I have an HD2 from T-mobile that has been unlocked ( code provided by T-mobile ). It has a v2.13 of the HSPL, Ihave been trying to install a custom rom to this baby and it stays at 0% and fails to complete. I have been reading on the forum that The HSPL I need is 2.08 for this to be accomplished. 2.13 is newer so will the phone brick if I go back to 2.08? What are the pros and cons? Why does the rom burn work if the phone is already unlock?
Thanks in Advance

Hey all,
I'm a little confused as to what I need to do in order to flash a custom ROM onto my HD2. I heard that now since we have HardSPL 2 or HardSPL 3 out there, we don't need a gold card anymore. Is that correct?
Also, with HardSPL 2/3, does the application automatically detect what SPL version you have on your HD2, or does it just flash a HardSPL knowing that it'll be the correct version? My HD2 was brought from the UK, I believe it's the Euro version (512MB ROM).
Cheers,
IcedCube
hi, you will need HSPL to flash a cooked rom or a different radio. the new 3.14 OEM builds come with SPL 3.03 which will not work on vendor locked phones hence a goldcard image is needed to unlock these devices. hope thats simple enough.

Hi guys!
Im sorry if this is a repost..but i kouldnt find an exact answer..
Please help me..I bought a HD2 with T-mobile written on it..
But it has no colored end and calls keys!! Plus the Software (ROM)
version says 3.14.707.3 WWE..
So should i HSPL TMOUS or the normal HD2 WWE version??
Please help me!
Thanks!
3.14.707.3 WWE.(official rom)if you want flash custom
1. downgrade 1.66 wwe version(official rom)
2.flash HSPL3 (TMOUS and normal HD2)
3.custom rom
Sir are you taking about a T-Mous (USA) device!? Because the stock ROM 3.14.707 (as far I know is for European/Asian devices)
If this isn't a USA T-mous device don't use HSPL. If it is a USA device use HSPL3
Sounds like you've got a European T-Mobile HD2, not a US one. Regardless of that, 3.14 is the latest stock ROM, so why do you want to update SPL?
Hi everybody,
i get a problem when i tried to flash my second HD2, flashed the first one without problems
i searched for spl 3.03 and i found other threads saying that we have to flash with stock ROM but the serial number doesn't match with the mskip list...
S/N is : HT01KNW03882 is there anyone who can tell me it 's from where ?
i bought it to a guy who get it with a contract it's under Orange french ROM and i'm in france so i get this french ROM:Leo_HTC_FRA_1.43.406.2_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50.22_2
but i get this message error during a sd card method (card was formatted in FAT32), after showing me the bootloader screen, in the grey back :00028002
Not allow
and then it returns in the tri color screen
sorry for the bad english and thanks in advance
Hello sir, honestly it isn't complicated.
You mention that it is a device who came from a contract under Orange.
So it is a Orange branded device.
So conclusion; you need this ROM: RUU_Leo_S_Orange_FR-B2B_3.14.73.2 Download!
And for your info; I have verified it with your S/N
thanks for reply !
this is the ROM i had already and the only one i can get from HTC whith the S/N you'r right but i tried that and it do not change spl
i just flashed it now with SSPL and a 1.43 french stock ROM but i just want HSPL on it

Mate, Im confused..
You said you have that rom installed/flashed but didnt change the SPL?
As I know, the stock rom version 3.14 contains SPL 3.03.0000. So, your hd2 should have had that spl now.
Try to check again in case you missed something.
Also please keep in mind that SPL 3.03.0000 are not compatible with HSPL at the moment. It will cause you trouble if you install HSPL over SPL 3.03
Cheers

First of all I'm confused, If you already have this ROM; way your question about that you card find your stock ROM based on your S/N???
And secondly, way would you install stock ROM over SSPL??? Just use the normal installation proses. But in case you have HSPL on your device, remove it first. (HSPL isn't compatible with stock ROM 3.14)
was afraid when i saw that no S/N was like mine and i want HSPL because it's easy and i use it since Trinity without any probs.
flashed with SSPL because i really don't like Orange's ROM
If i understand correctly, you flashed with sspl and can't go back to hspl even after going back to stock rom. Its very easy to solve but difficult to find the required rom. All you have to do is download different kinds or should i say download an older version of the orange stock rom and install it on your device. That should solve your proplem, at least that how i was able to solve mine.

hehe, and that little piece of info is the cause of confisuion this mildly amusing thread,, , you see the only orange rom that has been released by HTC directly is the 3.14, (there is an earlier orange FR rom about, but i remember lots of people hunting high and low last summer for it) but the OP wants to downgrade to apply hspl.
@OP - give the one in post 2 a try HERE.

plz plz plz help me out
You do not have to flash HSPL to flash a official ROM but it is a good idea as it does offer a little extra protection from bricking your HD2. Now what version you want to flash is kind of dependent of what version of official ROM you want to flash. I see that you want to flash the 1.43.405.1 ROM, is this the most updated ROM for your HD2 as it is a little older ROM version. If it is you only need to flash HSPL 1.66 or 2.08 if you use this ROM. If it is a updated 3.14 ROM for your HD2 I suggest you use it and flash HSPL 3.03. To flash just hold your volume down button down while powering on to bring up the bootloader (multicolor screen). Next connect your HD2 to your computer via USB cable and wait until the serial in the white bar of bootloader changes to USB then right click on the RUU and select run as administrator and follow the on screen instructions of the RUU. You don't have to run as administrator but I always do just for added reliability.
Correction, yes he does need hspl, o2 phones, like most branded phones, are rom locked so only o2 stock roms work.
@OP yes, you are correct, hspl, then flash over USB.but that rom you chose is old, really old.
