Its being 1 month My HTC Droid Dna's Audio jack not working.
Around a month ago I feel that my audio jack flickering on and off.
After that stops working for a while and again starts working properly.
Now its completely dead I think.
Tried removing lint from it but there is nothing.
Googled it and found this link
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-HTC-Droid-DNA-Butterfly-Headphone-Jack-Simcard-Sim-Slot-Holder-Power-Flex-Cable/1477850071.html
Just want some help here.
Is it the only solution(replacing above unit with sim tray, audio jack, power flex ) for this?:crying:
Or there is another way to handle this (replacing only audio jack if possible).:fingers-crossed:
since it will cost me a lot replacing the whole assembly.
Thanks

Have you tried different headphones. I would say if there isn't anything in it then it probably went dead. Did you make sure the pins inside were making contact?

Thanks for the reply.
Already tried many headphones but no luck.
For pins I don't know if they are in contact with jack or not.
If you can help me out, how do i check those it would be great help
Or anything else related to the problem you are welcome my friend :victory:

I read on the forum that someone else that was having problems with their headphone jack pulled the pins out a little bit. They stuck an object in and gently bent them out more and they had success. It's worth a try. Don't bend them too far though.

Let me know how it works out. Worse come to worse you replace the part. Hopefully it doesn't come down to that. ?

I have this problem from time to time. I bought some canned air and spay first to rid moisture and then blow it in the jack and use a wood round toothpick and clean it out. Should work fine.

Just bought my second AMAZE. Rooted & S-OFF yesterday. Don't kno if it is from rooted or just a hardware issue. ANYBODY ELSE!!!!!!!
what's your problem?
My Headphones. Keep disconnecting. And I tried two different headphones
Both headphones work on my glacier so I kno its the phone itself. Just curious if anybody else encountered the same problem if not then its definitely an hardware issue.
I'm starting to have the same issue, my bro had this.problem as well. It is a hardware issue

I usually use BlueTooth but i remember the batt being a bit flat so i plugged in to the jack and it seemed a bit cracklely.. Sounds like a common fault.

No mine does not work at all when you plug in the headphone jack normally, I have to plug it in slowly untill it works

On one of mine on headphones with mic and button, button click in not recognized.
On another works just fine.
Tried 3 different headphones – same result.
Installed app to detect/configure clicks – it doesn’t see any button clicks.
Headphones and mic works fine on both – means every ring on 3.5 jack has proper contact.
What else could it be?
I can plug super slowly – the icon changes from headphones to headphones with mic.
But button doesn’t work still
I see I'm not the only one with this problem I'm just surprised cause my phone was only one day old. My wife has the same phone non rooted will check hers tonight when I get home from work. If hers work I'm just going to swap it out and see if still has the problem.
OK so I stopped home reel quick and checked my wife's phone and her non rooted phone jack does the same thing so its either the OTA UPDATE or they just gave us a crappy jack port to all phones
I'm testing it out on my phone right now. What is it that I'm looking for because everything is working here for me.
Well I'm listening to a song on YT though.
Don't know if that makes a difference.
The headphones keep connecting & disconnect like every couple of seconds. It will not hold a steady connection for the headphones.
mine was fine before OTA, now i got the same problem

Its not a rom issue. In post ten I stated that my wify's non-rooted HTC AMAZE with ota has the same problem
Since search didn't help..
Must ask, do you guys have problems with the headphone input coming out a bit while the original headphone+mic connected to it and losing audio cause of that?
Just a little touch or twist is enough to make the plug come out by one milimeter to lose audio.
Haven't tested with regular head phones connector, yet.

I've found that my problem is my charging Jack on the phone. There is something mechanically intermittent. Does anybody know anyone who might do this work instead of sending it back to the factory? I'll be happy to pay well.

Is it charging then not charging? On my old one my charger flex cable went bad and I had to replace it because eventually my phone stopped charging all together. Its like a 10 dollar part and takes about 15 minutes to replace. There are guides on YouTube to talk ya through it.

I had issues with the usb port cutting in and out when connecting to charger or computer,
Changed cables and did nothing same deal,
Then I changed roms and some magical way it fixed it not sure how that all worked out but maybe this will help,
goodluck
I sent it away.
For forty dollars it came back as good as new and the old part was obviously defective.

Yes, but the troubleshooting process is to go from simple to complex, from cheap to expensive. Cracked solder joints and lint would both give intermittent errors.
It was a suggestion, not an argument.

I understand that. I just wanted to make it clear to others that when the simple solutions don't work, and you're not confident of doing the work yourself, there is a reasonably priced reliable alternative.

My headphones most times won't connect with the phone. I have to pull it in and out few times to get the phone to recognize that the headphones are in. I know its not the headphones or the Rom. What could be causing this and would there be a way to fix this?

Do u have a case on the phone, my case I have I have to make sure the jack pushes in all they way or it won't connect or could be that the jack on the phone is getting loose or wore out if you use headphones alot.

Honestly it sounds like a dirty head phone jack. And in your case I would use something a little moist, not really wet at all and clean it out.

What would be a safe thing to use for that?
I have the same issue, but used that as an excuse to get bluetooth earphones
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I just had this issue when I (half-brained) decided to clean the ports out on my DNA with a soft-bristle toothbrush, since my font LED was extremely dim. After cleaning some lint out of the jack, I must've left some in, as it took some cycles of plugging in and unplugging earphones to get it working again. Haven't had trouble since.
Had this same issue. Use a needle and carefully pry the 2 little tabs inside for better contact.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I had the same issue with both my old DNA and my current one. I actually warrantied out my old one because of the issue my current one I managed to fix. I was reading online (i googled the issue) and found a couple other people had the same problem. I work for an IT company that uses the Square Card readers to accept credit cards so I HAD to get the issue fixed. Someone suggested using compressed air, aka canned air, and spray into the jack. Worked like a dream. Haven't had an issue since I did this.
If none of the cleaning tips work, there is an app called SoudAbout on the Play Store. You can use it too force the audio through the jack even if your phone doesn't recognize they're plugged in. The free version is all I've used. Link
Need help.
Replaced Charger port flex cable and speaker still have no sound.
What could be causing this issue.
I lareadt hard resey and installed latest RUU still nothing
It's possible that one of the connections is lose or may have ripped. Check that all the cables are firmly secure and in place.

thanks for replay already check socket with maginify glass all joints and pins look fine.
It's either the other flex cable or mainboard issue... I should be receiving another parts phone in a few days and will better at narrowing down the problem.
