Is it just me or does it take forever for data to come back on? I like to save as much battery as I can so I use only 2g network and toggle 3g when I really need it. But everytime I do this in the settings, it takes a good 30-45 seconds to come back on. If this normal?
Sent from my SGH-T959
It does take a few seconds but not 30-45 usually about 2-3 to cut off data and 2-3 more to reconnect.. thats been my experience...

Hi,
I have T-Mobile USA with radio ver. 6.24 and OS 6.00.14. I noticed that GPRS in this version is constantly ON (I have not found a way to selectively turn it off), even when I resume from stand by it'll still show ON. I don't have problem with that since T-Mobile has a flat fee for GPRS the only corncern is that since it's always on it'll consume energy from my batteries when I'm actually not using my phone or I misunderstanding something....

I hold my red hardware "end" button down for about 3 seconds and GPRS disconnects.

This has not been my experience. I am connected to GPRS virtually 24/7 for weeks now and have not seen any appreciable difference in battery life. Like GSM itself, I suspect the transmissions required to maintain a connection are quite lenient.

But holding End button also disconnects phone which I don't want to do

I'm assuming you mean that it turns the phone radio off, as opposed to it hangs up the call you are on.
On my phone, if I'm connected to GPRS, a 2-3 second hold of the end button drops the GPRS connection, but the phone stays on. A subsequent second press of 4-5 seconds then shuts the phone off; But the first press does not. Is yours different?
I am running "hybrid", that is I have a formerly ATTWS phone that I'm now running on T-mobile-- ROM 4.00.11 ENG from the kitchen, "stock" RSU A.20.10 from ATTWS.
I too have noticed very little difference in battery life with GPRS left on. Actually I'd say no difference, though I'm sure it's got to make at least a tiny difference. I wouldn't worry about it.
Hi guys, I have enjoyed my HD2 for a half year now, but after a recent trip abroad, during which I pulled out my sim card, my phone now does not try to reconnect to the tmobile network after losing a signal.
For example, I do not receive a signal at my school, however, when I leave school in the afternoon, my phone still does not receive a signal. I have to manually go into phone settings in the comm manager and "find network" to be able to connect. Does anyone know how to fix this? Because this is really annoying having to do this everyday after school...
the phone stops searching after so long. (Cant remember how long, an hour, maybe)
HTC say this is to prevent the phone spending all day searching for a cell tower, which it does at full power, so your battery would die rather quickly.
Rather than manually searching for a signal, you should be able to switch to airplane mode then back to normal again.
well, it used to work fine before I left the country, and turning the antenna on/off does not solve the problem
The data connection on my gs2 is constantly cutting out when the screen is off. I'm getting the best connection I coud get but after about 10-20 minutes of using it as a wifi hotspot nothing on my iPad will load, I check my phone and the H symbol has gone but appears not long after I take it out of standby, how do get it to keep data on? It never does this on a 3G signal just on the high speed onnection.
I'm using sensation rom 4.1 with siyah 4.1.5
My Optimus L9 isn't getting service AT ALL. I've had this phone for 6 months with no problem. I've always had service at my house and neighboring areas, but for the past 2 days I've had none. Not even one bar and no data. I can still use my phone for texting and making calls when connected to wifi using "wifi-calling". I've tried turning the phone off for hours, I've taken out the battery and SIM, and I've even turned it on airplane mode and then turned it off. Nothing is working. It will get service for 1 to 2 seconds after turning it on, then it quickly loses it. When I try making a call a message displays reading "to place call, first turn off airplane mode". IT'S NOT ON AIRPLANE MODE -__-! This is really frustrating!!!

If you haven't done any hacking(root, unlock bootloader, etc) go ahead and call your Cellular Provider and have them troubleshoot.
Hello
I had this V30+ H930G for awhile and it's been about 10 days that my WiFi keeps dropping when I connect it and if I try to reconnect it quickly after it drops (by clicking Connect) nothing happens so I have to either wait a few seconds or disable and enable wifi to get a retry at connecting which I still have a high chance of getting DCed again from WiFi.
Here is what I tried so far:
4 Different WiFi routers one of them were another cellphone.
Network Reset
turn on and off battery saving
Updating/repair phone through LG Bridge.
Reset/Erase everything.
sometimes my WiFi stays on for hours but sometimes it just drops every 5 seconds. with full 5 bars
even if the WiFi is open and not password protected it drops.
so does it sound like hardware problem? I didn't try to downgrade to previous versions. I don't wanna repair this phone if possible, but I'm still wondering if this is a hardware problem or just software?
