Hey, have u tried "dalvik debug monitor" during playing HD games or apps with huge data in internal memory?
I think that debugging software is very important.
unintentionally, i've re-located the content of APK file to sd card.
I found it can be relocate.. when I watch the logs text that appears on the state of dalvik debug monitor.
and then, i drop off several data file from apk file to sd card.. yeah! actually, you must see the logs, where the location of data file and what file that can be save to the sd card..
then..re-build apk file and install it on your X10. It's works!
I've tested several games : Breakbreakers, The Sims 3 HD, NFS Shift.
Check this out :
Breakbreakers
Before : on internal memory stored : 18 MB.
After : on internal memory : 756 KB, sd card : 17 MB.

NFS Shift
Before : on internal memory stored : 39 MB.
After : on internal memory : 869 KB, sd card : 38 MB.
The Sims 3 HD
Before : on internal memory stored : 12 MB
After : on internal memory : 1109 KB, sd card : 10 MB.
good
where this app ?
i need test this app on x10 mini
If you mean the DDM, its in the tools directory of the android sdk.
if you think theres a program that just moves programs on the sd card (and does all the work), you missunderstood the first posting.
The question is -> How?
i found dalvikvm on /system/bin
move this?
it'd be great if there was a step-by-step guide on how to do this properly i'd really like to free up some space and i'm sure some others would as well..
Nice one, how did you unmount the .apk files?
NVM found this:
"The apk is really just a ZIP file. Try renaming the file to whatever.apk.zip and open using your favorite ZIP utility. You should be able to view all the contents. Resources (such as images) can be extracted. The java code is compiled into a .dex file so you can't view the raw code, but there are utilities (like this one) to decompile it: http://dedexer.sourceforge.net/"
Now to see the logs and location of data files i need dalvik debug monitor, or can i use another way?
Hi men,
I try to do this but I can't find where data file are in ddx file...
Can we have more information widy?

i have the App2sd from the Xten Custom ROM you can find it if you search a little bit! i have installed the ROM and the last thing i've find out that the apps went to the SD not the internal memory! i changed the ROM i installed the Eminence ROM to just see if it was an error or not! guess what? it still have the App2SD even when i changed the ROM. try it and let me know after.
cheers
EDIT: Do Not Format Your SDcard if you do then do it before you install the Xten's ROM not after.

Hi everyone,

It's probably used by programs you installed. If you don't care for those programs, try to uninstall them. That will free up some space.

"Others" is just the collection of all not video, not picture and not music files on your sd card.
It could be downloads, backups, system/cache files, app data (e.g. local maps, offline information, etc.), emails, messages, contacts, calendar entries, etc.
So, "Others" gives you nearly no additional information about what it is really.
You should have a closer look at your sd card content with a file explorer, such as ES File Explorer (free app from Google Play store).
Then browse your files.
Some suggestions:
1. Maybe you can remove all unused apps in menu "Settings" > "Applications" first. Some apps need much storage on your sd card - especially those with local/offline data.
2. And check your email/messages. Maybe you can remove all old entries to get more free space on your internal storage.
3. Check your download/browser folder(s). Maybe there is a high internet "cache". In most browsers you can set an option to remove the internet cache.
Good luck !

Try this, easier, safer and better
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
Well used you should be capable to get the combined storage app space of the internal and external sd
I have installed asphalt 7, tdkr, mc4, vice city, amazing spiderman, nfs most wanted, wild blood just pointing the heavier ones (20 games right now) and I have 5.3 gb free on internal sd plus much more on the ext
I'm already counting that your phone is rooted, your external sd is a good one for game performance and you know what you're doing to get this working

I already tried many of these programs, also "GL to sd" but everytime I want to play a game I need to mount the SD card in the app in order to play, that was very annoying. I have now bought 16gb sandisk class 10 and I dont need to worry about the storage anymore:good::victory:

It seems that you missed some of the updates of the app, when you mount it ONCE it kepps there always, there's an option to set on boot and auto-dismount /re-mount when you plug / unplug from PC so no worries at all at any time, since I first insalled that app 3 weeks ago I never went back to set nothing, why would you mount and unmount each time? or is another app which you are talking about

Low internal storage is a very common and biggest problem with our device.
Can anyone who is well-versed with mobile hardware try using this method as reference to develop same method for our device?

You need to open the streak housing ... follow the link below and good luck.. be gentle and be careful .. just do it slow and steady and you will be ok ... no need to rush anything there ... :good:
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Dell-Streak-Teardown/3512/1
------------------------------------------------------
NEXT - SELECT APPROPRIATE USER TYPE:-
LINUX USERS:
Just follow this link > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24799755&postcount=65
WINDOWS USERS:
first.. get this... http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/
make sure it is USB Image Tool 1.59 when you download...
next get gparted-live-0.13.1-2.iso
burn it to the CD...
- after you have extracted the usb image tool... open USB Image Tool.exe
- select the corresponding usb drive and click backup, save it something like streakinternal.img
- it will take some time to complete ( have instant noodle for the time being )
- once done... replace the sd card that you want to transfer the image to and click restore and select the earlier streakinternal.img
- again.. it will take some time to complete (you can have snack this time )
note: make sure the target sdcard is the same or bigger in size (obviously)...
- once completed...
- reboot your pc and insert the burned CD earlier... let it boot from it... just press enter to everything it ask until it fully loaded into linux environment
- gparted should already show your sdcard drive there... it should show /dev/sda1 and below it got two more partition /dev/sda5 (ext3) and /dev/sda6 (ext3)
- select /dev/sda1 and right click it and select move/resize
- there should be visual displaying the drive structure and on the right, there should be arrow, drag it to the most right, click ok
- now, select /dev/sda6 and right click it and select move/resize
- again, on it, there should be arrow on the right, drag it to the most right and click ok
- once all that done, click apply and it will start to do its work..
- let it completes it work and your sd card now should be able to be use as internal sd...
- your streak should be able to boot straight away.. no need to wipe cache or something like that...
- have fun having big internal sd
p/s: i wrote this based on my memory, i hope i dont messed it up
------------------------------------------------------
POSSIBLE FAQ:
-- 01 --
Q - Will the method used gone if i do factory reset?
A - Nope. You can safely do it and the structure will be maintained.
-- 02 --
Q - Can i use more than 16gb card?
A - Theoretically, yes.
-- 03 --
Q - Can we use this as sd storage as well?
A - Sorry. We cant because it is formated in ext3, so windows see it as unformatted medium.
-- 04 --
Q - Cant we create shortcut in external sd to access it?
A - Sorry. We cant because symlink does not work on any windows formatted medium since external sd usually formatted in fat32
-- 05 --
Q - Cant we mount this at all?
A - Somebody has tried it before but since the internal sd never meant to be accessed externally, the support is pretty much impossible.
-- 06 --
Q - How can we access it and where is it located?
A - To access the space, you can use root explorer and wifi file explorer (anything similar will do) and it is located at /data from /
Therefore, you must be rooted to access it.
-- 07 --
Q - So, what the hell am i supposed to do with those huge extra GBs?
A - Well, you can brag bout it to your friends, saying it got this huge internal sd space and can install hundreds of applications or games and still got space left for more.
------------------------------------------------------
MORE ADVANCED MODS.:
If you think having large innerSD is not enough, we could have larger /system dir and possible dual usb mount support by default (in the near future hopefully) for our streak 5.
Have a visit to the link below...

Our streak 5 might be old but it is still competitive regardless

hi...
i had a similar problem on my sgs2 (with cm 10.1-20130710-NIGHTLY-i9100). it turned out to be a bug that was filling the folder /data/log with log files because of connection problems with the cellular network. the log files were using up more than 1 gb of space. if you have root you could take a look if that's using up your space.

Seems /data partition is full. It's unaccessible without root.
I have looking similar situation 2 times, and solved with root magiic.
First time my external sdcars got a corrupted file with strange name - nobody knows how it was, but then media indexer gone mad - it consumes cpu for a days, and fill /data volume with kind of incomplete indexes.
Happy end was - to fix extenal sdcard filesystem, then clear media indexer data.
second case was caused with flickr uploader program. because of error in program (now it fixed) it writes a tons of data into log file, pllaced inside /data. Was fixed by removing program with all application data.
Both of that cases was fixed technically without a root, but first step was running "Storage Analyser" in root mode - to find folder with abnormal large size on /data partition.

paranoidisc tell truth. I run a filesystem check and fix on my PC, because error was at SD card.
you still can run a check filesystem on a PC unil filesystem is FAT and volume can be exported via USB as block deice ("usb storage").
or u can try this method suggested by @esd from NeatRom
Install this on your PC

connect your phone in mass storage mode and delete it using unlocker.

Yes. I know you're going to tell me to use the search or google, etc. But believe me when I say I have tried a lot already.
I'm getting this error when I try to install or update almost every APK on my Android. SOME will install or update and I can tell you there's nothing to do with file size. The storages seem to have plenty of free space, apps install smoothly when I factory reset my phone, but after a few days I start getting this annoying error.
I'm running the latest Nightly build from CyanogemMod for LG p720h (Yea, it's not stable and I know I should expect some... erm... bugs). It's Android 4.1.2.
I know the Internal Storage is emulated and have tried many many many fixes I found in this very forum and all over the internet. I'm a game developer so I know a few things about adb shell/logcats but couldn't find/understand anything analizing those during an APK install. I can provide logs, etc.
Can anyone help me find out how to solve this problem? Any idea of what's going on?

Is because your phone doesn't have enough ram(storage for apps) to hold those apps. If you have an sd card you can use AppMgr III (App 2 SD):

You can move apps to either internal or external storage

I was able to install this app but it didn't work, it says the primary external storage is emulated. The Storage manager says it has 548mb free space on my internal storage which should be plenty.
And even if I uninstall an app 50mb big I can't install other apps, even if they're 1MB or less. I don't think it has anything to do with "real" available storage.

It's not related to log files too, I can't even find the log folders.
