[Q] Telatra Australia blocking Exchange connection - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having issues with my Telstra HD2 and connecting to my exchange server via 3G. Connections are fine via USB and Wi-Fi but as soon as I try and connect while roaming I get an 0x80073EE2 error. The error seems to have been caused when I upgraded my ROM to version 1.72.841.0 (82124) WWE.
I am new to playing with the ROM's on smart phones and I don't want to ruin my phone by installing a ROM that will not work.
I have two questions:
1. Has anyone experienced a similar issue using Telstra and if so what did they do to resolve it?
2. If I flash the ROM to one listed on this forum and it all goes pear shaped, is it possible to flash back to the official ROM I downloaded from the HTC website? I was told by a HTC technician that once I upgraded my ROM I could not go back to the original version that shipped with the phone.
I really like the HD2 but I am so frustrated with this issue that I don't know where to turn. Both Telstra & HTC have been unable to resolve the issue.
If there is anyone out there using Telstra Australia who has flashed a newer ROM that works I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Warren

Can I flash the Latest HTC ROM on T mobile G2

I am bit intimidated here. Only started using Hero for a week. Used to serial flasher of Windows mobile. Anyway,
I have a G2 with ROM version 1.76; I just wondered if I would be able to flash the new 2.73 ROM (official) on G2. When I insert the my serial number on the HTC website, it says the this ROM is not suitable for my device. I guess it is because it was intended for unbranded Hero. I have downloaded the ROM from XDA. Can I just run it flash it on G2..? Is there any precautions I need to take. HTC may release a new ROM for Tmobile G2. Bur I dont have the patience to wait. Any info will be highly appreciated.
Regards
Anyone tried this..? Or will I brick my phone..?
To be honest, if you're not going to install a custom ROM, you probably might as well wait until the T-Mobile release of the ROM. I doubt it will be long now, and it will just make the process a "little" easier and you'll have less issues if you end up having to send the phone back under warranty.
For what it's worth, I flashed my G2 with Modacos ROM without issue (currently at 2.2 as it seems 2.3 has more issues).
Regards,
Dave
Thanks for your reply. I am not planning to install any custom ROMs yet. But I would like to try the official ROM. Do u think it would be problem if I upgrade with generic 2.73 ROM..?
Another issue is, I cannot sync with HTC sync. I am using vista Home premium. Phone says it cannot detect HTC sync on computer. I tried turning off the Frewall and antivirus. Any ideas..?
You won't break anything. I downloaded the "official" 2.73 ROM from Modaco and it's running fine on my T-Mobile G2.
I phoned tech support about this in the UK and after a long and heated argument got the guy to actually give me the information. He said that the Update for the T-mobile version of the Hero would be released on the 1st November. This is really poor work, especially as Orange have managed it in about a week.
According to the Official T-Mobile UK forum they are 'hoping' to get it released this week.
Also try updating HTC Sync. The version on the HTC support site is a later version than the one on the memory card. You might find it works better.

Can I put Vodafone firmware back on my Touch Pro?

I have a HTC touch pro diamond (vodafone branded) with Raphael rom. My phone seems to have a hardware problem, it crashes when a call connects. I have tried a hard reset which seemed to fix the problem, but it's now back again. So looks like I need to return it under guarantee, so need to put back the Vodafone software, or has anyone had this issue and resolved?
Is the Vodafone software available and can it be burnt back?
Any help would be appresiated.
UPDATE
I have found a new vodafone firmware, which appears to be Raphael's work ( ruu_raphael_vodafone_uk_5.10.161.1) it is an application so has anyone used this over an exsiting Raphael rom?
Try searching the forum...

Don't forget to change the SPL back to stock once you're done flashing...

Thanks, have already seen the link. I need to find out if I can run vodafone application (ruu_raphael_vodafone_uk_5.10.161.1) directy over current raphael rom, or is there another procedure I have to do first?
I had it running on my Touch Pro before trying some of the fantastic roms on this forum. Ended up removing it because I didn't care much for the internet tab

Err Raphael is the name of the Touch Pro aka Fuze aka....
Go to vodafone UK webpage , support or help page, and browse to the HTC phone downloads. There you will see the official latest Uk Voda ROm to install.

Thanks for the reply, I already had the new firmware but was not sure if I could just burn over my unofficial software. Could not find out on the forum so in the end I just took a chance. Had no problems, and now back with the new Vodafone firmware and all working OK.
I did not know this phone was called Raphael, I only know it as a HTC Touch Diamond Pro.
Anyhow thanks for taking the time to reply, much appresiated.
For me the subject is now closed.
Thanks all.

[Q] HD2 ROM upgrade problem

Hi all
I have a T-Mobile HD2 which I managed to unlock to my O2 SIM thanks to the help available here, for which many many thanks.
I recently attempted to upgrade the ROM as I was having various issues with texts being transmitted and not being received and a couple of other annoying traits which I can't recall but contributed to my general misery. I installed the 1.72.110.4 upgrade from HTC's website but then realised that this was T-Mobiles
and that no I could no longer set up the phone for internet access using my O2 roaming bolt on. When I tried to install the latest ROM upgrade for O2 - 1.72.206.3 - I got an error message telling me it wasn't a valid file.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can restore my O2 settings or bully the 206.3 ROM to take on my phone?
Very many thanks.
Patrick

You can use HSPL which will allow you to install any rom on your phone.

[Q] Debrand Telstra Mozart?

Hello! I've checked all over the internet and can't seem to find anywhere how to debrand my Telstra branded Mozart. I've followed the steps laid out by Casey_boy in his guide multiple times and ended up with a vender id error each time. Trust me when I say that I have searched everywhere for a solution. These searches have led to various threads in which my question, specifically regarding Telstra, is asked but receives no response. This is my last resort.
I'm running this phone on the AT&T network in the United States since Telstra and AT&T both share one of the same 3G frequencies (850 mhz). I've heard awful things about how Telstra handles updates and would love to be prepared to update my phone to Mango as soon as it comes out. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Try doing this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11921673&postcount=9
Done 9 steps. Copy ModelID.fig to folder(extract EXE with WinRar or 7z) with ROM you want to flash and run updaterom.
Hope this can help.
Feel free to PM me.
thanks for the response. ill try it as soon as i get out of class. i knew i should have brought my usb cable.
It didn't work.

AT&T HTC Titan-----Canada

I know this question has been posted but I can't find the answer.
I live in Canada and am on the Bell network.
My phone died a horrible death, and I want to buy a HTC Titan on eBay.
All I can find that are unlocked are AT&T X310a. What I want to know is will they work for me on the Bell network
If not what should I be looking for.
Thanks MrRusty

Will it work? Yes
Will you get 3G (HSPA+)? Depends is Bell 3G on the same frequency (850 & 1900)?
I purchased an unlocked AT&T Titan and put it on the Telus network and it works great. Telus and Bell are 3G HSPA+ 850 1900.
Thanks very much for the responses!
The AT&T you bought was the model number X310a or X310e and does it have a AT&T stamped on it.
And did you just stick your sim card in it and away you went.
And thanks ahead of time for any help.
You may not be able to use MMS though as it will probably only have settings for at&t in the database, Even connection set-up may not work properly, I could not use an at&t branded Titan 2 for MMS in the UK, Everything else worked fine, The best option is to get an EU Titan X310e which wont have any branding etc.
I have at&t x310a.
It works on Bell network just fine.
Has anyone used x310e from Europe?
Will it work the same?

Off-topic:
MMS won't work even with the EU Titan on many networks.
In UK O2, Giffgaff and T-mob have frequent issues.
Three, Vodafone, Orange seems to be ok with MMS.
Probably same with US networks? Some will work and some wont.

Thanks for the great posts, really helps and good to know as mine is on it's way
Did you install a custom rom on yours, or running the AT&T stock.
Were you able to uninstall the AT&T apps?
I know this sounds stupid ... can you remove the AT&T logo on the front top of the screen.
Just asking
AT&T Logo is beneath the glass- so unless you replace the lcd itself it won't be possible to remove the logo.
As for custom roms, I haven't unlocked the phone. I've ordered the Y-cable and patiently waiting for it to arrive...
I've read on xda that all you need to do to unlock and install a custom rom on the AT&T x310e or x310a is to install HSPL then you can just install the custom rom.
Have anybody done on and the steps involved.
AT&T Custom Rom Install
let me try and get this straight in my mind
I just picked up a new AT&T Titan (P139100) and I live in Canada and on the Bell network.
The phone is unlocked x310a or x310e
Can I just hold down the volume + and power button to start boot mode plug into my laptop and then just install Dynamics 7 v1.21 or can I just get away with installing HSPL then rom

And one other thing I have a unlock code to unlock the phone so it will work on the Bell network, but each time I shut the phone off I haveto enter the unlock again to use it. Anybody have a fix or work around for this:crying:

Not quite. Before embarking with installation of custom rom it pays for you to have good read on the titan development section and understand how this work or not work especially with ATT branded titan. Basically you will need to use a gold card method to flash dft spl 2.5 before you can install dft hspl both are pre requisite so you can install custom rom.
Goodluck.

To get rid of this annoying unlocked code business, you need to flash a stock Cingular rom 1.10, then force update to 8107 or Tango using cab sender, and problem solved

Hu!
Ok then... it's a AT&T phone but I use a Cingular rom. Do I have to flash using a Gold card and y cable and with SPL then HSPL then update with the rom or can I just Flash it with the Cingular Rom. And if it's that easy is there a link to the Cingular Rom 1.10
And better still is there a wiki on how to do it with software links.
Thanks
Cingular rom is the stock rom for ATT branded phone and you only need to use RUU to flash this rom. Downloand ROM and RUU from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334468

Thanks for the Idea and link but the link doesn't work for the Cingular rom and I can't find another file hosting page to d/l from.
And another question (soooo many questions! ) any one know how to view your cell phone files in windows explorer on your pc
I tried the registry edit thing but that didn't work.
OK I have finally found the Cingular Eternity rom and ruu.
Can you point me towards a link to the cab sender or the instructions on how to do it.

OK so I found the Cingular ROM and install it, the re-locking problem has gone away.
I updated to Tango (8773) and all runs great!... but
After I installed 7720, HTC Connection Setup app wasn't there and after upgrading to 8773 it still isn't there.
The problem I have is I can't send a picture with a text message. I can send a text message fine, surf the internet with WiFi on and off.
I have 4G everything works great, I just can't send a pic attached to my text message and I can't receive a picture either if some one sends a text with a pic attached. I have gone into the APN settings and entered all there is to enter from the Bell site but still nothing.
When I got the phone it came loaded with AT&T 7720 and had the connection setup app installed and it entered the info fine and I had text and picture attached and it worked great. I could send text messages with pics attached all day long and it worked fine.
What I want to know is is there a way to get into the MMSC or what ever they call it to tell the phone it can use this feature. As I said before it worked fine when the connection setup app was there. But it's unavailable now from the HTC market site
