I've had my HD2 for about 2 months now, haven't had any major problems but i've had some people recommend me to check this site out. The only things i've done so far is put CHT and a theme on, bout it. Is there really anything else to do? My friend/boss said try android, but if I don't like it, can I go back?
Some info:

Anything I should do? Clueless as to how to update things ect.
yes, there are lots of things you can do to your hd2 but I would highly recommend that you really study up on phone and see what works and doesnt work when it comes to the rom versions ect, also if you are really interested in trying to run android on your phone try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614&highlight=noobs.
Im a noob too. Going to check out some of these guides. Just dont want to brick my phone. Dont think Tmobile would give me a phone.

I recently purchased a Himalaya XDAIIi that is currently locked to O2. I want to use it in the US on TMobile. Can someone help get me started in upgrading the radio, OS, and the ROM. I have been reading all the different threads on the forum, but not sure what if anything will work on the XDAIIi or where to even start.
I am really new to the XDA scene, and would greatly appreciate any suggestions so I can start using this apparently awesome device.
Current stats:
ROM version: 1.10.00 WWE
ROM date: 12/24/04
Radio version: 1.00.00
Protocol version: 1337.39
ExtROM version: 1.10.124 WWE
Will upgrading the ROM unlock the phone?
Thanks in advance for any help.
To date I don't know of any rom upgrdes for this device, whilst there is one planned from O2 it has not been released yet
i think you mean unlocking and not upgrading/...
as far as unlocking go ..there are quite a few threads on this forum regarding that.. personally i used imei check .com..
as far as upgrading goes.. none exists as no upgrade rom has been released yet...
jump on the bandwagon.. were all waiting for it..
co-signing with Zohaer on imei-check. I found them to be excellent.

Thanks for the help. I guess I will get in line for waiting for upgrades. Unfortunately, since I am in the US, I'm not sure I will be able to take advantage of any released by O2. I guess I have to hope TMobile will pick up the XDAIIi at some point.
I will keep checking back if you come across any updates. I will give IMEI-check a look.
Have either of you upgraded to WM2005? Would that be a good idea? Sounds like its full of great features.

I'm a newbie to Pocket PC, so this may be silly, but been hunting around this forum all day and unable to get things straight in my head.
My problem is this...
I have a i-mate pocket PC I purchased 2nd hand from ebay. Has Telstra's config stuff all thought it (inc splash screen).
Im connected with Vodafone, and I've just enabled GPRS, but I cant seem to connect. I think its all to do with all this Telstra stuff thats in my PDA, and so I started looking into Roms, and the extended Rom (was all very new to me, and I'm now a little confused). I need the configurability back. I cant currently do much with the config as its all biased towards telstra (ie I cant change the phone number, or email servers, or even my email address. all I can change is the username part of the email address).
When I started looking into Rom/Radio versions, it dont seem to make a lot of sense.
My device details are;
ROM version: 1.72.00WWE
ROM date: 03/15/04
Radio version: 1.14.00 <-???
Protocol version: 1337.24
ExtROM version: 1.72.871
Microsoft Pocket PC Version 4.20.0 (Build 14053)
Model No: PH10B
I dont understand how the Radio version can be higher then the latest reported here, and I dont know if thats relevent, or if I downgrade that I'll be able to get to configure things, or if its totally unrelated...
I noticed the 2005 thread, and thought that would solve my problems, but thats no longer available.
Do I need to install a new OS, or just the Extended rom stuff from somewhere to get the configurability I need, or am I completely missing the plot here?
Help! What have I gota do to get some network configability back in my PDA?
Thanks in advanced.

PS. Never used a forum before, so I hope I posted this into the right place...
Hi and welcome
Could you be in the wrong forum?
Please verify the picture of your device against the ones in the index
http://forum.xda-developers.com/index.php
The model number and Rom Versions seem not to match those for the Blueangel.
If this is the case I will move the post to that section once I know which one.
For here your device needs to have a slide out keyboard, does it?
Moved from blueangel section as this is xda II.
Hey all, first post here, and I apologise if this has been asked before.
I was recently given a i-Mate Pocket PC Phone Edition (Himalaya) PH10B
Now here in Australia we have our huge semi government run telco Telstra, well they like to brand things for themselves and make it difficult for those of us using the cheaper and less expensive competition by branding and completely configuring everything in their image.
Though the phone is unlocked, I've found that if I want to update I have to use the special ROM upgrade located here:
https://www.imate.com/Support_DeviceSupport.aspx?key=05848f0f-a523-4f33-8c33-6ef5e10cd5ad&cmd=roms
Bah, I don't want it, I want to be able to do things with my PPC, like say use an XDAII ROM to upgrade to Windows Mobile 5 or even 6, but as I'm a big noob to anything other than Symbion OS I'm kinda stuck for how to go about blasting away the Telstra BS and properly updating and configuring MY phone for how I want it.
So, Has anyone found a way to do this? Is it possible? I've tried some of the tools, but nothing wanted to work. Any ideas?
Cheers, and thanks in advance.
Oh, thought I'd add some specs to assist:
ROM Version: 1.52.00WWE
ROM Date: 10/23/03
Radio Version: 1.10.00
Protocol Version: 1337.18
ExtROM Version: 1.72.871
Hi this is my first post on this forum, I have read alot and i tried to run android on my HD2 but i found out that my radio was too low for the requirements.
My question is if I update my firmware from HTC itself... will it update my radio aswell? I don't know what rom to download from HTC as there are so many.
Here are some few details of my HD2:
OS Version: 5.2.21864
Manila Version: 2.5.19202525.0
ROM Version: 1.43.405.1 (70124) WWE
Rom date: 10/26/09
Radio Version: 2.04.50.22_2
Protocol Version: 15.26.50.07U
Flash size: 512mb
How can I run android on this phone and how can I get an official update as I have no trust in unofficial updates.
THANK YOU
its a regular hd2, or a telstra hd2. either way, none of the official updates for it contain a high enough radio for android..
where did people get the stock roms then? and whats the best way to get android on my phone by just running it on SD and how can i just patch just the radio and is it only the radio that needs to get patched?
they get stock roms from the thread in rom development called "leo official roms". but as i said, i'm pretty sure android needs a radio of 2.10.50 or so to work best, and the x.x.50 radios come from the tmous roms, so you would need to hspl to flash those radios..
your best option rather than asking here is to go read the android section. there are a few "how to"s in there will tell you all about it.

Hello... I have an American HTC HD2 (T-Mobile only) and used it a bit then upgraded to WP7. But then I moved to another country and I couldn't use the sim cards on my locked WP7 phone. So I gave it to a specialist and told him to unlock it. When I got the phone back it was WP 6.5 and Im okay with that, but what Im not okay with is that Twitter(peep) says Im forbiden to enter the server, etc and the only solution is to update to the lastest version, so
If I update my unlocked US HTC HD2 will it get re-locked and If not, where can I update, because Im not sure to use the US T-mobile update or to use the UK HTC update ... Help me please.
My Software Info - so Im totally clear:
OS version:
5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94)
Manilla ver:
2.5.20181527.0
ROM ver:
3.14.405.2 (04666) WWE
ROM Date:
09/29/10
Radio version:
2.15.50.14
Protocol version:
15.42.50.11U
also some Hardware Info, if necessary
RAM size:
578MB
Flash Memory Size:
1024MB
I give so much information because I want to be sure that I wont get my phone bricked or get it re-locked, because a new phone and/or re-unlocking isn't cheap
Any feedback will help!
Once unlocked it will always be unlocked,no matter what you do to it.
3.14 is already the latest version and you can ONLY use tmous roms. Just because the sim has been unlocked does not change that. Flash any non tmous stock rom and you will have a brick.
BUT, here comes the weird bit,,, that rom you have flashed (3.14.405) is the wwe rom, not the tmous rom, which I found a little unexpected, however my previous comment stands, you should stay away from stock roms that aren't tmous roms.
I would be tempted to go for a NRG WM6.5.3 ROM & if Twitter is still a problem you could try MoTweets ... NRG ROM is about the best HD2 WM6.5.3 experience available ...
