and see if it syncs fine without error....
I flashed a new ROM a few days ago and also gapps. Now all of a sudden when i try to install an app it says "Unfortuanetly android.process.media has stopped working" and my download fails due to the error of 491. I can only install apps from the internet becuase the app is already downloaded and i just need to install it but i cant install apps from the browser version of google play. anyone know how to fix this? plz answer.
Flash rom again and flash a different gapps like jsutnbean or tan trums...Google the names

Go to your app settings page (Settings > Apps > Manage Applications) and open Media Storage. select "clear data".
Then boot into CWM and under Advanced, choose fix permissions.
Reboot
In Settings > Apps > Manage Applications, open Google Services Framework. Clear data.

It was a pleasure to help you.
I came to this solution trying all what I found on dozens of forums. Most of them don't work. Sadly I don't remember where I found this one, to give the proper credits.
Anyway, you can press my thank button to increase my thank meter, LOL

My answer was based on my experience on a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 , with CWM 6.0.2.x (IIRC)
There was a "fix permissions" option in the advanced menu, I think you should search on Google "cwm +recovery +YourModel"
I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
Now I have a Nexus 5 with the TWRP 2.7.0.0 recovery
com.android.phone has stopped - My Solution
I've had this while showing my friend my new ROM & Recovery install.
Philz Touch had just turned itself into standard 6.0.4.5 so I re-zipped it ... WRONG!!!
First I got "Unfortunately .... com.android.phone" message, so I cleared the caches, factory reset (forgot to format system cache - but hey!) THEN reflashed the ROM (Paranoid Android 4.4.3 RC1) and the GApps (PA-Mini)
THEN I started getting "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped".
Hmmm ... So I started thinking "Media huh?"
Went into recovery and mounted the SDCard0 and SDCard1.
Aaannd ... she's working again.
Of course, now I'm waiting while all my Apps reload (Good old Google Sync :good: ), then Contacts etc.
But at least I got the damn thing back to working. :fingers-crossed:
Moral of the story "Don't mess with it if it ain't broke!"
p.s.
Someone who knows what they're doing will probably post a simpler method ...
opening music app, downloads and playing video stop working
Music default app, downloads and when playing videos suddenly stop working. Last time I. installed gl tools and swapit ram expander then uninstalled them then this happens. I tried media storage clear data even factory reset but it doesn't chanhe qnything. Any help?
Hello. My lenovo ideatab A3000-H keeps on showing the "unfortunately, process com.android.phone has stopped" I tried clearing the data and cache, as well as, factory reset, but still, it keeps on flasing. How can I solve this problem? Thank you in advance!
I accidentally deleted several system apps, well, without knowing if they were really that important. So now Play Store crushes as soon as i tap to open it, gmail as well, Google Plus, basically every app that has Google in it's name. And i keep getting an error with Google Service Framework, when i try to connect to the internet using Google + app, the error
HTML:
"No connection; Couldn't connect to the server"
and this error keeps popping up every time i press okay,
I also get this error after restarting the phone;
HTML:
Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
I'm using Sony Xperia P LT22i running Android 4.1.2. I think i've messed up my phone coz i can't do anything apart from use the browser, make and receive calls and send texts. How do i go from here to restore it? I've tried a factory reset, it comes back in the same way. I've also tried installing both Google Services Framework apk and Google Play Store, but still nothing works. Same Same errors. I'll appreciate any help i can get. Thanks.

When you install an app it's by default a "User" app. Have you switched the Gapps you reinstalled to "System" apps? If not, do that and try them again.
Also, DO BACK-UPS!!!
So here is my basic issue at the moment:
I can get google play to work but uninstalling in titanium back up and reinstalling the apk manually and making it a system app. BUT it wont let me download apps or upfmdate apps or update google play services also I can't sync my contacts from my gmail account with my device. Thanks to one of the admins on here I was able to get google play up and running after it crashed the first time but sadly it has stopped functioning all together now. I have tried clearing the cache I haave wiped data but to no avail. I have even gone through the sames steps I used on my last thread to geet it working again but sadly the app fails after 2 to 3 minutes of being reinstalled. Does anyone know of a fix for this kind of an issue?
When I try to download apps it gives me the following error now
Error retrieving information from server
[RPC:S-7:AEC-0]
Wipe Cache in recovery
That got playstore up and running still no contacts syncing tho :/

restoring anything to /system using titanium in lollipop doesn't work, yet. Remove your google account in settings/accounts then wipe cache again, you won't lose anything. Then wipe data from google services and play store, you can use titanium to do that. Reboot, wipe cache again, then add your google account (do not restore it from a backup) in settings/accounts, and let it sync.
also,
if you're using any kind of nodded play store to do that first sync it won't work

I don't think I have a modded apk ill post the error codes I'm getting then try your method playstore just crashed and now I can't download apps :/
Try to get a apk of titianium backup and unintalll the playstore and replace it with a verison from a set of gapps
As it stands atm I cannot access playstore at all to update anything it stopped giving me error codes also. What I normally do when this happens is I uninstall playstore I remove my gmail account and wipe play services cache this used to fix it but now when I do all that playstore does nothing it just gives me a blank page
I need to install Google Play Services on an old tablet. The tablet has Android 4.2.2 OS. I know this is unusual since that is basically an antique today.
I can't sideload or use recovery. I can't use TWRP.
What I can do is read/write the system drive. So I have to do this manually if you will. I have to move the files and apks to the system drive and grant permissions. No other way to do it.
But it keeps crashing on me. The apps will run and I can even login with my Google account, but when I try to send an email through GMail or install an app through Play Store it crashes. I can receive emails but not send them. And I keep getting the modal dialog that says, "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped."
The "solution" I keep seeing is to clear the cache, but that doesn't work and makes no sense here since I just installed it.
Has anyone had any experience installing GApps this way? I've seen very little info on this approach.
Does anyone have an idea about what I'm missing?
Thanks,
Steven

My suggestion would be to grab a gapp package and explore it on your PC or with root browser. The PICO gapps package includes everything you need to make the playstore and stuff work... Just the basics. Lol. I'd start there and install/overwrite every app from the package. Reboot. Should be good to go.
