Remove Pattern Lock X10 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all.
I work in a phone shop and we've had an X10 out on display for a few weeks. Someone has accidentally put a pattern lock on the phone and now there is not way to access the phone, as a googlemail account wasn't setup.
I have tried all of the usual things like taking the battery out, holding the left and right buttons while holding the power button, but nothing has worked so far.
I have tried repairing the software using the PC Companion software, but it does not recognise the phone, as i cannot get access to the phone to put it into "PC Mode".
Anyone got any other suggestions as to how to fix this?
Many Thanks, David.

try a hard reset my friend, turn the phone off, hold both volume buttons down and the press the power button, its tricky to et first time, but it does work, follow the instructions and youre phone will be back to when you first bought it, bad point is u will loose anything you dont have backed up
but all files saved on storage card will be there after the hardreset.

[Solved] X10 mini freezes on clock screen

I have this phne for 2-3 weeks and it never run out of battery completely. Yesterday it did and when i plugged the charger it opened and it got stuck in the clock screen. No buttons are responding only the hard reset (power button and the middle one). The screen turns on and off every one minute. It is a mess...any help is appreciated!
Solved: Thank you guys for helping. I found that the solution was to download the Update Service from SE and follow EXACTLY the steps it mentions.
Steps:
1 Deactivate the phone for 30 secs. (in this case unplug the battery once it could not close normally)
2 plug the micro USB in the phone and then the USB to the PC
3 Before plugging the USB to the pc press the back button and hold it for as it takes. it takes a while. the the update service will start formating your software and it will be as new...notice that what the sd card contrains isn't deleted
realy ther is noone with the same problem? i start to worry. please could anyone say any opinion?
Hello,
try to start your phone in save mode and then deinstall your 3. party apps.
I think the failture comes from an app.
an app could also be the reason for a verly long boot time.
her some info's about the save mode: androinica.com/2010/08/06/how-to-activate-android%E2%80%99s-safe-mode-to-get-out-of-a-force-close-loop/
hope this can help you with your problem.
My suggestion to you would be to take it back to the place where you bought it and tell them to fix it... if it's only 2-3 weeks old they shouldn't argue.

[Q] Unlocked Neo V, worked, now it wont go on

Not sure If this should be here or not. I've tried my best to search for anything similar.
I have a Sony Ericsson Neo V MT11I and I unlocked it using a program, with my USB Cable.
The unlock cost me £13 and it worked fine. I checked the phone, and It was making calls and working fine.
A few hours later, it was off, so I put in the charger and nothing. No screen or activity. The green light next to the power button comes on and If I connect it to my computer, the computer detects it, then doesn't. (I hear the new device done every minute or so). When it detects then detects its unconnected the green light flashes once.)
It was working fine after I unlocked it, but this seems to of happened hours after I unlocked it.
Thanks for any help!
Hm, sounds to me like your phone entered some sort of bootloop, it can't even go to that image which you see when you charge phone(turned off).
Maybe that's why it founds it, then it disappear, and then it founds it again, and so on.
Can you please try 2 things.
1)hold back key and connect cable to phone (of course, other side is in PC)
2)hold menu key(that's the right one, some people confuse it with home key ) and connect cable(of course, other side is in PC)
Report what happens then. To be more safe, can you please re-insert battery between 1 and 2 (and also before 1) )
Hi Buddy,
While pressing the Menu key, and connecting it, the light remains off, until I release the button. Now I've done this, there is no sound on the computer. Even If I connect it normally without pressing any key.
Thanks,
You didn't answered on my entire question.
Plus, how did you unlocked it? And by unlock, you mean SIM unlock(able to use any SIM card)?
I did that and until I let go of the menu key the light didn't come on, now it lights up upon plugin, but I hear no activity on my computer.
I used wotanserver . com/en/sony-ericsson to sim unlock it, and sorry If I was not clear!
Thanks again.
back key, back key, you didn't answer me on that part
anw, try flashing it with wotan.
Sorry for the late reply. I flashed it, and it's now working fine. I would like to thank you for your help, I'd buy you a pint If I could.

Neo V safe mode & etc. problems

Hello. Ive got to fix some problems on this phone (Neo V). There is no root, original ROM. there is still valid warranty, but I'd like to fix it myself.
1. SAFE MODE. There is always a "safe mode" notification on the screen left bottom corner. I was wondering what this feature does, I havent faced this before on other phones. Also I'd like to turn it off because it is very annoying, but havent find out how to that, because I've tried some methods but for nothing.
2. UPDATE. I cant update the software, it is GB. Tried with SEUS and Sony PC companion, but when i need to turn off phone and than connect it to PC while holding BACK key, nothing happens in those softwares. Well, the indicator becomes blue, and there is sound on pc like something has been connected to USB, but no uptade happens.
3. MENU KEY. It is not working, and the light between the HOME and MENU key is off. Is something due to the SAFE MODE? Or probably just hardware problem?
I would like to get some help or advices, I've searched for solutions by myself, but I hope there is someone who could help me.
bump
It happend in my phone too.. Bt that showd when I tried to go fast boot to recovery .. Rebooting helpd me to get rid of fast mode
Sent from my MT11i using xda app-developers app
I've done factory reset few times, it didnt help.
If it's doing it after a reset it's likely a hardware issue
Safe mode is there to boot with system apps only, if you have a problem app, it's accessed by holding volume down whilst booting, all android phones have it.
Try this first.
Back up your sdcard and anything else you don't want to lose, format the sd then
Turn the phone off remove battery for five minutes.
With no phone connected select a software repair on pc companion, insert battery do not turn on hold down only the back button and connect usb when pc companion tells you, if it persists after the repair then it's definitely hardware

maybe it is hardware problem. when I just put the battery, the gap between back and menu key starts light. I guess, it shouldnt be that way?
Neither the update nor repair cant be executed.

Sony Xperia Tablet S SGPT121US/S Hard Brick. Will not power on even to recovery mode

I checked all the other threads on this and they don't seem to apply. I have an xperia s tablet that I really like. It was becoming slow so I finally decided it was time to root. Thanks Condi for the motochopper. I got it rooted successfully but then it was running too slow to be useable. I found a program to run that was supposed to rearrange the memory the way you defrag a computer drive. After running that the tablet would only turn on to the Sony logo. I did a factory reset a couple of times and now I can not turn on at all. I get the green charge light and I can get the red single blink when I do a reset but then when I press the power button I get the white light comes on and goes right back off. I tried with the up vol, down vol and no other keys but nothing. I have tried plugging into the computer and sometimes it sees a malfunctioning USB device and sometimes it sees nothing. I have run the xperia unbricker I found on here and it says waiting for device. I tried plugging it in with that program running but no luck. The only other post I found that was related the user said it was a motherboard failure. I'm not ready for that yet. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance.
