Excellent! For such a reasonable price, I just had to buy me this. For the simplicity of a remote search and play interface for music over my HTPC to my home's speakers this is certainly proving to be perfect.

In the moment there is no demo version available. Maybe there is one in the future. But I will create a youtube video to show it's features.

Visit the website and it does what it says it does; and for only £1.27 this is a superb piece of software. It is a remote control, but not in the usual sense.
It displays all the options on your phone, the TV guide, recorded programs etc... when you make a selection the channel changes or a program starts; it doesn't bring the guide up on the TV though.
If possible this controller could be improved by adding a tab that acts as a standard remote control too. i.e. a tab/page with chapter reverse / multispeed reverse / stop / play-pause / multispeed forward / chapter forward. Also include a back button and up-down-left-right navigation buttons so we can use our WM to do on screen navigations.
I only bought this lastnite but it's the best £1.27 I've ever spent on software!

Btw. There is a "virtual remote". Just long press the "i" button and it opens. You can set the behaviour from "buttons" to "gesture" in the mcc settings. But it's supporting only the standard buttons (left,right,up,down,ok,back). In my opinion you don't need any rewind forward buttons, you can use the quicksearch bar for this. But I will add some buttons in the future like "rewind 20secs" or "forward 5minutes" to skip ads or see the missed scene again.

Issues with music playlists
This is a great software and works well, with a very nice interface, however i am having issues with music paylists using media player in windows 7. I created some playlists and they work fine, but when i create any new ones from now on it does not read them and load them on the device. I can control next, but the playlists do not load. It is very strange behaviour. The playlists that work correctly have added this at the end of each song cid="{11FD28ED-8C46-4C21-B74C-74255D0B18C1}" tid="{221EAF35-7916-468E-9036-2CBBFF83AB38}" the others do not have this added, it seems that MCC media adds this.
Anyway i am not sure if is it my computer or a bug in the software. I wish i could sort it out, but no luck so far.

EDIT: I read your post again carefully und noticed that you are using WMP. I'm assuming that the playlist are created within WMP also.
Yes created using media player 12, also tried other programs as well, but same results. It is very strange as Singal and other software similar to yours has no issues with these playlists.

Ok so most people that have Comcast know about this app. I have seen the ipad commercial were the guy can basically use his ipad to change the dvr channels and record shows.
Does anyone know if they will be releasing the remote on the next update cause that would be another good reason not to get off the couch or go looking for your remote that your son threw 15 feet across the room.
Anybody else like the idea of using your vibrant as a remote for your tv?
I think overall its a good idea. I know the iPhone can be used with apple tv. For me, I'd rather stick with my harmony. I think eventually it will happen anyway, but for now I'm happy just to be able set a recording on my phone.
I do have a nice logitech eharmony remote I use, but I always have my phone next to me. If it could change channels with my phone, I'd definitely use the hell out of it.
Anything that you do must be through wifi/network connection. No infared which sucks, theres a whole lot you can do with that my ancient pocket pc's all had it not sure why theyve done away with it. although it might have been a contributing factor to why they were so brick like lol.

Harmony is def the best way to go. Comcast can be configured on web too right?.. like cablevision time warner and fios. You should try it that way.. or buy a harmony off of ebay.. even controls the xbox 360.

Well ill look into the harmony. But ive heard alot of rumors that the next update for xfinity app should give us access to the dvr part. Because if u load the app the dvr section or button is blanked out.. Can anyone confirm this might be useable with the next update? Cause thay would be awesome!
The dvr function is being rolled out to different areas at different times and you have to ask for a new dvr box. I asked at my local office (s. fla) they told me it wasn't available in my area yet. I too want the dvr function but it also brings caller ID to your tv screen.

Xfinity apps, the truth
Actually there are 2 apps. 1 is xfinity mobile (email, tv listings, on demand clips, dvr programming, the other is the xfinity tv app. It is the one that controls your cable boxes. It does not need wifi (exept on "pads") or infared, it needs merely an active mobile internet connection. Currently the xfinity mobile app is available on the android market and xfinity tv app is available only for for i-devices (yuck!), but will be released soon for android as well. Also in the future on demand video streaming will be available through the app.
I didn't know about the second one. So, would I be able to screw with my wife and randomly change the channel while im somewhere else

Absolutely you would. I've done it with my ipod (using the wifi at another location) and my coworker with an iphone screwed around with his parents just for fun and it was hilarious. Lol! By the way, the my DVR option is active on my Xfinity Mobile app (Android app that will not control cable boxes). It shows my scheduled recordings and allows me to set new recordings from the tv listings. I have 2 dvr's and it lists each one seperately. I have named 1 living room and the other bedroom. It's a very nice feature and works very well. The other thing that the xfinity mobile app does that I don't see mentioned. If you have Comcast phone service, it brings callerid from your home phone over to your cell. If someone calls your home phone, you will receive a callerid notification on your android phone, and you can access a call log of your home phone calls as well as listen to your home voicemail. Great technology is a *****!
Yeah, I was gonna say, I have the app and I can set shows to record without a problem. I can do it online too, but obviously this is convenient as well.

I've been tasked to produce an Android app as part of my Final Year Project.
The Project requires the app to be able to playback video from a streamer on a Windows PC equipped with one of the following streaming programs:
a) XSplit Broadcaster
b) Livestream Procaster
In addition, it should have a chat function in the form of a drag down menu such that one can interact with the streamer. It does not have to be a two-way interaction - ideally the user of the mobile device will ask a question/post a shoutout via the chatbox and the streamer will answer from his computer in some way or form.
I have tried reverse-engineering an app which you can find on the market (it's called GGWORLD) and it's quite similar to what we're doing, except it's aimed at gamers and pulls streams from twitchTV and whatnot.
My app on the other hand, has to pull footage from the user's Livestream account page, should the user choose to use Livestream Procaster.
I have managed to make some sort of a UI using Eclipse. I've also found out that we need this thing called 'webview'.
Now, as I'm extremely poor at programming, one humbly asks what this webview is about, and is there any need to manually code in Java or HTML5 or XML to pull videos, as from my understanding most videos streamed on the web are in the form of a flash app.

I've been trying to do that for a while, but i just can't get the codec to work properly
I have discovered that the playlist engine is not working properly. This will be fixed in the net update.
The next update will also give you some degree of costumization over the interface.
EDIT: While i was in the shower i figured a news feed would be useful.

Several bugs fixed. Should be available within 5 working days.
Sadly, i have a lot of projects to work on at the moment, development might be slowed down a bit, but the next major update will bring users the ability to do the following appearance customizations. You will notice the help+settings pivot has a new, empty tab in the next update.
1) change backgrounds (solid color, picture from picture library, slide shows)
2) change all title and text color in the application.
3) change the color of the app bar.
And that would be the first wave of customization.
After that, if i have time, add a theme engine and be able to customize themes from the desktop client and also replace visual assets (like images) with custom made ones.

I only have a question, how do you manage to integrate some new codecs to play flac? I am amazed. I was trying hard to integrate some new video codecs but I never get it :S

You need a media stream source.

You need to switch modes from help+settings, behavior tab.
In the next update, I will make these sensitive settings easier to find and set.

I had an attempt at an equalizer, but it didn't go according to my plans.
Besides, most WP8 phones (aside from samsung ones) already have an equalizer and their equalizer is system wide, whereas mine would only be used in my application.
It doesn't mean i gave up on the equalizer, however, this would be very confusing with users, and some of them are apparently incapable of reading all the guides and help i placed in the app...
I also have plans for true gapless playback (the player does have a pseudo gapless playback), but at this moment in time, I have a lot of things to do at collage. Maybe next week.
All of these features will, of course, only work with the local storage mode. You would have to replace the built-in player with this one completely.
Yes, but there is a Nokia Lumia 520 - cheap yet powerful and popular model. Also, it's mine. I'm so upset Nokia decided not to implement this feature in 520's software. I love listening to music, but it doesn't sound well without an EQ...

Snap I tried a 5 band equalizer and the sound going out was pure noise, nothing was left from the original song.
I will try to get thing going, but as i said, next week.
I have all the infrastructure in place for an equalizer, but i just can't get it to work properly. Maybe i set the frequency levels wrong...didn't have much time to fool around with it.
I can help you if you want. I can be a beta tester or something, but it's the same here for me, next week PM me if you need help

What will come first the app for flash player on WP8 or a new OS. I think this is biggest lack of app now. It seems there is no end in site for flash, its time MS paid for developing it. Anyone have any insight on this WP8 missing piece.

Meh,
The only page I've come across that needed flash was the one for a local restaurant. The majority of the sites have minimized or move from flash, or aren't intended for mobile devices.
That said, I'm sorry you can't create your new candy concoctions or tend your farms from your phone, thought there are plenty of other games that you can play that run natively on the phone.

perhaps you don't read BBC or stream video from tv sites. Thanks for cotton candy speech.
Adobe as of the year before last pulled out of the mobile market. That means flash is not even available on Android devices now unless you get a third party app that may still be floating around. All websites are supposed to be converting to HTML5 if they want mobile viewer traffic. If they have not converted then they are only interested in PC traffic and you should boycott the site to show them the traffic they are missing. Rather than make your work, you should make the sites do what they are supposed to do.
My android phone (Asus PadFone 2) is capable of showing live streams on Twitch.tv with the default browser, but I have no idea how. If I try to play a video from the day before on the website, it says I need flash player, so it only works if the channel is live. On my Lumia 920 however if I go to Twitch.tv, it says I need flash player, even if the channel is live... So how is it my PadFone can show live streams if its still flash-based, yet I get an error saying I need flash if I try to play videos from the day before?
I tried an unofficial Twitch TV app. on WP. It works well, but you have to pay to not get cut off every 5mins or so. I wish WP would also be able to show live streams on the actual Twitch TV website.

BBC has alot of apps for reading it ... an the official player in the store
