Hi,
I have a problem wtih my HPC and would like to c if anyone can help.
Problem description:
After Upgrading the Rom from I-Mate's webpage to 1.66WWE the GSM phone has serious problems (seems very week).
I purchased my phone in the middle east and it had an older ROM version (Am not sure but it probably was 1.52 I am sure the radio was older than 1.10 but not sure which version I suspect it was 1.03.
When I first arrived here in the US it was working fine with AT&T cingular and T-mobile. Reasonable reception and stability.
Then I stupidly decided to upgrade the roms from i-mate's webpage and I started facing problems. Now the phone either can't find the network or sees a very very week signal.
More annoyingly when It tried to downgrade it to the older version on imate's webpage it refused to downgrade the radio version and kept it at 1.10.00.
My questions:
1. Any idea where I can find an older version of the radio rom s/w so I can get my GSM phone working?
2. Any ideas what I can do to upgrade to the 1.66WWE and the 1.10 radio and still have them work here in the US?
as it is now my settings are:
ROM version 1.52.00WWE (was 1.66 for while)
ROM date 10/29/03
Radio version 1.10.00
protocol version 1.337.18
ExtROM: 1.52.114
HELP!

Hi,
I have a T-Mobile Hermes 300
It has Telstra's software on it for Australia (from the previous owner)
It has the following installed:
IPL of 1.01
SPL of 1.06
Rom Version: 1.31.305.2
Radio Version: 1.20.31.10
Protocol Version: 32.52.7020.00H
ExtROM Version: 1.31.305.103
I am interested in upgrading just the Radio firmware to the latest revision available on here, is this possible without installing other firmware such as the OS?
I was planning on installing that Anti Brick SPL software before considering to upgrade it, is this the correct course of action? then just install the Radio firmware?
Will I loose the Telstra software? or can I use 3G even without it?
If I could continue to use 3G with Telstra in Australia and worldwide I'd be even happier!
Thanks!
Alex
You don't need the cusomtized Telstra software to use their 3G network. All you need is your device (assuming it is unlocked from TMobile) and your SIM card for Telstra.
I read some post around here specifically about Telstra. May want to search before you do anything - try to google forum search for Telstra 3G upgrade or something like that.
Thanks for that, I had a check and nothing really specific came up with google.
So all seems good on that frontier.
Now just need an answer on the Radio firmware part!
EDIT!!
Install HardSPL first (guide)
then install the new radio (guide)
It has appeared on Orange's business site here

Could it be the official wm6 update?
Nope, it's WM 5.0, why did they even bother to post it?
What Radio ROM version does it come with?
It comes with:
IPL 1.01
SPL 1.11
Radio 1.38.00.01
Operator version 14.211.1.613
Rom version 2.11.61.3
Rom date 05/21/07 (yes this IS the one released OCT 07)
Protocol version 32.71.7020.12H
OS 5.1.465
Build 15673.3.3.1
Isn't this a duplicate of the April 07 ROM update?
No the "new" one is 50.0mb in size and the "older" one is 48.7mb in size. So far I haven't seen any differences, but have not spent much time with it...

Click to collapse
Not sure what differences there are but in terms of "Numbers", the only differences between the previous release and this one are:
OLD
Operator version 14.211.1.611
Rom version 2.11.61.1
NEW
Operator version 14.211.1.613
Rom version 2.11.61.3
....so does that mean any changes will only be seen in the "Orange Customisations" apps?
Matt
Yet another pointless move from Orange.
FFS sort it out Orange, release the damn Tytn2 to the retail channels already, you should have done this in September instead of insisting you knew nothing of a new SPV to be released.
Oh and whilst you are at it, sort out "unlimited*" data packages like the other operators offer as 30Mb for £8 a month just doesn't cut it, when I spend £45 a month on my voice and text package.
iis there a beta wm6 rom or leaked official orane wm6 rom for hermes
could have swarn there was one leaked??

I'll go get me one of these....
Or go to your local Orange shop where they have them in stock and not part of an out of date 'Coming Soon' page.....
Ok, i suspect this has been asked a million times before.... Yeah i've been to raph wiki... Just want to clarify things, its too much info and i want to know if i get everything right. Please help me get my head around this if you can.
My phone:
Vodafone HTC Touch Pro (factory not SIM-locked)
CE OS build 19945.1.2.3
Rom version: 1.90.161.5 WWE
Date: 09/03/08
Radio: 1.02.25.19
Protocol: 52.33.25.17U
I have HardSPL'ed my phone successfully. If i want to flash another RAPHAEL radio i dont need to do anything else. "Security" unlock is only needed if non-raphael radios need to be flashed (such as diamond?)?
Do i replace current Vodafone rom (besides radio)? Is there a good reason to do so ? If so, which one and why ? Not interested in software overload, but prefer to have Touch Flo and as much speed as possible. I have read that t-mobile Vario4 roms are extremely bad, cant say this about Voda, but what do i know - i only owned HTC s710 (Orange SPV E650) for a year or 2. (flashed it to WM6.1 myself, came with 6.0)
How do i unload contacts, software, games off the s710 to my TP ?
So much questions. Please bear with me.
Thanks for your time.
To answer your rom question, the newest roms are version 5.05 instead of 1.90. I have an unbranded tp so I just installed the official 5.05 and no custom one. But if you're looking for speed you should check out energyrom 2.0 I guess. Your contacts can be easily ported from s710 to tp using outlook. Use activesync to sync your 710 contacts with outlook and then sync outlook with your tp. I've done the same with my old s620 and it's the only way I've found that works. There are programs in which you can backup you contacts (such as sktools) but from smartphone to ppc it doesn't seem to work.
since i've got HD2 i have been tryng lots of combinations for radio and rom
but nothing works fine.. poor signal, data keeps droping and changing a lot..
does anyone know what configuration is best to use with vodafone uk? (my sim card is new)
ROM:Artemis 41.0 WWE (02/11/2010)
RADIO: 2.12.50.02_2
2.08.hspl
thanks!!
hi Ch,
sorry but there is no such animal as 'the best.........etc'
depends on too many factors - most specifically - your location in UK.
i live near Axminster, Devon & have tried dozens of combi's.
currently (check sig) works for me - radio version 2.15.50.14 is miles ahead of all others (up here in the hills).
keep flashing - it will come right - promise. HD2 is a superb m/c.
I have to agree, Ive found 2.15 radio best so far battery not amazing but it more than makes up for it... other than that I am using 2.10 as in my sig.
Basically I have come to the conclusion that Vodafone sucks, its not the radio its F***ing Them! They used to be really good but I think their network is running on economy or something.
I'll be moving to O2 when my contract runs out.
@ osrix
+1 on that.
o2 is also coming my way soon.
edit: better change 1st part my sig. lol
Dude, I think your problem might be that you are using Artemis ROM v41 with HSPL2.08.
If you read the Artemis ROM thread, all versions after v37 (so v40, v41, v42) are built from the new SPL 3.14 base.
There are reported memory issues when using these later Artemis ROMs with HSPL2.08 and it is recommended to use the stock ROM 3.14 SPL.
Unfortunately if your phone is a Vodaphone, 02 or T-Mobile UK branded HD2 there is not a stock ROM v3.14 available yet. (no-one seems to know if they are planned).
If you read the Artemis thread you have a couple of options:
1.) Flash v40/v41/v42 using the Goldcard method to "rebrand" your phone to orange/HTC
2.) Use Artemis v37 which will work fine with HSPL2.08 (this is what I'm currently using & its working fine)
after a goldcard boot method running an official rom, phone stucks 0% on cooked
I got a gold card and have flashed an official leo 3.14 rom using the boot method pressing buttons..
but now, when I try to flash an artemis from gold card or usb the process gets stuck on 0%!!
now there..
spl 3.03........
(WWE) 3.14.405.2
Radio: 2.15.50.14
Manila: 2.5
vodafone uk - still
**android works fine with this official rom but i want other.. should i come back do 2.08 spl??thx
Hi Guys,
I am also with Vodafone UK, using their official Stock ROM 1.72 and having same/like problems you have indicated. I live in Manchester and even so don't have a decent signal at home. At least they gave me their Sure Signal unit to boost my home reception.
I was with O2 before moving to Vodafone (bcz they at had that time the best price plan for a free HD2 handset) and regret the day. O2 has a much better network and a fantastic Customers Service. I was lucky to be on one of the last 12 months contract Vodafone offered so in 3 months time I would be back with O2!
