i plug in the headphones into my X10i but whenever i play a song, the music doesnt go through the headphones it goes through the speakers
Did you try with another headphones ? Maybe it's only the headphones that have a problem.
Take it you want a hand with your issue?

sorry im not understanding what youre trying to tell me
Sounds to me the contacts are not working well. Does the inside looks a bit dirty? try cleaning it carefully with alcohol or another clean liquid, that might help.

thanks that worked !
you're welcome. Glad to hear it worked. Always a bit tricky as it's an uncovered hole in the phone which is attracting dust and dirt easily in your pocket...

Hi everyone.
I have my Razr Maxx with bootmenu and the leaked version of ICS (676.226.3.XT910.Retail.en.EU) and today I was going to listen some music when I found my official Motorola wired headphones aren't recognised by the phone.
I plugged them to my PC and they work ok. But the phone doesn't even show the headphones icon, and any sound played (even music from the regular moto player or spotify) sound in the phone's loudspeaker.
Anyone has found this or knows how can I fix it ?
Could it be a kernel/bootloader problem ?
Cheers!
i had the same issue and it was a hardware thinh which my warranty covered

Get alumm papper. Make it as a tiny stick and insert once on the headphone jack with a music being played. When the sound desapear, try ur phone.

wouldn't that be prone to make a shortcircuit in the headphones plug?

I tried all the methods and none did work. Today I've uninstalled bootmenu/hijack and all that stuff... now it works... incredible... maybe some kernel problem? Or I was just lucky and the yesterday's cleaning worked today? strange...
Anyway, I'm glad it's working now... Spotify! there we go!
PS: I prefer Metallica or a little Foo Fighters... but AC/DC is quite good... XD
Cheers!
I have this issue too.
When on official ics from Motorola it works. But not on FTS 3 B1.2
Sendt fra min XT910 med Tapatalk2
That's weird. I have this problem too - but headphones aren't working nor on CM9 (non-kexec) neither on stock Motorola ICS (newest one). I've tried even another headphones, but they don't work either. Has anyone find a solution? Other than cleaning, because I've tried it - without effect :/
Since search didn't help..
Must ask, do you guys have problems with the headphone input coming out a bit while the original headphone+mic connected to it and losing audio cause of that?
Just a little touch or twist is enough to make the plug come out by one milimeter to lose audio.
Haven't tested with regular head phones connector, yet.

My headphones most times won't connect with the phone. I have to pull it in and out few times to get the phone to recognize that the headphones are in. I know its not the headphones or the Rom. What could be causing this and would there be a way to fix this?

Do u have a case on the phone, my case I have I have to make sure the jack pushes in all they way or it won't connect or could be that the jack on the phone is getting loose or wore out if you use headphones alot.

Honestly it sounds like a dirty head phone jack. And in your case I would use something a little moist, not really wet at all and clean it out.

What would be a safe thing to use for that?
I have the same issue, but used that as an excuse to get bluetooth earphones

I just had this issue when I (half-brained) decided to clean the ports out on my DNA with a soft-bristle toothbrush, since my font LED was extremely dim. After cleaning some lint out of the jack, I must've left some in, as it took some cycles of plugging in and unplugging earphones to get it working again. Haven't had trouble since.
Had this same issue. Use a needle and carefully pry the 2 little tabs inside for better contact.

I had the same issue with both my old DNA and my current one. I actually warrantied out my old one because of the issue my current one I managed to fix. I was reading online (i googled the issue) and found a couple other people had the same problem. I work for an IT company that uses the Square Card readers to accept credit cards so I HAD to get the issue fixed. Someone suggested using compressed air, aka canned air, and spray into the jack. Worked like a dream. Haven't had an issue since I did this.
If none of the cleaning tips work, there is an app called SoudAbout on the Play Store. You can use it too force the audio through the jack even if your phone doesn't recognize they're plugged in. The free version is all I've used. Link
Its being 1 month My HTC Droid Dna's Audio jack not working.
Around a month ago I feel that my audio jack flickering on and off.
After that stops working for a while and again starts working properly.
Now its completely dead I think.
Tried removing lint from it but there is nothing.
Googled it and found this link
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-HTC-Droid-DNA-Butterfly-Headphone-Jack-Simcard-Sim-Slot-Holder-Power-Flex-Cable/1477850071.html
Just want some help here.
Is it the only solution(replacing above unit with sim tray, audio jack, power flex ) for this?:crying:
Or there is another way to handle this (replacing only audio jack if possible).:fingers-crossed:
since it will cost me a lot replacing the whole assembly.
Thanks

Have you tried different headphones. I would say if there isn't anything in it then it probably went dead. Did you make sure the pins inside were making contact?

I read on the forum that someone else that was having problems with their headphone jack pulled the pins out a little bit. They stuck an object in and gently bent them out more and they had success. It's worth a try. Don't bend them too far though.

I have this problem from time to time. I bought some canned air and spay first to rid moisture and then blow it in the jack and use a wood round toothpick and clean it out. Should work fine.
