Is there interest to run cooked roms on this phone?
If there is, I can develop a USPL.
I need the original SPL first. Please can someone dump it using the attached SPL backup kit. Connect your phone and make sure activesync is ready syncing (green). Then run the file monet-backup.bat. It will attempt to application unlock your phone. Ignore the prompt to restart your phone, just click it away. It will create a subdirectory "4" in which you find a few dumped files. Please zip it and attach here. Thanks!

Thanks for posting your dumps guys. Unfortunately the dumps do not include the full SPL. An intermediate step must be carried out to find the proper address. Please run the attached batch file "memorymap.bat" it generates a memory map. Post the file "memmap-lobster.txt" here. Note: you must have a activesync connection via usb cable before running memorymap.bat.

This is everything you need to get 2.1 on your X10 mini. It doesn't mind your zone, the version you have or if it's unlocked or not. Also it's a easy way to unbrand your phone.
Edit: The method is very easy and WORKS (tested few phones and also some of you), but do it in your own risk.
1) You have to root your phone. If you haven't rooted yet, install "Androot" (it's attached to this post), run it and press root. Be sure the app says: rooted! if not, repeat it again.
2) Get "Root Explorer". You can get it on Market or wherever you can find it (because it isn't free ). Install it, run it, and give it root privileges.
3) Unrar and copy build.prop on your sdcard. This build.prop is from a GENERIC 2.1 ROM (1237-8596_R3B). I attached this file cause it's easier than editing the existing one.
4) Run Root Explorer, push the button "mount R/W" copy the build.prop that you copied in /sdcard over /system/build.prop and overwrite it. Push the button again "mount R/O". Edit: (Make a backup of your old file if you want, I haven't tested but maybe you can do the same to revert to the old version, I dunno!).
5) Reboot the phone. This is important. In some phones, you could get some error messages and the home app crashes continuosly, but don't worry about it.
6) Once rebooted, turn off your phone.
7) Run SE update service. When you hold the back button to plug the cable, DON'T RELEASE IT, although the program says you can release it, that's important, because if not, it won't work. Wait a while (be patient) and then the program will say that you have a new update available. Now you can release it and install the update. Edit: If the program says that you have the newest version, don't worry, only choose repair... and that's all !!!
Enjoy.
Extra info:
- This method (or trick) could be over with an update of SEUS. So take advantage of it ASAP if you want to do it.
- You can edit the build.prop and change the ROM version you want. I.e. if you want to change the zone, only do the same with the build.prop data of the exact ROM you want, repair and that's all.
- If you repair and it doesn't change anything, delete the "db" folder in SEUS directory on your computer, to force to re-download the firmware. Repeat the process again.
This thread was only to make a "clear" and easy text to do it, without using a shell. Thanks to all who helped me and the authors of the other posts.
PS: Sorry about my English
Anybody got the build.prop for the u20i? The mini pro?
darfito, is it from a u20a or u20i version?
E10i, X10 mini (isn't pro)
Thanks. I have a mini pro, guess I'll have to wait a little longer.
So is this a global generic or Nordic generic?
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
Looks like Indonesia Generic (judging from the 1237-8596 code).
Certainly I don't have any idea. I flashed my phone via Davinci with that ROM. In the ROM name didn't appear any region, like a global generic one. There were the NCB (nordic, I think) and ID (i don't know where is from), and this one. I think maybe a chinesse ROM, but I'm not sure. It works great.
I used my build.prop with my girlfriend's x10 mini, exactly like I described in this method and worked perfectly. We have the same ROM installed, so I don't know where is it from!
thank you my brother from another mother !

I think if you get a build.prop from any generic x10 mini pro updated to 2.1, you can do the same process. Ask to a x10 mini pro owner who had updated to 2.1 and try.
Also you can edit the build.prop, but I don't know the data for the pro, search on the forum or google.
The point is that this trick could be finnished when SE update service updates itself... so my advice is if you want to unbrand and get a generic 2.1 take this ASAP.
Did anybody test with an e10a device? Once flashed any 3G issues?

A great effort and thank you, but I only want to use a global generic, I'm a bit funny like that, if anyone knows the code for global generic mini I would be hugely grateful
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
That's a generic one. The global generic doesn't exist and won't exist. There're generic ones in each zone/country and they're the same between them, there're only minimal changes like some language added, or some extra stuff added (like keyboard), but nothing else. Mine is a generic world one, but made to be rolled out in China or wherever.
The roll out is stepped, by country/zone to ensure a smooth update, nothing else.
I'm only afraid about UK update, cause in SE UK twitter, they say that the update is delayed because of laws and regulations... or something like that... that sounds very bad... so, also for that point, the firstly released ones should be the less modified... I think...
SG-generic also seems to work: 1238-7173 (this is for the Mini PRO u20i, not the Mini!).
I waited for SG instead of Nordic because I'm pretty sure that Singapore uses English keyboards and won't be messing about with Nordic special characters and such... hopefully it won't turn up with Singapore-specific modifications. But the speed of the release suggests that it must be quite similar to the Nordic firmware.
help..!!!!!

The main home apps crashes when you reboot, that's normal. You have to power off, use SEUS and don't release the back button till it says there's a new update. If you say what's the problem, I could help you (error message on SEUS). I just done it again with a friend's one and worked perfect. Too much easy.
About wifi problem, restart it or check your router, mine's working fine. If the update worked, remember that it's an official ROM and also an official program (SEUS), so i don't think this method was the problem.

Can someone please post how to flash your update to 2.1...
im, sry for nagging, but ive posted for help on several threads and still noone replys. and there's too many threads about 2.1(optimizer, flashing, etc...) and its confusing which software to download and you get the idea...
im not very tech savvy, so i would greatly appreciate if someone posts a detailed yet simple explanation on how to flash your xperia x10 to 2.1 from 1.6.
it'll only take 20 min of your valuable time tops, and it will help a LOT of people who are still confused on how to do it get android 2.1.
oh and if this helps a little...

Hope you can do it.
hey guys thanks for all the help, i looked at that thread and the same problem, it links to other threads which tell me to do other things like disable uac in vista, what is uac lol?
then it wont work in java or something, etc...
and there's like 3 different files to download
its very confusing.
can someone with a windows vista computer tell me exactly how they did it with a link to the most up to date flasher?

Here is Global World Firmware 2.1 Version with x10Flasher 2.1 (old 1.6 Firmware can not be flashed with this at the moment).
Windows 7/Vista Users should diasable UAC!!

Thanks to Bin4ry, jerpelea and the_laser for x10 Flasher 2.1
The Global World firmware is inside the "firmware" folder and must reside within this folder!

ok, so i believe that one has the most up to date flasher right?
so i disable UAC by going to MSCONFIG and hitting the disable UAC then restart my pc
then i go to the thread linked at the top, download the 2 files, extract everything. put the firmware downloaded into the empty firmware folder. hit the .bat file. hit the values it asks me for(3 for vista, yes for delete user data, and xperia x10)
then when prompted to, turn off my x10 and plug it in while its in flash mode and it'll do the rest right?
am i missing anything?

Nope. Report back when you've done or have any issues.
ok, so im gonna do all of this on tuesday, since i have a chemistry and a physics exam next week and need to study for them. So i will tell you guys how it went on tuesday.
one last thing though...how about backup?i have my contacts and calender synced with the SE servers but if i want to restore them i have to do it manually which takes hours.
can i use the default backup and restore app? any suggestions?
thanks
suggestions for backup use MYPHONE EXPLORER 1.8 and connect using/installing the supplied apk (you will find it in the myphone explorer installation folder)
once connected copy/sync all your contacts and backup your messages (you can also backup your other stuff like photos, music etc but they are on your sd anyway)
once you have done this use oneclick root app on your 1.6 such as UNVERSAL ROOT etc to root your 1.6 and then use Titanium backup to do a FULL BACKUP of all your apps and data settings
If your not sure about using the flasher program as suggested above then use the method Simple way to switch from one 2.1 version to another method by editing your build.prop etc files using root explorer in conjunction with SEUS yep its still a little more messing but it works pretty well on just about any machine that can run SEUS
1 last thing i forgot about, i have SEUS and pc companion installed on my PC, should i delete those or will the flash program still work with them on my pc?
ive installed cygwin but when i call ./menu the answer is

You just quoted the answer to your question! I thought I made the error messages easy enough to understand.
There is an answer to that same question in the FAQ and it has been asked several times in the thread if you search.
believe me, ive done some research before posting...
my big wall is that i dont understand dev or prog logical spelling and i am not english as you can see by my flag.
even on some threads that i read, user cant get a specific answer because helpers and users always point for faq .

This is not an excuse. You don't need to understand development/programming or even fluent English to install Cygwin. The specific answer to your exact question is in the Android Kitchen FAQ, it's not there so that somebody can get you off his back. The FAQ is there in simple English and its purpose to stop questions like this being asked a hundred times and cluttering up the forums and wasting my time answering the same thing over and over. I didn't spend all that time working on answering the questions for nothing. I'm trying to make the kitchen instructions and errors as descriptive and helpful as possible to the user yet somehow it makes it harder for you.
In brief, simply open up the readme file and make sure you followed the cygwin instructions correctly.
I'm sorry. did not want to undervalue your efforts and your work.
was having a bad day and did not pay real attention to your work.
is true, everything is the way it is explained, and followed to the letter, we have a kitchen completely furnished and ready to cook.
a true thank you for your work and hope to continue to have your news.

calm down ..is it so hard to answer...blabla iam developer
browse to https://github.com/dsixda/Android-Kitchen , download as zip and extract it to C:\cygwin\home\user (assume its install location)
working only on x64 version based PC only.
rename your extracted folder to kitchen
before make sure cpio, perl, ncurses, wget, zip, unzip, gcc has installed from cygwin setup.
cd kitchen
./menu

For me it didn't work, i try everything and it stills gives me the same message of clear.
got all the way to step 7 of method two from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 and ran UpTestEX_mod2_marwin only to get a pop up please update R&D test tools".
I know the regular LG R&D doesn't let me revert from kitkat (have tried 5 times), so does anyone know where I can actually get a current R&D mod. Have googled every way I could think of and as I started trying to get this T-Mobile LG G2 re-rooted 14 hours ago, I'm burnt and really need some help.
Thanks in advance
did you reed instructions in the file?
does the script complete.
anyways reboot, add manually the url to hostfile
:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host
save without txt extension (as all files).
follow instructions again, then it should launch
after manually remove line from hosts again.
that worked for me
also firwall should allow https file that virusscanner may mark as virus.

yes, I read the instructions, as I said I was up to #7 and that's where the Marwin file will not go through.

I really hate when people scold people about being in the right forum when they actual are.
I've posted a general G2 question in the General G2 forum.
And this question had nothing to do with the LGMOBILEAX file (which I already substituted). It was about the LG R&D not working on an LG G2 which I posted in the LG forum.
Less time acting like a parent, more time reading the post before you offer no help.
