Is anyone else having trouble with the bluetooth on this phone? Unfortunately I don't have any other devices I can use to troubleshoot with. Windows 7 can't find my Vibrant when searching that direction.
When searching for my PC from the vibrant it shows up on my phone but I am never prompted on my PC even though I have the Alert me box checked. I get one of two results:
1. I'm prompted to confirm a random pin number, but a few seconds after clicking accept I am provided a message saying "Unable to pair with PC. Incorrect PIN or password"
2. Directly to "Unable to pair with PC. Incorrect PIN or password" prompt
I'm using Windows 7 Home upgrade 64bit and this dongle:
ASUS USB-BT21 USB 2.0 Mini Bluetooth Dongle
Any thoughts?
Windows 7 Pairing Issue
I am encountering a situation where my GSII is "seen" by the Win7 laptop on a "new connection", and then lists the device in its device window, but the GSII does not show the pairing on its end, and when I attempt to "connect" from the Win7 PC to the GSII, I get a message "PAN Server"...will not permit connection, and "incorrect PIN" ...or other. Trying to use the new bluetooth sync mechanism for DejaOffice.

I have an Advantage x7500. I've installed the WM6 ROM here. My problem is I can't connect to my Advantage via Windows Mobile Device Center on my Vista box or ActiveSync on my XP box. The computer makes the expected sound when the USB connection is made, and in ActiveSync I can explore the device, but that's it. In WMDC, the error message for RapiMgr is "Windows Mobile-based device failed to connect due to communication (0x80072745) failure (see data for failure code)." I've done a lot of searching before I posted this and found a lot of posts (so at least I'm not alone). I've disabled firewalls, AV, anti-spyware, but no change. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled WMDC and ActiveSync. I do notice in Device Manager no Windows Mobile Remote Adapter under the Network Adapters node. Under the Mobile Devices node is HTC USB Sync. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I've been beating my head on wall on this. Thanks.

Thanks, but been there, done that. (I didn't want to waste everyone's time so I did use the search button first)
As I mentioned in my prior message, in Device Manager there is no Windows Mobile Remote Adapter under the Network Adapters node. Do those of you using WM6 have such an entry for that adapter?
.
I have the same problem, but in Vista.
Sync has been working fine, but now suddenly it wont connect.
.
ps: sync on my SPV C500 works perfect. It's only my X7500 that won't connect.
..
lo and behold.....xman06's solution in the other tread worked for me.
"Try to go on setting connection usbtopc and disable advanced network functionality and ok"
perfect

Thanks, but been there and done that too. (The downside of searching first is that all the usual solutions have been tried)
Tell me, under Device Manager do you have Windows Mobile Remote Adapter under the Network Adapters node? And under the Mobile Devices node do you have HTC USB Sync? I'm missing the former; that may be the issue but I'm not sure not knowing if others have it or not.
I bit the bullet and did a hard reset (too bad that doesn't work on spouses ) and ActiveSync started working again.
Kaiser / TyTN II WMDC Activesync no connection
I have the same issue described above. And no, the solutions given don't work. Not even a hard reset.
I am not sure what the issue is. Any ideas?
Similar problem solved
I had the same problem and went through many steps like those posted in this forum. I'm going to show my steps to solve this problem without hard reset your phone.
1) When the phone is connected, at the phone ActiveSync setting delete the PC profile.
2) Unplug the phone from the PC.
3) Uninstall and then reinstall the ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Center.
4) At phone system setting -> About -> make sure there is a name ID. Without this the PC cannot identify the phone and thus cannot sync.
5) Set the USBtoPC with 'advance network..." enabled.
6) To the extreme, before step 3, go to PC windows\inf and remove infcache.1 (need to add in an administrators account and set the privilage to full control). That may remove old corrupted drivers.
This page was coming up on the top list of google so i'll post my solution here.
I also spent hours trying to find the problem
uninstalled/reinstalled WMDC/Downloaded the latest version etc/Hard reset TYTN II/followed endless google searches,followed the instructions here etc etc.
Similiar to the OP i had windows making the "normal ding dong sounds but no connection happening.
In the finish what fixed my problem was with the device plugged in go to Device Manager on the PC and in "Network Adapters" select "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter" and right click "Update Driver Software"
That got me back connected.....Hope it helps someone else out
Did it worked? I can't install WMDC without having my Pocket PC conected and when I have it it doesn't install anyway...
hey guys, if you have firewall installed disable it until the connection is made with your computer and phone, then re-enable your firewall.
this seems to be the problem solution for me all the time. Hope it helps.
I have an issue with my VZW Touch Pro not being recognized by MDC and have torn out what little hair I had left trying to solve it. I know there are numerous threads of this type and I've read every one I can find but my situation is a bit different (aren't they all ).
Basically, when I hook up the TP via USB to my Vista machine MDC doesn't come up. If I launch it manually it comes up, sometimes flashes the "Connecting" message very briefly then goes to "Not Connected" and sits. OK. So why am I baffled and what have I done? Well....
1. If I set the TP to connect as a "Disk Drive" (as opposed to ActiveSync) Vista recognizes it and asks me if I want to explore files and folders, I can see the storage card;
2. In PC to USB I've tried both WITH Advanced Device Configuration enabled and not enabled;
3. I've installed Activesync on another (XP) machine to see if the TP will connect to it and get the same behavior;
4. I've removed the Remote Adapter and USB Synch in Device manager (following the standard MS troubleshooting guide) so that Vista installs the USB driver, just to make sure;
5. I INITIALLY installed MDC on this machine when I was trying an HTC Fuze. At that time MDC worked fine, recognizing the Fuze and asking me what I want to sync, etc.;
6. Since that time I've uninstalled and reinstalled MDC (several times) JUST IN CASE, although it shows NO existing partnerships;
7. I've turned off and actually removed the firewall even though, as I said, MDC worked fine before.
8. On the TP I've set ActiveSync (I'm hooking to an Exchange Server) to sync "Manually" and Windows Live to sync "Manually", JUST IN CASE that was the problem.
The only reason I really even NEED MDC is that I want to use eWallet and need to sync between the PC and Touch Pro.
I've used the TP as a modem for my laptop via Modem Link successfully, but while ML is set to USB the service is Stopped. Would THAT have any affect on this: one thing I've noticed is that when I plug the TP in the PC (sometimes) displays a message to the effect that it's trying to connect to a wireless LAN?????
Sorry for the length of this message but I figure the more info the better and this really has me stumped.
Thanks for any ideas.
if this helps yo in any way here it is.
i tryed to hook up my TP via WMDC on a Toshiba Tecra Laptop, with USB or Bluetooth and in the best case i managed to send files via bluetooth ... and the WMDC does not recognize the device, it installs some drivers for the cable (i think) and does not find any for the device, so ... it does the same thing as for you, tryes to connect for a second and after that it goes on a endless brake ... never connecting
on the other hand, i had no problems with a dell inspiron, with wista, it installed the drivers instantly and got connected immediately. the same with a Win XP dektop PC using activesync ...
i`m beggining to believe that the software is sort of defective on the toshiba. now i just send file from it and us the dell to sync my TP. i gave up on connecting the toshiba.
Pretty sure you have already tried this...but different USB cord maybe?

Thank you!! Solved my problem.
This seems to happen a lot... I just replied to another post in regards to this (though they replaced their Touch Pro). Instead of disabled advanced network functionality (which does let you sync), you should try this to repair the error as it has worked on a friend's Pro, as well as mine (I just had to do it 40 minutes ago). And make sure you re-enable advanced network functionality BEFORE doing this:
1 - Hook up phone to computer
2 - On phone, start ICS (Internet Sharing in Start -> Programs)
3 - Select PC Connection "USB" and Network Connection of any type (if Sprint stock ROM, I recommend using "Sprint")
4 - Hit the "Connect" soft-key (bottom left)
If you've never used Internet Sharing on the phone, your computer should install some drivers... Once that is completed, click the Disconnect left soft-key on the phone. Now disconnect the cable from the computer.
Close out ICS or soft-reset the phone.
Once the phone is back up, plug it in - it should work.
I don't know what is getting reset in the phone, but unless I connect with ICS, then ActiveSync will not connect whether I soft-reset or not.
I recently bought a belkin mini bluetooth dongle for my laptop running Windows 7 x64 pro.
When I've tried to connect the HD2 to the laptop, I can discover the phone and add it but then not all the drivers load. One of them comes back with a "no driver found" error.
Is there a known solution for this problem?

I have the same problem. Did you find a solution?
I did, just this week in fact!
Ignore the driver loading error
On the phone, open the active sync application, hit the menu and select connect via bluetooth.
Now I just need to find a way for it to connect automatically when it's in range of the laptop bluetooth
i've used a guide similar to this:

Hi,
I have a problem with my hd2. when I connect it to my pc windows7 x64 i can not choose the connection type. Always it show to me "internet sharing" window. In usb to pc I have checked "Ask me first about USB connection type when I connect the device to the PC" but it doesn't help. Also when I try to open "usb to pc" window, the "internet sharing" window is opened at first. How can I solve this problem?
Settings > Micellaneous > USB to PC connection, choose on either Active Sync or Disk Drive.

Did you uncheck the "enable faster synchronization" option? Might help with getting ActiveSync to start working.
HD2 not recognized by Windows XP
Hi, I have similar problem, when I attach my HD2 to PC (windows XP with Active Synch installed), notting happens apart form my phone start being charged.
The option on the HD2 to ask always what to do is unabled but nothing happens.
Unable fast data synch is disabled.
The phone is not visible even as external drive in Explorer.
In Device Manager on PC there is nothing strange (what I should look here for??!!).
The strange thing is in the past this HD2 was working perfectly with another PC...
When plugged it was presenting disk drive or active synch ooption and was visible in Explorer..
What I should do?
I have a same problem. Since a few days my phone just charging on USB. I booted an android and the USB was working fine, so I decided to update the Winmo rom (Miri 23.0v). Nothing happened. I update/downgraded the rom and radio (from 2.10 to 2.14) as well but the issue still exists. It can be a hardware related problem because the android is working fine. Any idea?
connection problem
I am experiencing the exact same problem. my phone gets charged through the usb but doesn't connect to active sync or as disc drive. doesn't even ask about usb connection type even though its checked.
another problem i am having is that when i open the phone dialer it opens in the landscape mode.
Both problems occurring with Win Xp/7 on PC and Winmo 6.5 1.66/3.14 on HD2
Somebody please help!!!
Not a Pro here, if this post needs to be in different subforum, admins please help and move so this finds ppl that need it... I found this to fix my EXTREMELY Frustrating "will not connect" PROBLEM that seems to be VERY COMMON. Sometimes it would connect at random, some times not at all, sometimes would connect one time after install then never again. THIS WORKS ON MY Win10 but may work on other Windows versions...... *Here is my windows 10 FIX:...... *Go to "All Settings" page,...... *Go to "Network & Internet",...... *Go to "Network & Sharing Center",...... *Go to "Change Adapter Settings". Now on this page it shows all your network adapters, Wireless adapter card, Ethernet/Lan card, and one called "TAP-Win32 AdapterV9". (THIS IS THE ONE that needs to be enabled for ClockworkMod to communicate with your phone, I believe it is a VPN Virtual Private Network adapter (Software, not Hardware?) that kinda simulates Ethernet through USB/WIRELESS type connection? The actual adapters on mine were labeled "Ethernet , Ethernet2 and" Wi-Fi". Ethernet 2 was named "Network 3" but I think the names have no bearing on this fix, WHAT each adapter actually is what's important...... *FIRST, DISABLE the "Ethernet Connection",...... *Then ENABLE the "TAP-Win32 AdapterV9",...... I've kept the "Wireless Adapter" ENABLED with no interference probs so far...... Your ClockworkMod should connect and turn green now! This has worked on several "won't connect" Windows 10 laptops of mine!!! May work for you, may not, but dang sure worked for all my probs I'm also trying to install ClockworkMod Tether on an XP laptop, it seems TAP-Win32 AdapterV9 is not in the Network Connections screen and I will have to manually download TAP-Win32 through a different Teathered Win10 laptop and manually install it as it may not be bundled with the old XP OS (still working on this, no results to report yet) ... I believe the TAP-Win32V9 is a Virtual Network Adapter app that allows ClockworkMod Tether to network with our phones! If I'm wrong or right let me know! I am a Rank Amateur after all ? the next challenge is to network all laptops and devices together to where all can access internet data through one laptop that's Teathered to this one cellphone...
Confirmed, I have done this same thing on my Windows XP laptop and have fixed the "will not connect". Had probs disabling the ether net adapter, said In use by other apps or users, cannot disable at this time (to paraphrase) ... Googled for methods to fix that from command line, that worked. Now Clockwork Mod Tether work reliably on all my Windows PC's!
Waited? here has been getting the same error while connecting but yet no any site did resolve out this issue, what would be the reason behind it? expected amazeinvent did but which command line or any other option make it resolve? or can do something? do you guys have any idea about it?
