[Q] Can't detect SD Card

I'm having some problem with my sd-card. I use a class 4 16 gb SD card and I can browse it using a file manager and even play songs stored within. But some apps cannot detect it. When using the camera, NavDroyd and some apps, it is asking me to attach a card. I tried remounting the card to no avail.
And another thing - I have a torrent app. I started downloading a 2gb file but decided to cancel it. But the free space of my card was still reduced by 2gb although I removed the torrent and data. Any tips on this? Thanks.
Any ideas?
Try to copy what you have on sd card on your pc, then format it and copy the things back on sd card.Have you tried another card? Maybe is a rom problem. And the utorrent thingy, browse the sd-card and check the folder where it downloads the torrents and see if the file is still there, and manually delete it.
If I format my sd-card. do I have to repeat the convertion of ext2 to ext3,etc.. stuffs?

[Q] Unable to copy files to sd card

Alright, I have a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.7 and a Galaxy S4 with a new microSD card. I was able to initially insert the microSD card into the adapter, slide it into my Macbook Pro and transfer all of my desired music files. Put the card in my phone and it located the files no problem. Well I went today to add new files using both AFT and the SD card adapter but not files are able to be transferred to the card. AFT has no problem storing files on the internal memory so I'm guessing it's a problem with my SD card. Any ideas on what to do?
I've Googled a bit and was told to format my SD card and that should make it recognizable by my Macbook Pro again, but if I were to do this would this problem arise again once I insert the card back into my S4?

Are external SD cards mostly unusable with Android 5.0.2?

Device: Moto E 2015
Android: 5.0.2
Coming from android 4.0 I could manage files on my external SD card using Windows Explorer, AirDroid, or any 3rd party file manager.
Now that I'm using 5.0.2 I cannot manage files on the external SD card using any of those methods. The SD card has over 14 gigs free. The card is formatted and works as Google pushed over my photos and music from the internal SD card fine.
Another problem is I can't move any apps to the SD card. With android 4.0 I could push an app like iBird Pro to the external SD card. Now when I try to push that app to the external SD card it claims there is not enough space. Android storage shows there is over 14 gb free and iBird Pro is under 1 gb.
It would appear that 5.0.2 is a total wreck when trying to make use of the external sd card. *sigh* I hear rumors that M may fix this... if the Moto E 2015 happens to get that update.
You can transfer media to your SD, transfer some apps to SD (if they allow it) But SD write permissions have been a PIA since 4.4.X, so hopefully M does sort it all out.
Sent from my XT1095
So basically useless right now. I manage my own media content in a structure I like. Sad. Hopefully M will fix this mess.
Still trying to write to the external sd card. Latest developments.
Moto E 2015
Android 5.0.2
Windows 8.1
Trying to transfer files or create folders on the external SD card in my Moto E 2nd Gen. causes the following error:
"The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected."
What I can do:
Delete folders
Read
Copy from sd card to Windows
What throws the error:
Creating a folder
Copying files to the sd card
On the device itself I cannot get any file manager to write to the external sd card. Apps that try to setup write permissions to the sd card fail. Android itself was able to move photos and music to the sd card when I inserted it into the phone. If I try to move any app to the SD card it says there is not enough space. It has 14gb free.
I finally tried using another computer. The other system is Windows 7 and I was able to created folders and copy files to the external sd card in the phone.
Back to my main system (Windows 8.1) I used USBDeview and cleared ALL usb drivers. Reconnected keyboard and mouse. Then plugged in the phone... same behavior. I have also tried installing Motorola's driver suite and have the same result. I have tried various USB ports on my motherboard both USB 2 and 3.
I'm at loss of what to try next, besides a blunt object to both devices repeatedly.
And I may have just fixed the problem of moving apps to the external SD card.
I erased the card while it was still in the phone. I did this the first time I put it in. I choose NOT to have Android copy over music and photos. Now I can move apps over to the SD card.
However, when trying to create a folder on the SD card from Windows Explorer it just hangs: SD card (Not Responding). It does show "New Folder" after terminating file explorer and looking at the SD card again. And now.... I can rename the folder, create folders, and copy files to the SD card... wtf.
Perhaps the SD card is bad, it is incredibility inconsistent.

I have a 2nd Gen Moto G with Android 5.0.2 and I'm trying to move apps to the SD card as well. I'm a bit confused as to what steps you followed. Are you saying that BECAUSE you erased the SD card and chose not to have Android copy music and photos that you can now move apps to the card? Or are you saying that since reversing your decision and allowing Android to copy over music and photos (and possibly reformatting your erased card?) that you can now move apps to the card? And can you transfer any apps or only certain apps? Are you doing this on your phone or on your computer?
I can transfer certain apps to my SD card on the phone. And using the computer and Windows Explorer I can create a new folder on the SD card. I'm just not sure what steps to take next to transfer the apps to the card, or what impact there might be on data or functionality.

SD card showing space occupied but data (like my custom folders) is not visible

Hi Friends ,
I have android phone running marshmallow 6.0.1. I am using SD card as an extended internal storage. I have some of the apps installed in SD card and there were also my own folders created on SD card. Suddenly SD card has stopped showing my folders and on exploring the SD card (via file explorer and also after connecting to PC ) I can't see any of my old folders. My phone shows the content of SD card as it is shown for a new SD card. As from the size I understand my old content is still available but I am unable to view. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Friends I extremely need help on this. Plz help me out
