will hd 2 get window phone 7 os as a update...
i search all over the internet and i found random answer like..
-dont meet the requiremet.
-yes
-no
-maybe
-it will get a early update.
answer like those..
can someone just give me a real answer..
it already officially announced, wm6.5 hd2 will not upgradable to wm7
.. but Im pretty sure the chefs will bring WM7 to our nice HD2
Just wait and see
i dont really need window 7 if window mobile 6.5 get like everything microsolf have to offer, like zune for mutimedia player instead of window media player, better internet exploror, more app, fixes most of the glitch.

sorry to burst Your bubble, but from the looks of it porting wp7 is not as straight forward as it seems to be. I've read on wmpoweruser few days ago, that one of the guys working on it (I think it was Da_G) struggles badly because of no drivers. as someone mentioned above, I wouldn't bet on it.

Have just tested almost all the roms using 6.5 using the latest build and all have the same issue with gaming. some just hang like FPSECE while others appear to be displaying wrongly. like a landscape game being forced portrait, half game is missing and it hangs.
this appears to be related to the BUILD since all the roms i've tried, shep, premier, nrg and others all have this problem. lol

I am not sure if this came up before but I have noticed that some games do not start, I hear the music startup sound but the game fail to initialize the display. The only possible course of action is to press the Home buttion then kill the game from the Task list.
some of the games are: Azgard Defence, Machines at war and Snails.
I am using the 2009/6/12 rom (21812). Please let me know if this is either a known issue or there is some quick setting for that.
Even with that, This ROM is really rock solid and stable in every way. Thank you

if your game uses GAPI, the API is slated to be removed sometime very soon (it is now depreciated and can be disabled with a key)

well its prolly a change brought about with 6.5 and honestly, 6.5 is still not released to the public, so dont complain that this or that doesnt work on a pretty much beta release. MS has made a lot of API changes in 6.5 unless i am much mistaken, so like Da_G said, its out of date. Now the games that you have should be updated accordingly for 6.5, but you never know...
this problem is only for the latest build, which ALL the 6.5 cooked roms are based upon.
where did i find this info.. well
google search "gapi 6.5"
http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile...-know-about-allkeys-and-input-management.aspx
Thanks for bringing this up, I thought no one cared about emulators anymore . I have the same issues with most 6.5 ROMs including sheps latest ROM. The earlier builds of 6.5, such as the mystic series worked for my SNES emulator. KforTP refused to work for me, so I simply changed the bottom buttons on the keyboard to use it. Not ideal but it worked.
I think its the recent 2 builds the previous builds seem faster and more stable with 6.5 for me.

Silly boy, The quality of a phone with capabilities like SMS, MMS, POP3, Imap, exchange push, camera, high-speed internet, music, video and GPS should be judged exclusively by its ability to play a small subset of games.

Nope, just means that the devs will have to recode slightly. It actually is better for gaming as they are not wrapping a function within a function.

Hi everybody,
I was looking around for some informations about getting wm7 for HTC HD2, but I found many results, some of them said that it will, some said not. So, do You know if there will be official update to WM7? If not - will be there any non-official ROMs? I've heard that someone already did it, but I don't know anything more about it.
Thanks
as far as i read there no wp7 for hd2 but its will ported in time by the community here
take a look in the windows phone 7 development forum. Da_G and a few others are actively working ok windows phone 7 with a couple of leak builds.
The other build you saw was never confirmed by the community.

Maybe. It really depends on how compelling the unique features are in wp7 as to whether anyone will feel compelled to work on porting it to the HD2.
I've heard that someone already did it, but I don't know anything more about it.

Someone apparently faked a video at one time showing wp7 ported to an HD2. I think they used the remote desktop app to remote to a PC running some kind of wp7 emulator.
I don't have any links to any of this information. This is just stuff I read somewhere, at sometime but I would imagine you could find the sources if you did a search using the correct search criteria. You know, stuff like "WP7 HD2 faked" and stuff like that.
I 99% sure people will attempt to port window mobile 7 to the HD2.
How successful they'll be will be is uncertain.
That's a pity that HD2 won't get official update. I like this device, and I'm happy owner of it, but personally I think that WM is restriction for this mobile. Somewere it's ugly, and slows down terribly...

HTC HD2 - 5 buttons
HTC HD7 - 3 buttons
HD2 has enought buttons , obviously more than Windows Phone 7 needs
I heard it's actually because of the extra buttons.
Not entirely sure what to make of it - whether is was real or not just came across it and thought I'd share:
Windows Phone 7 Running on HTC HD2?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f_NJatLVQk
HTC support told me that there will be upgrade for the HD2.
Windows Phone 7 devices should have only a Back-Button, Windows-Start-Button and a BING-Search-Button. Additional buttons can be e.g. Volumecontrol- or Cameracontrol-Buttons. The HD2 has no Search-Button and the Call-Accept/End-Buttons and the Home-Button are not supported natively by Windows Phone 7, thats why the HD2 never gets an official upgrade to WP7.
@TriniKing_CE: This video might be true. Cotulla is trying to port WP7 to the HD2 but he says it will be more difficult than expected! So you have to wait for a stable and full working rom!

I have to disagree, I do not think that the HD2 is "let down" by WM6.5.....
It is far and away the most versatile OS as far as I can see. Ok the actual WM interface is dated but I still find the windows version of sense to be much nicer than the android equivalent. I have been using android a lot lately and find it to be so much more restrictive than WM. However it cannot be denied that it is much more suitable for the "average user" ( I tried to phrase that without coming across as a techno snob )
As far as the free upgrade to WP7 is concerned Im afraid you were misinformed... It has been officially stated that this will not happen

I completely agree with that. WM 6.5 is a great OS and I really want to have a device running it. But most manufacturers have set up there priority to Android or Windows Phone 7. I preffer to buy a HD2, because it is the most exciting phone. It can run Android and maybe later WP7 if Cotulla get it working. But it also would be nice if any manufacturer like HTC bring out new WM 6.5 devices, because WM6.5 is not outdated.
I am a user which has no prejudices against any operating system. It is only a matter of taste which you want to have and which you need for your requirements. WM is almost the only OS, which is not addicted to any big concern. While using Android, Google is omnipresent, while using an iPhone you have restrictions from Apple everywhere. And on WM you can install what you want. I also can run non Microsoft software and if you want you can run Android by using HARET. Tell me any other OS which is able to perform a dualboot or wich is able to run a second OS parallel?! I guess there is NO!
Hi...
As you see, it is possible to flash the HD2 with Android, Bada and WP7.. but is it also possible to flash the IPhone Os on the HD2? This would be great!
mfg
kvn
No and for 99,99 % it won't be possible.
theres already a thread for this... And is it possible... It depends how you ask it.... THe HD2 is powerful enough to run it but since iOS is a closed operating system theres no real way of creating drivers and such for it.. Seeing as its only ment to run on the Iphone/iPod and iTouch there all very similar to each other while the HD2 is not
hmm if the hd2 is powerfull enough... there must be any way to flash the iOS =). I belive in the chine hackers =)..

Android and WP7 both work fine...
Android has a better support base with the HD2 since everything works right after it is installed while WP7 works but you have to activate it to use the live services unless you side load everything and at some point that becomes a nuisance..
I switch between WP7 and Android... To me android has the benefit of the amount of apps that are available and they have more quality and unique apps compared to WP7 panoramic apps that gets boring real quick.. Same layout just different name and content...
If iOS was running on the HD2 ill use it as long as you can use all the normal functions like on an iPhone.. Probably even use it as the preferred OS on it
But it won't and for now ill keep switching between android and wp7
how is it possible to aktivate ph7 on the hd2? Oo... i had it on my hd2 but i cant use the appstore... so switched back to android....
Ok but witch android rom do u use?
You need to get an activation key from Microsoft once its activated you have all the live services including the market available to you....
as for the Android rom I'm using the gingerbread asop... Its a vanilla rom.. Without all the crapware some of the other ones have...
and how can i get an activation code?? And can i use them with the cracked wp7 version? Oo...
Can you give me a link to the rom u use?

To get the activation code you have to call Microsoft and tell them that you bought and HTC windows Phone and that its asking for an activation key every time you try to sign into Windows Live.... Some are saying that they're asking for an IMEI number and that they give them their HD2's and they give them the Activation Key while others say they arent giving them... SO it really depends on the person your talking to. but if at first you don't succeed try try again and try some more.. at some point some body will be more then willing

I dont know how much safety WP or Linux can provide, but Android seems to be very easy to hack and run spyware and something on it.

I don't see what you expect either...Windows Phone 8 is new and runs on the NT kernal, not CE as all of its predecessors have. You may have also noticed more and more devices have their batteries non-removal and there is no micro SD card for a few devices and there are others like the Samsung Ativ S that has a removal battery and a micro SD slot that guess what; Samsung isn't selling in the United States. Windows Phone platform is what it is; and then there are the iPhones and Android devices and if that's your cup of tea; terrific, there's room for all. I don't care about the marketplaces, what I care about is what many of us in the Windows Mobile universe enjoyed before and that is flash conventionally...download/sideload apps conventionally and stop with locking these devices down every way which way. One of the things I like about the Blackberry of old is its simplicity - a phone, SMS, E-Mail, a web browser and you know what...it's enough. There's a platform for every taste. Choice is yours dude!

My Titan I (Eternity) - Windows Phone 7.8 is my "work" phone and to have it HSPL is like every phone I've had before...the common denominator is simplicity. But...of late Microsoft and carriers have done their level best to make the experience hard which frankly lacks common sense. The bottom line requires "all of us" not everybody pursuing an engineer/rocket science degree, not like a lot of folks are in the rocket business to start with now that robots go up in space now.
