Hi all
I have a T-Mobile HD2 which I managed to unlock to my O2 SIM thanks to the help available here, for which many many thanks.
I recently attempted to upgrade the ROM as I was having various issues with texts being transmitted and not being received and a couple of other annoying traits which I can't recall but contributed to my general misery. I installed the 1.72.110.4 upgrade from HTC's website but then realised that this was T-Mobiles
and that no I could no longer set up the phone for internet access using my O2 roaming bolt on. When I tried to install the latest ROM upgrade for O2 - 1.72.206.3 - I got an error message telling me it wasn't a valid file.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can restore my O2 settings or bully the 206.3 ROM to take on my phone?
Very many thanks.

You can use HSPL which will allow you to install any rom on your phone.

Hi
I have an Orange (UK) HTC Hero. Works fine actually. However, i spotted a ROm upgrade dated 2010-02-04 on the HTC website (ROM Version:2.73.61.66 for Orange). Currently I am running version 2.73.61.5.
Do I get any benefit from upgrading to the new ROM version, and if yes, what would the benefit be?
Also, I understood from HTCs website that an upgrade wipes out everything on my phone, including Orange's setup. Does this mean that the phone also becomes sim free?
If I do perform the upgrade, how can I restore Orange's settings? SHould I write them down before I perform the upgrade, or could I go to the Orange shop and ask them to set it up for me?
Any advice would be appreciated
Anyone ???
Bro I M Also facing the same situation .. I Also want to know the Ans. can anyone Helps me ? Should I install New RUU ? Or not ?
I wouldnt update, as this is still Android 1.5. Don't forget, that the offical 2.1 update will be released in june.
Actually, by now Orange UK is the only provioder worldwide that has not rolled out 2.1 for the Hero. So I say screw them, and I went for villainROM 12. Best thing I ever did, except I probably need to update the radio firmware, as now it seems to have degraded reception.
I now got all the goodies one would want on my hero. Now to unlock it! (but I know where to get a code for that, so no worries).
Remain in that version 2.73.61.5. it's very easy to root from there. the latest one .61.66 won't allow you to root.
I am having issues with my Telstra HD2 and connecting to my exchange server via 3G. Connections are fine via USB and Wi-Fi but as soon as I try and connect while roaming I get an 0x80073EE2 error. The error seems to have been caused when I upgraded my ROM to version 1.72.841.0 (82124) WWE.
I am new to playing with the ROM's on smart phones and I don't want to ruin my phone by installing a ROM that will not work.
I have two questions:
1. Has anyone experienced a similar issue using Telstra and if so what did they do to resolve it?
2. If I flash the ROM to one listed on this forum and it all goes pear shaped, is it possible to flash back to the official ROM I downloaded from the HTC website? I was told by a HTC technician that once I upgraded my ROM I could not go back to the original version that shipped with the phone.
I really like the HD2 but I am so frustrated with this issue that I don't know where to turn. Both Telstra & HTC have been unable to resolve the issue.
If there is anyone out there using Telstra Australia who has flashed a newer ROM that works I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Hey guys,
I just got a HTC HD2 yesterday and while plaing around I accidentally installed value added installer and that program installed arabic language to my phone. So everything is in arabic. How do I go about fixing this, I did a soft and hard reset plus I did a factory reset, nothing seemsto be working. Is there any solution to this issue? Please advise me on how to fix this problem. Im also a new to smartphones so my knowledge is limited.
regards,
Buppy
The official way:
Go to HTC website & download the ROM aplicable to your device & flash it.
Non official:
Flash HSPL & then flash the ROM you like.
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
I got my phone from a friend who got it from UAE. I was wondering will I have to download for UAE or can I download a UK ROM? Will this affect my phone negatively?
Please let me know.
Thank you for your help.

If you do not install HSPL, you have to download the ROM from HTC middle east website.
If you want any other ROM, (HTC -UK or custom), then you have to install HSPL. There is no negative effect on the phone's function.
Thank you for your help Omar. I really appreciate you helping me out.
I will download the ROM from HTC for now. I just got the phone few days ago so I want to get familiar with it before trying another ROM. I'm really not good at these kinds of things so I'm hoping I can learn it soon enough.
Anyways I really appreciate the help.. Thank you.

Quick question..
If I were to add Android to my phone would I still be able to create and edit Microsoft Office documents?
you can disable arabic support by going to the settings tab>other>multilingual support and then check "disable multilingual support"
this will save you flashing another rom, however, if you do a hard reset, the phone will change to arabic after the process is complete.
regarding your android question:
there are a few apps on android that support creating/editing office documents such as quick office, some are paid and offer more functions (sometimes even more than office on wm 6.5) but none is like the desktop version of course.
you can try an SD or Ram android build and see if it fits your needs before flashing NAND android

No. The phone will not get locked. Middle East phones are 99.99% not locked ini the 1st place.
Hello,
New to the forum, and this is probably a noob question, but after trawling through loads of threads on here my head is spinning and i need some advice!
I decided to upgrade the ROM of my hd2 today as i am having problems with sending sms. i bought the phone second hand recently. It is sim unlocked and there is no carrier branding on the phone that i have noticed.
I tried to get a ROM from the htc site and got the not suitable message, long story short after speaking to htc i found my phone is from the Czech republic.
Now i have had a look at the ROM flashing tutorial and i am confident with doing it, however i am unsure about whether or not i need to use the Goldcard method?
Can i download the latest ROM from the UK HTC site and put it on my phone just using the Hardspl method here?
Thanks for any help offered, and sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldnt find an answer to my question.

Hi Everyone,
I’m new to this forum.
I finally figured out how to unbranded my HTC Mozart (TMO-DE), after reading several posts from very helpful people like Ansar. The procedure I used was:
Flash TMO-DE 1.09
After the Flashing has failed and phone reboots
Flash another ROM (HTC-EU 1.30 or HTC-EU Mango)
And it worked...
Anyway after doing this, I noticed very little difference and so I would like to return to my original branded software.
So I flashed back one of the TMO-DE roms, (1.20, 1.25, 1.28). And it was back to what looked like the original software.
However when I connect my phone to Zune, I can’t get any updates.
I assume its because something has changed on my since I used TMO-DO 1.09.
Does anyone know how to return my phone back to its original condition?
Can anyone help me?
Many Thanks,
Daniel
More problems - Please Help!!
Now i have another problem, apart from not being able to get any updates.
Also it seems there is a problem with my bootloader.
I've lost the PD6700 and its been replaced by some strange unreadable characters. And now I cant change the ROM anymore.
Any ideas? Is there anyway to re-load the boot loader?
Thanks

Hi i have the same problem. What can i do??
Same problem
I'm stuck with DFT 7713 ROM. I tried to go back to NoDo. I used the following NoDo version software "RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE" on my HTC Mozart. But it did not happen. Mine is an unlocked phone. Can someone please help me with the following questions?
1. If and when the official mango hits my region (India), would it automatically upgrade to the 7720? If so, I shall sit quiet.
2. If the answer for the first one is no, then how do I downgrade? Or is there a way to get rid of this DFT thing?
Thanks a lot. I'm kind of frustrated with this problem . Please help.
Greetings!
hi neusun,
AFAIK zune will not update custom ROMs. you will have to manually update. keep looking into the forums and you will find something. tons of ROMs and many, many talented guys are here. try ansar's ROMs.
yes its a pain in the ass but hey we chose command over convenience, right ?
