I have ported the Windows version of the Battle.net Authenticator to Windows Mobile 6.5x.
(This is NOT an official Battle.net Authenticator app from Blizzard, nor a hash of the Java emulated version, but an open-source implementation in C#.)
You can use this to create a new authenticator and have it generate codes on your device and then add the serial into your account. It can also import the authenticator key from the Java BMA version if you had that installed.
You can read more about the Windows and Windows Mobile versions, as well as browse the source code, at:
http://code.google.com/p/winauth
Many thanks,
-c.
If you could post your device details if it is not working, or even if it is, that would really help.
Thanks..
-c.
Works fine on a Rhodium At least all the options seem to do what they're supposed to!
Might I suggest adding the ability to import an already installed Java B.net Authenticator? Dunno if it is possible but it will be much easier to test

I'm sure it's possible since the data is available, even though there is no official API. However, I remember they closed down similar iPhone apps that were in competition with their own.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they have one for Windows Mobile 7.
Works great on my Imagio running Energy's ROM. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you very much for this great App.
It's a real shame that Blizzard does not care for Windows Mobile but prefers pushing the f%&$in Apple hype (WoW Armory and Authenticator available)...
At least they invented one for Android (probably most popular besides iOS) too, but too bad they don't give a damn for Windows Mobile
PS: works great on my HTC HD2!

you make a very good job and make this SO better.
Why not ask the company that makes the software? It's not OSS so there's not much the community can do with it.

I don't think that the matlab iphone app was actually a scaled down mobile matlab. I'm pretty sure it just let you remote control matlab on a nearby computer. It would send some of the results back to your phone though. And there is an android app that does exactly that, Matlab Remote for Android.

the matlab version on iphone can do the calulcation base stuff but it won't do any plot and those kind of graphical stuff
least not with the one i played around with a few months ago
Check out the app called Addi
There is a light-weight, java based, open source, matlab / octave clone app for Android called Addi. It is published already. Plotting is in the works, but a lot is already there.
I think there is an octave-like port in the works. (waiting on froyo to clean up a bit, I believe.)
Octave in traditional should give a lot of backend/normal functionality.
Command remotley Matlab with Matlab Commander
Although not a standalone app like Addi, if you are interested in remotely command Matlab on your PC you could try the newly released Matlab Commander.
Look for it in the Android Market.

As I was also searching for Matlab on android...
I found out that it would be possible to run linux on android!!!!
And my university also has the licenses for matlab on linux.
So does anyone this already tried?:
To run matlab in your linux on android?
I did not tried it yet, because your phone need to be rooted to run linux, and I did't do that because I didn't wanted because of warranty reasons. But if someone says that this is possible than I might want to root
grz.
the next problem will be getting the ARM version of the matlab

hey guys. i'm new into android developpment.
i have my senior project in my university (i'm a 5th year telecommuncations engineering student) and its about developping an android app that creates a custom watermark (location +date+ text entered by user) and affects it to an image then uploads it to a server, its supposed to be designed for bloggers and offshore journalists... i cant seem to get a good concept... how am i supposed to use matlab via my android? or i can just find a function that does the water mark and add it to my code?
would any one of you be kind enough to help me create a decent diagram for my app, to make it clearer?
thanks in advance

Actually it can run in background if you are using a linphone.org account. If you use your own sip server, indeed it wont work in background (your server won't send push notifications).

Unfortunately, the app won't receive any calls if running in the background. However, it's still my best option for voip in WP8.
This one works good for making SIP calls. Don't work in the background though but it's better than nothing.

Hi everyone
Just wanted to ask, what are your must have apps?
I need some ideas for new apps. The only apps (except the XKCD viewer) I could think of are listed in the core apps and I don't feel like joining these projects just yet.
So if you have any ideas or if you know some Android or iOS apps which could be ported leave a comment.
1. An IM client like Empathy
2. A Wallbase application/or anything that fetches nice HD wallpapers.
3. An application to watch anime
I had a similar question earlier, you might be able to mine something from those that answered

The main app most people wanted was What's App, but I saw that some one else has been developing a client for it.

It is my firm belief that we should have an APP INSTALL client that seamlessly installs apps FIRST! Then let the DEVS roll out the suggestions. What's the format anyway? not APK I would guess. I think a nice APK converter would work nicely then.

- What the heck is an APK? (That's only for Android and has nothing todo with linux, yes I said it android has nothing todo with linux )
- There are many ways to install an app.
-> you can install a .deb file
-> add a ppa our use the official repos and install via consol
-> build the binarys from source....
Currently someone is working on an "app store" but this is not a priority since ubuntu touch is still in pre alpha.

Some way to access Pandora One. I listen to some 300 hours a month, so it's definitely a requirement, not a 'want'.

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative. ....

Hello!
I am in the R&D Phase of trying to build/port the Native Android SiriusXM App to Windows Phone. At best, I'd like to end up with a fully ported SiriusXM Android App. At worse, I'd like to get the source for an app like SatRadPlayer or SXMBuddy and update it to work with the new server. As a start, I am attaching the fully decompiled Android App.
My biggest challenge is that I haven't really developed a native WP App nor have I ever developed anything for Android...I do have some Java experience, though!
Help/Guidance/Feedback is greatly appreciated!
If anyone else wants to try giving this a shot as well, they are more than welcome to. My only request is that their App be free/donation ware so we can help build the platform.
If the app is originally in Java (not C/C++, and no, I haven't checked yet) you'll probably want to go with C# for your code; it's very similar to Java and the framework is largely self-documenting so it's easy to learn (there's also excellent docs on MSDN, of course). If part of the original app is unmanaged code, it's probably easier to just import that into a Windows Phone Component C++ project in Visual Studio and then patch it up to use Win32/WinRT instead of POSIX/Android.
Good idea. everything was written in Java. sounds like this will be quite a bit of work for one person. The app is developed and maintained by a company called QuickPlay in Canada. The audio streams are transferred over in DRMed "Chunks" that the app decodes. I don't even know if it is possible to decode them (I hope so).
At this point I am thinking it will be easier to manipulate the streams from the desktop app as the call generate xml and the audio is streamed in AAC. I guess the next question is can Windows Phone 8 handle AAC streams?
It supports AAC in general, so yes, I imagine so.
If the source code to the DRM decoder is available or easily decompiled, breaking/re-implementing it should be easy.

I took a different approach, and now have a working proof-of-concept using the legacy WMA streams. One of the things I am struggling with is how to set up a timer to periodically send a response packet back to the server. the standard "background thread" won't cut it because it has to be more than around 30 mins. I tried to use a timer in the backgroundaudio agent, but that was throwing a whole bunch of "illegal cross-thread" calls on instantiation. I can use the timer successfully in the main app though. This only works if the app is active and the screen isn't locked.
Hi, did you manage to decode the chk streams? I would be interested in knowing how you did it.
I never did. I ended up creating a mysqueezebox.com account, installing the "Siriusxm" app there and used that to gain access to the legacy streams. It would be really nice if someone could write a nice squeezebox client for Windows phone as everything is open-source and written in LUA.

Hey!
We know, that we can't run Android apps on Ubuntu Touch. The UT is a great operating system, but it has a big problem. It doesn't have any "neccessary" or "must have" applications NOW. These apps are the following by the community's opinion: FacebookMessenger, WhatsApp, Google Maps, a browser (like Chrome, Opera mini or Firefox), instagram, etc.
So, I want to know, that we are possible to port these (or any other) Android apps to UT, or not? If the answer is yes, i want to create a team. In this team i want to port Android apps, or create this apps alternatives.

Request: Simyo Call Status App [Netherlands]
Hi there,
I haven't been on the xda forums a lot since the end of 2009 I believe but, since Canonical announced Ubuntu Touch this year, I have my reasons to pick up browsing the forums again. The Ubuntu Touch region, specifically.
Now, you were asking if there's any Android Apps to port to Ubuntu Touch.
I have a request that might not be of interest to a lot of people but will get pretty important to me once a 'user version' of Ubuntu Touch is released:
Simyo Netherlands provides an App to check your current "Belstatus" or call status.
This app provides me (on my iPhone) with the current remaining minutes/sms messages and remaining data (megabyte) for the current month within the contract.
Below the link to the Android equivalent in the Play Store, which might be portable to an Ubuntu Touch app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.simyo.mijnsimyo
Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in doing.

No, there's no tool like that for Ubuntu Touch (yet?).
I'd be willing to port my Android apps to Ubuntu touch. Does the work need to be done from scratch? Is there a simpler way to port a java, native, android app to Ubuntu?
I can't contribute anything app-wise, but this sounds like a really good idea; best of luck!
Ubuntu-Touch must LIVE! I have use it and it is cool system. Some problems with applications time to time appeares. And it is very hard find developers for apps. But I think if required apps appeares -- more people move to UT. And first of all that system must use NOT for games.

Till last some years UT has some changes. For example appears OpenVPN network manager in a base apps. But unfortunately that feature with unresolved bugs. Also I didn't find any browsers like QupZilla/Mozilla FireFox or Lynx. So As for me we required updated OS for first. And normal browser. Current versions of browsers are unusable. That i big part of work. For that required powerful developers group. I try to compile and run some examples to UT but unfortunately unsuccessful. But I try. Who also try do something but with successful result?
