[Q] HD2 Bluetooth and Windows 7 x64 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently bought a belkin mini bluetooth dongle for my laptop running Windows 7 x64 pro.
When I've tried to connect the HD2 to the laptop, I can discover the phone and add it but then not all the drivers load. One of them comes back with a "no driver found" error.
Is there a known solution for this problem?

I have the same problem. Did you find a solution?

I did, just this week in fact!
Ignore the driver loading error
On the phone, open the active sync application, hit the menu and select connect via bluetooth.
Now I just need to find a way for it to connect automatically when it's in range of the laptop bluetooth

i've used a guide similar to this:

my hd2 and pc

i am really tired from a problem with my hd2 i can‘t connect my hd2 with pc (( usb cable )) i did every thing and i couldnt recognize it i am really desperate can anybody help ?
Might
help if you mention what Windows/system you are running on your pc
the operation system is windows 7
Do
you have the Windows Mobile Device Center installed?
Have you tried a Disk Drive connection, under connections USB to PC?
I do know for a fact some people simply solved the problem just by using another USB port...
Might be worthwhile checking your firewall too, I believe some can block the active sync connection

thank you for your post i did everything you wrote the problem still my hd2 doesnt recognize to my pc i am planning to sell my phone because og this
Havent used WP7 yet, but in WM6.x there is something in Settings for USB connection - this gives you the ability to check a box that says (something like) Fast Outlook connection. If you uncheck this you will probably find that your HTC connects beautifully. So, again, trawl through your setup/settings and look for something that talks to USB connection, or PC Synch.
Hope this helps.
Uninstall all versions of Windows Mobile Device Centre then reboot, just install the latest update from of WMDC from Microsoft and plug your HD2 in.
It worked for me and I'd tried everything else.

I'm having the same problem also, but I am using Windows Vista. I tried just about everything the forum mentions its pretty frustrating. I've tried uninstalling and installing WMDC and tried different USB ports, also tried selecting a few of the different settings on the phone in the USB to PC. Does anyone know what possibly I am missing or not doing correctly?

I number of my friends had the same problem concerning the connection and when they did the above it fixed the problem. I suggest everyone give it a go.
Still having problems with this... I've uninstalled rebooted and installed and reboot WMDC and also messed with all the settings on USB to PC and tried every single USB port on my computer. I am running Windows Vista 64 bit version and still not having any luck getting this phone to connect via USB. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you uncheck the "enable faster synchronization" option? Might help with getting ActiveSync to start working.
HD2 not recognized by Windows XP
Hi, I have similar problem, when I attach my HD2 to PC (windows XP with Active Synch installed), notting happens apart form my phone start being charged.
The option on the HD2 to ask always what to do is unabled but nothing happens.
Unable fast data synch is disabled.
The phone is not visible even as external drive in Explorer.
In Device Manager on PC there is nothing strange (what I should look here for??!!).
The strange thing is in the past this HD2 was working perfectly with another PC...
When plugged it was presenting disk drive or active synch ooption and was visible in Explorer..
What I should do?
I have a same problem. Since a few days my phone just charging on USB. I booted an android and the USB was working fine, so I decided to update the Winmo rom (Miri 23.0v). Nothing happened. I update/downgraded the rom and radio (from 2.10 to 2.14) as well but the issue still exists. It can be a hardware related problem because the android is working fine. Any idea?
connection problem
I am experiencing the exact same problem. my phone gets charged through the usb but doesn't connect to active sync or as disc drive. doesn't even ask about usb connection type even though its checked.
another problem i am having is that when i open the phone dialer it opens in the landscape mode.

Somebody please help!!!

Anyone having trouble pairing with Windows 7?

Is anyone else having trouble with the bluetooth on this phone? Unfortunately I don't have any other devices I can use to troubleshoot with. Windows 7 can't find my Vibrant when searching that direction.
When searching for my PC from the vibrant it shows up on my phone but I am never prompted on my PC even though I have the Alert me box checked. I get one of two results:
1. I'm prompted to confirm a random pin number, but a few seconds after clicking accept I am provided a message saying "Unable to pair with PC. Incorrect PIN or password"
2. Directly to "Unable to pair with PC. Incorrect PIN or password" prompt
I'm using Windows 7 Home upgrade 64bit and this dongle:
ASUS USB-BT21 USB 2.0 Mini Bluetooth Dongle
Any thoughts?
Windows 7 Pairing Issue
I am encountering a situation where my GSII is "seen" by the Win7 laptop on a "new connection", and then lists the device in its device window, but the GSII does not show the pairing on its end, and when I attempt to "connect" from the Win7 PC to the GSII, I get a message "PAN Server"...will not permit connection, and "incorrect PIN" ...or other. Trying to use the new bluetooth sync mechanism for DejaOffice.

USB tethering woes

So I've been tethering with wifi no problem since I got the phone. I can not for the life of me however get it to tether via USB. I've tried it on two separate window 7 x64 laptops with the OEM USB cable with no luck. Made sure udb debug was disabled, made sure drivers were correct, tried rebooting both the phone and computers. I'm on the official tethering plan so that isn't the issue. Tried the MTU trick the Mac guys hander been using, still no good. When I connect the phone, it recognizes it as a network device, RNDIS, and says it can see the DHCP server, but it assigns some random 169 IP instead of a 192.
Anyone else having this problem?

Update. Called VZW and went through the normal insult my intelligence troubleshooting. They handed me off to moto and we repeated the same song and dance. They suggested I try the mtu workaround, which I had already tried. Then the guy pissed me off by asking "why do you want to use USB anyway? Can't you just use wifi?" I asked "you mean wifi, with it's known bugs?" He dropped that lol. He couldn't fix it, so he submitted an "engineering ticket". We'll see what comes of it I guess.

I can't get Verizon's USB tethering to work either. Verizon's Wifi hotspot works for my laptop but not the kindle fire.
I'm thinking of canceling my tethering plan since I got easy tether to work and then I use Intel's my wifi to share the internet connection. My kindle can then connect to the wifi shared by the laptop and I can even watch Amazon instant videos.
Verizon's wifi hotspot and USB tethering is a fail for me.
Well, I decided to tinker with it some more. This time I unrooted it, then did a factory wipe and lo and behold...USB tethering works. Haven't tried re-rooting it to see if that breaks it as there currently isn't really a strong need to root anyway. We'll see how long this lasts I guess.
Same problem for me with Vodafone.
Although Wi-Fi tethering is working like a charm, USB tethering fails on routing connections.
It can't resolve hostnames...
It's not a data plan problem, it is mobile equipment failing
Any new ideas?
Hi, I am also trying to use the RAZR's built-in USB tethering feature with no success on Windows 7 64-bit. The Remote NDIS driver from Microsoft seems to act very badly once the RAZR is connected... basically the whole "Network Connection" Windows function completely locks up.
I CAN tell you guys that this works perfectly with Windows XP SP3. I actually connected my RAZR via USB to a Windows SP2 machine that had RNDIS hotfix KB959765 appiled to it.
With that Windows XP setup, USB tethering over RNDIS works perfectly! So can someone tell me how things got so badly screwed up in Windows 7?
I saw this exact same failure when I tried tethering to Windows XP SP2 without the RNDIS hotfix applied, so are there still some unresolved problems with RNDIS in Windows 7?
I would suggest that you download "easy tether"... when.you run the app it will give you a website to download the win 7 x64 version... when both are running, and you enable USB tethering on the phone.... you will have no more problems....

Isn't there any solution without a software on the pc? Cause at my office I am not andmistrator and I doubt that they would allow to install such a software to use pc's internet connection for my mobile..
I wonder because my old HD2 with a andriod rom could do this without any software with any pc just fine..

bluetooth issue help

got this problem with my Sony tablet s
it says paired to the device but not connected
no matter what i do it still doesn't connect to the device ,ive tried my pc
my galaxy s 2
had to unpair them again and again but still no luck
have also tried to turn the WiFi off but stil same problem
has any got the same problem
any comments
It would probably be helpful to know what devices specifically you're trying to pair and which side you're using to start the connection. Try and be as specific as possible.
im trying to to connect my pc running vista with it and other way areound it pairs but cant connect
.same with my galaxy s2 running ics
it recognises the pc and sends a code for it to pair but then it says paired but not connected in the tablet s
any comments
thanks
Same problem
If the combo of PC <---> Sony Tablet
and of PC <---> Galaxy S2
gets the same result, then it's probably the PC.
If that's not what you're saying then go into the Bluetooth Devices section of your Vista PC and see if the Sony is appearing there. If so, right click on it and choose Connect. If it's not listed, then you haven't paired it right.
Sorted after the ics update
