Now that everyone has had a chance to use (play with) their Evo 3d are they glad or do they wish they kept their regular Evo? If you have any pro's or con's, what are they? I've heard pictures are better on the original Evo. I know that the 3d is faster but is it worth changing?

Its definitely worth changing just for the Dual Processor alone. if your doing it just because "3D" then you will be disappointed. the camera on 3d looks cheezy but 2d its the same as the og evo and not any worse.
Sense on here is great and much much smoother. Its a great phone dude and what really sells it is the Development community on here. were about to get AOSP up and running really soon and imagine that on a dual processor... It's killer.
I was in your shoes as well about a month ago... I couldnt decide between ole trust worthy 4g, or the new, and unproven 3d... I made the leap, and honestly, have not touched the 4G since.... The 3D flies!! Its incredibly fast, great screen resolution, and like mentioned above, the big names are now developing for it, which all in all makes it worth the buy... I promise if you do it, you wont look back
Came from the evo 4G, i'm besides the kickstand everything else is great, feels faster and really nice build, most developers from the evo are coming too so you'll be cover
If you don't have an Evo3d well you don't have an Evo3d
Swing for the fence bro. Get one..
Definitely worth it. the phone is fast. and things will only be getting better now that we have root
You can really tell a difference between the qHD and WVGA screen -- qHD looks noticeably better. The camera isn't a big deal for me, I am sure it will get a little better with time. It is much faster, and that is the biggest leap from the OG EVO. I wouldn't spring for the Photon, as the pentile display looks awful, and you're using a last generation chip.

How is it a last generation chip if the new one hasn't been released to the public?

Which will you go for now that the SGSII has made an appearance? Will the lack of the exynos processor efect your decision? Both are 1.5 Dual Core processors and are going to be release Oct. 26th. Sense vs. TWiz.
Galaxy s2 is gonna be better because Samsung optimize there phones much better that HTC an better screen

i'm leaning towards the ruby. i have the sgs4g right now, and even though the amoled screen is cool, i just don't watch enough videos on it due to my tablet. plus i don't like the fact that amoled screens are so dim vs. slcd. ya you don't have true blacks but the brightness factor is big issue for me. plus htc products are much more customizable. i still have my old hd2 running a port of sensations gingerbread w/ sense. if the ruby is going to be an upgraded version of the sensation there is no question. plus touchwhiz is soooo overdue for a make over. it is very bland. and though there are options to uses other launchers from market, why would i want to bother when the stock htc sense is awesome as it is. plus from what i read its supposed to have sense 3.5.
my only gripe will probably come to battery life. obviously the samsung screen is more efficient and htc has had some issues with their phones having shorter battery life prolly due to screen. i have chargers everywhere i go, but it'd be nice if the ruby had an upgraded battery that gives you a bit better phone life.
the hercules sgs2!
I'm going to buy the Ruby/amaze (whatever it called) its way better than Samsung, HTC sense and all its features, much more pretty, simpler very good screen, gr8 cam awesome device, I'm stool using my hd2 and its better than the sgs1.
I'm sure that more pepole will say that sgs2 Hercules. Is better but its on Samsung forum...
How is the hd2 ? I gave up in it a month after I bought it never realizing what xda, rooting and flashing were. All I could tell was the windows market kind of sucked.thanks

Is the galaxy s II 1.2 or 1.5 dual core processor? The Amaze is supposed to be 1.5, but I see some sites say 1.2 and other say 1.5 for the galaxy S II. I would go for the amaze in the case if it is 1.2
I've had the phone for about 3 days now, AWESOME
the resolution on this phone is amazing, coming from the HTC HD2 with MIUI
I usually download the task killer to speed up my phone on the hd2, but with this, have apps and games running flawless with no issues, I installed a lot of my old apps rom my HD2, just fast as hell, I was deciding on the SGSII, but I like how this actually feels, sturdy design wise, nice, resolution much better ! lets get MIUI on this
I've had my e3d for just about a year now. My first smartphone was the og evo and I loved it. It was the first time I got to experience life with a smartphone. I have to admit I heard about root access a few months after getting the phone. I was hesitant at first at it took a while but I eventually got too curious and had to see what this was all about. Now I work at best buy and one of the dudes from geek squad had the same phone (og evo) and he had been telling me that the way to go was cyanogenmod. So I listened, rooted my phone and played around with some sense Roms. I then downloaded cm6 and fell in love.
I eventually had a bunch of LCD screen issues with the phone... nothing too bad but I got the infamous "b spot" which was a lighter spot in the screen where the b key would be if you had the keyboard open. I had my screen replaced a few times and then eventually traded it in and payed 50 new contract for the e3d.
First impressions of the phone was overall response and load time with the stock rom being so good, which I was stoked about because the thought of having it rooted with a sick rom was orgasmic. Then revolutionary came along and got access. Rooted right away and have been happy since. This phone has some sick roms and is still, spec wise a very great phone. But when cm9 fully drops, this phone will be that much greater.
Then I hear news of the galaxy nexus and the EVO 4G LTE... I am now torn. I love tthe products HTC puts out but their dev support has been a nightmare so far... that's why I am more inclined to go with a nexus phone even though the 4G LTE looks and sounds so pretty. What are your feelings?
I hope I end up with the 4G LTE but I am still quite on the fence.

Well with the Galaxy Nexus you do get an amoled screen, an option for an official extended battery that doesn't make it look hideous, and will be first in line for updates. It seems to have a pretty decent dev following too.
I was considering getting it as well but opted for the 3D because it was half the price, still a powerhouse of a phone, and had Sense on it (which I happen to love). Only problem is 3.0 is laggy as hell, Sense 3.5 ports have tiny text and Sense 4.0 doesn't even look that good.

See I kind of like what I am seeing from sense 4.0. It looks much cleaner and lighter than previous sense overlays. Sense has always been sort of overwhelming and bulky. Idk I've played around with friends' Samsung, Motorola, and LG phones. Touch wiz seems lighter and the colors on those super amoled screens are mesmerizing. But the s LCD qhd screen on the e3d is nice. Colors seem more real. I've always found the super amoled Samsung screens to be too cartoonish... if you can understand what I'm saying. But something about them. Idk what it is. I've never liked any Motorola phone I've came across... I.e. Droid 1 2 3 4, Droid x, razr, even the photon. My friends atrix 2 is solid but I still wouldn't buy it. And LG seems to be on the fence. Making sweet phones and then not... my buddy has the g2x on t mobile. I recently rooted it for him. He likes it better with cm7 but again I don't think I would spend money on the phone.

Sense with stock ROM and kernel is laggy, but if you root and run a custom ROM and kernel, it is smooth as butter.

I am torn as well. When my contract ends, maybe they will have something better. I like the LTE in the new phone, but a nonremovable battery could be an issue for those times when the phone locks up (rooted or not).

Ive used leedroid, kingcobra and insertcoin and none of them have a smooth home screen experience, even with the supposed ultra smooth rosie tweak, it still chugs along at 20fps (or lower with several widgets). Compare it to Sense 3.5, far smoother.

I guess I wasn't specific as to the smooth as butter custom ROM . I'm running MeanROM with the Ziggy kernel. It is CDMA only and judging by your ROMs and location, you are GSM, so it would not work for you unfortunately.
I would use Sense 3.5 as it looks really slick, but all the CDMA Sense 3.5 ROMs I've looked into have issues getting my carrier's 4g working (which i rely on at work).
Looking for current opinions on which would be a better budget phone. Anyone used both? Have both? Looks like the processor in the Inc 2 is probably better, while the screen on the fascinate may be better. Though, I've heard the fascinate has had issues with GPS.
Thanks,
antEris

Incredible 2 all the way. I went back to my incredible 1 after I test drove the fascinate. I see it like this, the fassy is beautiful super model who looks out at you through that sexy screen. Then you ask her to do something for you, and she has to think about it. The incredible, is like a Midwestern farm girl. Not as pretty, but she gets the job done.....
It depends. Sorry, but it does.
If you want to stick to stock software, you want the Incredible 2 with Sense. The Inc2 has more specs than the Fascinate, really is faster, and Sense beats Touchwiz hands-down.
However, if you want to flash CM9 on it, the Fassy is fast and responsive (TW is slow and bloated) and has great support thanks to being a Nexus S sibling. Samsung crippled great hardware with TW.
You won't be sorry with either one, though.
