Can anyone tell me if there a way to get the stock android keyboard on the dell streak. I love the stock android keyboard and think it would be great on the streak.

Hello!
I just bought a Dell streak and wondering if it is possible to make jonasl keyboard on the phone? I tested one version but it did not work. Does anyone know if it works with any version?
Thanks in advance!
Why don't you make a couple of versions for yourself and report back with what you find. Here is the link to the site to make custom keyboards if you don't already have it.

Try the high res V27 first. I don't know why it wouldn't work.
Hello. I have an app in the Android Market called Keep Me Alert which is built against android 2.2. I have a customer who is using Samsung Vibrant and MIUI with android 2.3.5 but they are geting an error that says, My device is not compatible. I'm not familiar with MIUI so I'm intersted in any ideas of why it wouldn't be working? The app is working fine on android 2.2 emulator and on my Android 2.3 HTC Flyer. Any ideas on why Android Market is telling users with MIUI that my app is not compatible? Thanks
do you have any maxSdk version set?
Do you mean in the manifest file? I don't think so. Should I be specifically setting this?

Could be due to the iffy practices of the MIUI developers and not releasing the source code for their kernels which is against the law. Now I am not saying this is the case but with it only effecting MIUI it may not be far off.
It can't be MIUI specifically, I'm running MIUI on a nexus s (2.3.7) and just gave it a try for you, it downloads and runs just fine
I am having the same problem. I have previously purchased and used a program on my Desire but after changing to an MIUI.us rom i cannot re download the app.
Perhaps you have your resolution changed. Look for some LCD res changer and look it up. I'm on cm7 DHD and changed my res to 200 instead of stock 240. E'thing looks much better but sometimes I get the same issue with market saying app is nkt compatible. Then I have to change back to stock just to install an app and then back to my 200.

Hello there, im new arround here
I hope you can answer my question:
I am going to initiate a project with android 2.1 (there is still a 9% of dispositives using 2.1, and as i dont know if 2.2 worths it, i will just use 2.1 for compatibility issues). My project will be using in-app purchases, the other stuff is basic but maybe i will add notifications and data downloads in the future. Is it a good idea to use 2.1?
Is there anything nice in 2.2 or 2.3 you can not do with 2.1?
In what version is "in-app purchases" supported?
In what version is "notifications" supported?
In what version is "online file downloads to the dispositive silently" supported? (for when you purchase something)
Thanks
I think there is not much different between 2.1, 2.2, 2.3. Those os are almost the same. I think you can try 2.3 ..

Hi
I'm currently using stock rom 4.1.B.0.587 (BL unlocked, rooted). I've tried a few custom roms in the past but never found one in which the hardware keyboard worked flawlessly (i.e. numeric, symbol and language select keys working). I'm finding there's some lag in the stock rom and would like to try new ones.
I've been to the developer forums looking at some of the more popular roms but it seemed to me all have problems dealing with XMP's hardware keyboard.
Is the only way to keep the hardware keyboard's complete functionalities to stick to stock rom?
Thanks
maybe you should try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38278250&postcount=65
Thanks for this. Would this work in JB based roms as well or just ICS?
You can try Cyanogen Mod 9, 10, or 10.1. I was try it and hardware keyboard work normally for me.

Hi,
im afraid it mostly is. You will currently not get a stock like keyboard experience on custom roms. If you are like me, you are missing stuff like autocompletion and spell check. Sony uses a custom keyboard for that - altought some people managed to the xperia S keyboard working on the Mini Pro, these features only work when you used the soft-keyboard.
I tried SwiftKey some time ago, if i remember correct, that gave me word suggestions as well in hardware keyboad. May you should try the free trial.
