tried it totday has a similar footprint uses up a lot of memory and the interface is not so easy... as pocket informant... actually i can live with the calendar and contacts provided wotht he OS tasks (and the today plugin) is what i need to get upgraded.. with the voice commander i am very comfortable witht he other 2 items...
the today plugin for TASKS really needs an ypgrade doesnt show info only the # of tasks pending/due
thanks though...
tAgenda
Check out tAgenda (freeware).
Also check out TaskPlus v1.33.
TaskPlus v1.33 can be found at:

thanks both of you.. liked both the programs but stuck with tagenda... is a better replacement for calender+ and does the tasks thing i wanted...
appreciate it
Yeap tAgenda is what I use just wanted to let you know that there were others. Glad to here you like!

I upgraded to a Wizard and unfortunately tAgenda, which i loved so much, does not work under WM5. I already mailed the author a month ago, but he seems to have vanished. What I am looking for is a similar app, but WM5 compatible. Just a plug-in that combines tasks, calendar and message count. tAgenda had a smal footprint in memory, that's why I loved it so much. Does anyone know of a similar app, that is suited for WM5?
I currently use SPB Mobile Shell as my navigation software for everything. I like the functionality of the software however there are a few things that I dont' care for.
Weather is innaccurate
The program sucks up RAM after running for a while.
I don't have anything on my today screen of WM since i use SPB for everyting i just keep it open with spbwatcher. I am looking for something to replace mobile shell with that will run quicker and take up less RAM after running for a while. Any reccomendations from prior Mobile Shell users? Thanks in advance!
I used to use mobile shell all the time but found myself using the navigation system less and less realistically... I didn't like the amount of memory it takes either, and it was debatable whether or not it was actually causing some kind of a leak on my device... Also, one of my MAIN gripes for not using is it is the fact that it didn't show all-day events on the calendar and it really wasn't all that friendly to appointments and stuff like that...
I found myself going to the today screen most of the time so I ended up just finding tools to enhance that to the point where I had everything I needed.
I use this combo for navigation and functionality:
personal digital clock - PDC for the friendly clock..
quickmenu - the BEST way to navigate through your device and tons of other features.. a must have for sure
spb weather - very simple and clean weather app which works efficiently
resco today plugin - I overlooked this lil guy for a LONG time but realized its usefullness just recently.. i disable all the bars except the app launcher portion and find it easy to include pretty much every app I use on a regular basis to 1 row of icons... no paging around menus to launch something... 1 click and im off.
Just my personal preference.. u can see images of my today screen if you're interested if you click on my avatar and go into the gallery there is a larger one.
HTC Home for the win! Customize it with HTC Home Customizer from Emu and it's a no brainer (It will download the HTC Home for you).
Calendar Plus
and Slither's Cube with TouchfloSL
agreed
Give HTC Home, Home Customizer...and try Battery Status, Vista Hide Battery Gauge.
I definitely thought Mobile Shell sucked power, ram and didn't do everything I needed.
I'm a big fan of SPB Mobile Shell, but the weather inaccuracies have really annoyed me. I just like the functionality so much, though, that I can't quite get myself to kick it...

Pocket Plus has all the additional features from shell that don't hog memory (at least for me) and I use HTC home for the shell feeling. Much slimmer than Shell and better looking IMHO.
throttle launcher
I am waiting for the next release of throttle launcher....it's a bit of a hog...but the feature set is amazing.
Qucik Menu ,UL and RLToday

ditto...sortof.
I really like it, its almost exactly what I was looking for, but at the same time, its almost too much for the Titan, IMHO.
Personally I'd like to have a Throttle Launcher that functions more like a cross between HTC Home and SPB Mobile Shell.
What is the latest version of Slither's Cube? I am trying it now as a replacement for MS, but I am having issues with the screen going blank and nothing opening up. Not sure if I grabbed the latest one...Google had way too many hits
Also, is there an easy way to customise it? THe big thing I liked about MS was the ability to edit the menus, create a GPS button that had all the programs. I also like the analog clock..but I will fight with that later
Thanks for the Feedback
Thanks to all who have posted their feedback on alternatives to SPB Mobile Shell. I am not sure what route I will take next but this is certaintly helpful.
S2U2 fully replaces SPD MS today screen. Ultimate launcher 1.2 is excellent for program launching. SPD weather is great. SPD phone suite is nice for email sms etc.. notifications. SPD phone suite is also very good.
Obviously there is no "best" shell out there. The "best" one is the one that works for you.
I've been running spb mobile shell for a while now and absolutely love it. I've tried other shells and keep coming back to spb.
I've also never experienced any memory problems with it so I dont know what other people are complaining of. My guess is that its a combination of the shell and other stuff they have installed, and not the shell itself. But thats more of a M$ windows thing...
You may want to look into Winterface - interesting, but like I said, I ended up going back to spb.
I've also added spb phone suite and with the shell, provide me great business features without sacrificing performance.

I have to agree with deez. Any Memory issues I have had with Mobile Shell have come from other apps I have had installed with it. It is a hog, but I think well worth it.
i use the spb home tab along with the htc home plugin. this comes in handy with the 12 icons you can set with spb. also with the apps button on htc home it gives you 21 shortcuts from your homescreen.
the only other part of spb i use is the contacts page as most of my calls are covered by these 16 choices
I also have had no problems with memory issues with Mobile Shell. Love it to death.
I honestly don't think there are memory problems due to sbp mobile shell... it's moreso a memory problem in wm in general and the fact that you have appx 1.5mb less, due to having mobile shell loaded, is what makes people think it has a memory leak.
try not using it for a while and you'll see you still get your memory sucked dry... it's just a difference of 1.5mb
I've tried all the app launchers I could find. I found that they are all usefull in unique ways. The best one in my opinion is pointui. And, fortunately, it is totally free. I still chose however to remove them all and just keep the good old htc home. They all consume ram that is just too precious to the mogul. You are basically trading one struggle for another. Either you struggle with the stylus or you struggle with the ram loss. Instead I chose to just customize the appearance of my phone. The enlage start menu helps a bunch too. Now with dcd 3.2.4 I will settle the performance and patiently wait for the next titan replacement with the proper amount of ram.
Hello my wonderful community!
Recently I've switched from the old WM 6.1 to the WM 6.5 and I must admit I'm lovin the Titanium interface. Its even more usable for me than the new Manilas. But theres only one thing missing. A Titanium plugin displaying Opera bookmarks. Now I know there was Showaco's plugin for this but it doesnt work with the new Opera 9.7 as the file which stored the bookmarks for Opera seems to be gone. So my humble request... would anyone be interrested in developing a new plugin which works with the new opera? Even if its impossible to read the bookmarks from Opera or Manila, even manual adding of bookmarks for example would also do the job right? Thix for reading

I recall there is a thread with an opera fix to fix that bookmarks issue on new opera versions, and then use the existing OperaFav plugin

Saw that fix, tried it... doesn't work:/
By the way I'm shocked to see that the developement of plugins for Titanium has stopped... Doesnt anyone appreciate it anymore?

The fix worked for me. There are still new plugins coming out, like Playit, Speeddial or AppLauncher or JMLLauncher etc. Also JML is expanding his Today plugin to incorporate more information. Of course there not many new plugins anymore as this has been saturated and almost everything has been covered, so there is not anymore so much need.

Yes and no
I think we are only at the beginning, what's possible with Titanium (it's too much undocumented - only with the findouts which comes more and more, we get more)
Look at TouchFlo: How much "Panels" do you have? 10,12?
In Titanium there are almost 30 Plugins available - some are old, some are newer.
And I must admit - I would have ideas fo 10 more Plugins, which are not available, like writing SMS direct in Titanium, looking TV-Panel, Radio-Panel, ... and much more. And I think there are much more people here, who have ideas and could make a new Plugin.
And you could invent for each application with less or more effort a Plugin to control it or to use it - so it's almost unlimited.
Unfortunately some of the first Pioneers seems to have no more time - like Showaco or AppStar. And therefore there was a little stop 3-4month before - but no more now, I think.
But the most of the Plugins must get interactive - that's the new way to develop 'em. The must communicate with each other. The must be skinable and must get new Skins.
With JMLPanex/JMLGoto they have working Buttons and you can jump around in Titanium. You can "interact"
Contables Plugins uses this, Chris makes a great Sense Theme, and with TICS_installer it's now possible to install each Plugin to each Theme - also Bliss,Neo,Win7,SPlugins,...
And only to mention a new version with much more possibilities (Calendar for x days now possible, SMS,...) is the new JMLToday 5.5 from todays release:

Hey - Titanium is only at the Beginning - the official Release of WinMo 6.5 was... ? (Oct'09)
Micha
simply edit the first line of opera9.mscr file to read
Code:
opera = "\windows\Opera9\Profile\opera6.adr"
that is all that is needed to make it work reading bookmarks. may need to edit the path to the opera exe for the launcher if it is not in the default \windows\operal.exe
Hey,
I am creating this post because wherever I go, people have this misconception that the WinMo doesn't have apps, its not user friendly etc etc. From what I have seen in the forums ( hear hear ), I have found out that its one of the most customizable OS's out there. People say that Android has more apps, well you are not going to use all those right ? Blackberry has push blah blah. I will discuss the apps which are cutting all these platforms one by one ! These are the most essential ones, and i believe that these will be more than enough. Please add whatever you feel necessary.
Recently bought an HTC HD Mini phone. ( This is my first Smartphone btw ). After going through a lot of apps, apparently most of them are for VGA/QVGA screens.
Messaging
What Blackberry, Apple and Android promote is the concept of messaging. They have 1000's of apps for chatting etc. Palringo is one of the best messaging clients available there. Instead of downloading separate chat clients for all separate chats (like bb), better to download Palringo. You will say similar apps are there for bb n stuff, but thats the point right ? This post is for all those bb,android snobs u must have met after buying an HD Mini or HD2
Push Email
Oh, aren't those BB people charging that much money just for enterprise push email ?? And haven't you spent a fortune looking for a perfect push email solution ?? And most of winmo phones provide one sync accounts. Is this your problem ?? Well Emoze Pro which btw is free, lets you push-manage n-number of email accounts ( in my case, n=5) and its real time push. You can add n office accounts also, with OWA ( Outlook Web Access ) and Google Apps. Isn't it amazing ? The BB just got a kick in the nuts .
Interface
Well, now that we have beaten the #%$ out of the bb people with those 2 nifty apps , lets take a go at the android people. And this will be useful for those who have used sense ( there are mods for getting sense on your older phones but not sure) or some other awesome interface. Sense in my opinion is byfar the best interface available ( on my HD Mini atleast n same in HD2 with liveweather ), but if you get bored of it then obviously you have got SPB Mobile Shell.. You have to use it to experience it and I am sure you agree And how can you forget the beautiful S2P player and S2U2 utility with their beautiful sync and caller ID !! Must haves !!
Other Useful apps include :
FIM ( Facebook Instant Messenger )
Shazam
IM Plus
Premier League Pocket 10
Coreplayer
Please update more apps for the devices. I know these apps are more than enough for me ! But if you can post more I will add them !
GO WINMO !
Well, here is my list:
-G Quickswitch, it changes automatically your profiles when you need it, very useful for me coz i change between normal and vibration all day
-Memmaid for improove the performance of your phone
-Vito eye photo
-Garmin mobile xt, it saved my life!
-MySquare, which i found in this forum and it's a nice app
-Vito sms chat, i hate WM sms interface and couldn't change it with astronout method so i downloaded this program and it works fine.
and the best games:
-groovy jump
-resco bubbles
It's a troll topic
Is there no must have, only what you think it's usefull for your use
I absolutely need these on my Xperia x1i:
ROM: WM 6.5 826x ROM (http://826x.blogspot.com/2010/02/rom-826x-wm-655-build-23541-w-htc-sense.html)
SPB Mobile shell (not free, but absolutely amazing)
A_C's S2U2 and S2P (http://www.ac-s2.com/)
Resco Explorer 2008(not free either but after using it, normal file explorer seems
TomTom 7 Navigator GPS (Garmin's good too but I prefer TomTom)
SPB Keyboard isn't exactly a must as the Xperia has a full QWERTY keyboard but there's no onscreen keyboard that comes close IMHO
keep this topic up ....
I am Newbie ... just start collecting apps and games ...
SPB Mobile Shell rocks !!!
SPB Weather (pay) - like it very much .... nice graphic
SPB Time (pay) - very good and different kind of alarms and world time
SPB Radio (pay) - a lot of radiostations ...
SPB TV (free) - also a lot of TV Channels accessible over WiFi connection with impressive good quality
SPB Games - all their games have very good graphic
SPB Home Page
Alreader - only ebookreader I need.
-No one mentioned Opera Mobile 10 and mini? Add then.
-Microsoft MyPhone for handy phone backup and anti-theft solution
-ppcpimbackup, good for backing up phone contacts, sms etc.
-msm7kcpuspeed- push CPU over limit
For me, the below are a must after every fresh flash:
ACR 1.2.4 (Automatic Call Recorder).

CleanRAM.
CorePlayer.
FingerKeyboard2.1.
IMDB Mobile.
JWMDIconChanger.

Hey guys and girls,
I am a long term Windows Phone / Windows Mobile user and am thinking about switching to android... The reason is the app gap that is getting bigger every day with more and more companies shutting down their WinMo apps... And at the end of the day apps are the core of smartphones...
Nevertheless, I really love the WinMo experience itself...
- the live tiles,
- the snappy performance,
- the concept of the home screen on the left and all apps in a list on the right...
- the integration of social media in the contacts,
- Cortana,
- Offline navigation with Windows maps,
- the interaction between my phone and my destop PC (synchronization of messages in the message center etc.)
- and much more
Regarding android I am mostly sceptical regarding security issues and stability. On the other hand I heard and read that nowerdays stability is not a big issue anymore with android...
Long story short... Are there some guys here that made the step from WinMo to android and did never regret it?? Maybe you guys can even say sth. to the points I listed above and how these look in android. I think there is even a launcher that "emulates" the WinMo experience on android...
Thanks in advance.

Did you find a sweet phone and how was the transition?
I am wondering about the same - been an Insider since day one, but tired of the app gap

Yes, I bought the Honor 8 about a month ago. So far I am more than happy with that purchase. And so far I dont miss Windows at all.
Maybe the only thing that I miss a bit are the live tiles, but other things on my new phone make up for this.
- Performance and stability are better than on WP
- Google maps offers muc more information and information are easier to find than on MIcrosoft Maps
- I found a launcher that is completely customizable (total launcher) With this launcher I did kinda rebuild the vertical scrolling of the WP home screen (only better)
- I think I dont have to mention the apps...
- Only thing is the Office sync. I had to buy an app (called nine) for a perfect Outlook desktop sync. The Microsoft Outlook app doesnt let you edit contacts / create new contacts....
So for me the decision was the right thing.
