Hey all. I am currently running darkstone froyo 2.1 with the latest miri rom. it seems to be running pretty smooth but every once in a while when i lock the phone and try to unlock it the screen stays black and i am forced to take the battery out and reset the phone. I've been looking around trying to find the best combo for the android rom but really cant find a definite answer.
So i am wondering what are you guys running and how is it working for you?
Specs?
Radio?
Kernel Ver?
Leo or Leo1024?

Try using
Radio: 2.12
Rom: ChuckyDroid rom
Droid: shubCRAFT's builds
Clean install of android formatting your sdCard. This is running perfect for me, no SOD nor any other problems...
16gb sd card, leo1024, miri HD2 rom v 18.0, radio version 2.10.5026, no sure of the kernal version.
Id really like to know this as well. I have grown to HATE winmo on my Tmo HD2

I use the same build, had the same problem, uncheck the automatic brightness fixed my problem, you should give it a try.
Running Xcelsiors sense build for 2 weeks now, no freezes and good battery life!

I'm using FroyoStone v1. Everything works right out of the box. I've tried a few other builds but really can't find a better one than this. If v1 is this good, I can't wait to see what DarkStone has up his sleeve for v2.

Well i tried out Froyostone v1, the miri rom stated above, radio 2.10.50.26 and its been running pretty smooth. the screen will freeze for a quick second here and there, but i can live with it.so far so good.
Most Stable Combo I Have Tried To Date
mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.6b
2.11.50 Radio (most stable and eats up less power)
WinMo Registry Tweaks for Increased Battery Life
I used Advanced Config in WinMo to disable all of the Power Management Features.
I am also using SetCPU to underclock my HD2. I am running it at 726MHZ and it still is very responsive.
I have also used this combo on my girlfriend's Euro HD2 with 512ROM with no issues at all.
Don't forget to format the SD with Fat32 with the highest allocation unit and calibrate G sensors in both WinMo and Android. Please let me know if my combo works for you too.
I tried to post links but as a new user, I am restricted. email me and I will send you links otherwise search using the description I posted.
GOOD LUCK!!!

transformer1 or touch V7 which one you have now(be true)
i myself have touch V7
my guess is alot because transformer1 has had 27,319 views by the time i am writing this post where as touch V7 has had 44,751 where as if you consider simple difference of a few hours of rom's release views should not vary at this scale although this has nothing to do with number of people upgrading .
hi...
i'm running TNT5 Official...
touch V7 however Im going to try Transformer 1.1 since I keep getting Blank screen bugs and OS screen freezes, what a hoot.
Happily using Transformer 1.0 since the day it was released, but will upgrade to 1.1 tonight. I have not tried touch V7 at all.

Hi...
T1.1 is not "still" with build 17944 it's again with this build as descripted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1527184&postcount=2
Useless topic.
I used both of them but best one I think TNT 5 series
I use Touch V7, but still, kinda useless topic.
I'm using the new build beta test from Cloudyfa PDAVIET.
Oh! By the way, this new build doesn't have a name yet. As far as I know, it will be not touch nor cross... stay tuned
used both, too
since yesterday fully successed with tnt5 official
its the most slim, fast and stable rom and running fine. 29mb of free ram with 6mb pp rules =)

I am using TRANC1 from the day it was launched.....
but I am fan of gullum rom too ..... right now I am going 2 try the 1.1 ver........
New build beta test PDAVIET.
I'm using the new build beta test from Cloudyfa PDAVIET.
The best so far ??? i try all of them and in my opinion transport 1.1
is by far the best and the most stable.
Since sincerely of the above mentioned roms they all are enough good, but they they all fail in the same:
- connection bluetooth-free hands - gps
When the bluetooth is connected to the free hands and to the gps, it fails enough, but happens to all roms: tnt v5, gollum V7, transformer 1.1, crystal, etc..
Greetings
Hello,
This is y first post, but I watch this forum for longer time.
I use TNT5 Pro. Its working great, very fast and much RAM.
thanx for gr8 replies
well I'm on transformer 1.1 right now but just charging up for a reflash to TNT. I really like cloudyfa's roms but the speed of TNT was so nice, also TNT was about the only rom that actually kept my gprs working after hard reset
*(in the others I would have to go into "edit connection" (without actually changing anything) , every time.
In fact I'm scared of using windows live with "as items arrive" now, with more than one rom it would get stuck on the password screen after reboot and wouldn't even let me get to the "edit connection" screen.
TNT (pro) is about the only one I have found where the gprs settings persist nicely (at least after turning off with the button on the side). I can't say I've tried all roms though, and i used to often use the stylus or psshutxp to reboot; maybe that's not good? I'd be interested to hear other people's experiences regarding gprs settings persisting after reboot
Moving a bit beyond my level of comprehension, I remember something about the way wm6 handles reg. settings, and moves settings from RAM to ROM. Can anyone elaborate? Is this also the cause of the infamous "bluetooth forced repairing after reboot" bug in so many of the WM6 ROMs?
*the gprs settings would look as if they were still there as normal, but would not work until after tapping "edit connection"
Transformer 1.1 is the best rom so far. No issues, grt sped, overall an extremely stable rom..
my old fuze died which i put winmo 6.5 on based of a rom i made using the PPC Kitchen.
**edit: this is not the reason it died, infact i loaded a stable build and it worked great with nothing needed for 18months... my screen developed an oily residue... strange enough**
need to flash a new rom on the new phone i got as i had insurance on my old one. havent done it in a over a year so i am not sure what the best and most stable version/build is... and also curious about "radios" not sure what that is.
i am looking for:
stability as i dont plan on flashing often.
improved speaker quality
smaller text
teathering
mobile hotspot
better gps signal pick up
any sugestions?
as always i appreciate any help and will be donating to the rom i use.
Thanks
FYI: Radio are the internal GSM Radio Band, basically the software/hardware combo for an internal antenna. Upgrading to newer Radios sometimes help with battery life, performance, and reception/signal in general.
And for my ROM recommendations, I'd recommend two:
Captain's Special found HERE.
And/or the TAEL ROM [click the image right below this text.]
thanks Zack i went with the latest energy rom. i will give it a go for a couple days and i updated the radio after i updated the rom to 1.02.25.32i will give it a i usually take off TF#D i will give Sences a a small run it looks to be using alot of memory60-75%.
Yeah, HTC Sense is a memory hog... But hey, you must pay for beauty.
Glad to see you selected a ROM. I would've recommended an EnergyROM, but, in my opinion, there's just too much stuff pre-installed [for my taste].
try tael if you want stability. im currently using the latest energy one and my battery dies quickly. but taels battery lasts longer
Morning, Fellow Forumers!
I've been using my HD2 for a few months now, and every day my frustration grows. This thing is unstable as hell. It either stops responding completely, or the phone application hangs (sometimes it's impossible to hang up a call), or just the backlight works, or the UMTS stops working... PAIN AND MISERY! I have it upgraded to the latest official firmware, but it doesn't help at all. Tried the Touch Tools to turn off unneccesary stuff - still no good.
It's even worse when it's BT'd to my Audi MMI. Every 10 seconds or so it's completely stuck for like 2-3 seconds. It looks like the BT firmware has not been optimized at all and whenever it refreshes the phonebook/calls list/etc with my car, the GUI is dead. Fixing that would be great stuff.
So, I'm asking to point me in the right direction. I don't care about warranty or anything, just want this device to be stable! Since the official FAQ is like 10 pages long... is there a FAQ's FAQ?
Basically - what's my first step? Thanks in advance!
PS: It's a retail version (non-branded) purchased in Poland.

As for me I am very happy with my stock Rom,so far...!!
I have no problems with stock and with most of cooked ROMs
Have you tried re flashing the latest stock rom off the htc website?
task29 can solve most problems, however if you have done all those steps and still getting problams, you may have a faulty unit and it might need to be sent back for repair/replacement.
Really sorry to hear about your problems. Wish I could give you a good solution, other than to do a hard reset and then upgrade to the latest ROM. I am running a stock ROM and the HD2 is the best phone I have ever had. And I have had a few. Good luck.
I used my hd2 on a stock rom for ages, and it was stable enough, with the odd crash occassionally. I recommend using a custom rom. Since a custom rom, my battery life has improved dramatically, my hd2 runs faster and is so stable, i cant crash it if i really try!
Duttys V9 is a personal favourite
Thanks for your help, guys. I decided to reflash to chuckyROM's wm + android 2.2. On android, everything works so much smoother. The only problem is in 80% of the cases, phone would crash when I try to perform a BT call. Might be a wrong radio version, will keep trying.

I have just bought a HTC HD2 and have tried 3 different android builds and all seem to have there problems. But the most thing that is bugging me is the sound on all the builds is the same robot sound. I have looked through all the forums and threads and have not found a clear cut solution. I am hoping someone could help me to the best build and how to fix the sound problem while making and receiving calls.

It is a proven fact that the robot voice is related to your windows ROM.
Find one that is compatible and stop creating redundant threads please.

Can you see post number 2? Click on the words 'Try this'.
I am assuming you know how to flash a ROM and Radio... if you don't, you might want to read this thread, see post number 2.
Do not rush this, or do anything you do not understand.
I just stick with the ChuckyROM. Probably the best one out there that gives you the least problems for android. I like the way Cruzer ROM looked, but I kept getting the robot voice when using android..
+1 for chukydroid , ZERO problems with this one, set excellsior android autoboot to 3 seconds and you don"t even have time to type your pin code in WM.
you can get it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734238
in the tools "menu" you ll find the "format sdcard" tool, never ha a problem using this one , and the "WM Storage" tool to activate USB sharing so you can copy your android build to the card

This is your problem. You must at least have a custom ROM. Remember to flash compatible ROM tovyour phone, otherwise you will risk bricking your phone.

You don't need a custom rom to run android on your htc hd2. The rom you need is the leaked t-mobile hd2 update. You can get that here...

The radio has been upgraded to 2.14.50.04 and has fixed the robot voice that I ALSO have encountered in the past. Btw im using mattc leo v1.8. Im going on over 1 week without a freeze or mishap.
So flash this stock wwe rom and have android running the way it should.
Have fun!
Everything works great now thanks guys, one problem is the speaker is low on the speakerphone option and pretty much the volume in general is low even when turned all the way up.

To increase the speakerphone's volume, you can turn on speakerphone and then turn it off and turn back on. The volume will increases.

I didn't need to do any flashing or ROMs either. 2 builds had the robotic voice until I tried mattc's. Since then I've had no issues with the sound at all.

I had this same problem and had a hard time trying to fix it. Searching these forums is a pain, a clear and easy way to fix the issue should be posted and sticky it so that its easy to find.
so, learn to think.
stop this thread
it is good to help others but you can get all the info on an another thread called definitive guide for android on htc hd2 ,it has all the details.
if your phone is us htc hd2 then use us htc hd2 based wm6 roms like energy leo/elegancia/chucky rom along with 2 10 56 radio this is the be best for me i dont have any echo or robot voice, my htc hd2 is as follows
latest build of energy leo standard wm6 rom
darkstone froyo v 3.1
radio 2 10 56
Thread moved to Q&A.
Is the GB radio leak and a rom good enough for a stable daily driver. Also which rom would you recommend? I'm using the froyo based Bamf remix right now.
CM7
I'm running CM7 with the 223r radio. I don't know about the 2.0 GB radio. It is a bit of a process to get everything working on CM7 at this point. I had to flash twice just to get the GPS working. It was well worth it in my opinion. It was the only way that I know of to get BT wiimote working. I prefer AOSP over any manufactured UI. I do have a reboot a day or so. I get a GPS within a minute or so. I've had to re-apply the wifi fix once. So if you're a tinkerer or you don't mind flashing go for it.

Sorry to say I have not tried it, but what I have read that has more to do with the kernel. I would say load the rom then go and get this kernel.

Concur!! Everything with the GB radio so far has been excellent.
Gingeritis beta VII
Only issue is the stock messaging app has time stamp issues making them come in out of oorder. For me at least. Handcent doesn't have this issue.
Thanks for posting this thread! I had the same question, and thanks to all who replied.
I'm most probably gonna try out Gingeritis. Hopefully there aren't too many issues that prevents it from being my daily driver for sometime..
You can still get WiFi Tether in the Market.
Step 1.) Turn On Airplane Mode
Step 2.) Turn On WiFi
Step 3.) Go Into App Market and Search for "WiFI Tether"
Step 4.) Download and TADA!
It worked for me a few days ago.
Bamf GB has ben solid for me...known issue with the camera hack can lag but does the job for now
I've flashed das BAMF 2.0 betas 2,3, and 4.01 and the only hiccup I've had was one random reboot immediately after flashing beta 3. Everything that I use on a daily basis is fully functional. Unfortunately I'm not able to speak about wireless tether or blue tooth because I never use either of them. Also, I'm not in a 4g area, so I don't know about LTE functionality or 3g/4g transitions. I was very hesitant to flash a ROM based on the gingerbread leak, but team BAMF has really done a great job with an alpha leak. It is definitely stable for me and is my current daily driver, although I know there have been bugs experienced by other users. Lastly, I had been moving away from Sense with the froyo ROMs. I was very impressed with CM7 alpha test 4, and I was using Vanilla Bean 1.2.1 as my daily driver before the gingerbread leak. However, the new Sense 3.0 aspects of das BAMF 2.0 and a couple of the other gingerbread ROMs are great.
Gingeritis works awesome! I love the Sense 3.0 stuff, My speedtest.net almost doubled in my house... maybe it was an anomaly, but I ran the speedtest via the flash based website 3 times with the same results...
No, as of 5.25.11 jcase has informed the community that running the leaked Gingerbread radio could lead to a bricked device.

I'm running Gingeritis VIII and it's a daily. Runs great!
Is the ffc with yahoo and the like working?

It's all about what you want to deal with. Both the new GB leak and CM7 have bugs. If you can see past the bugs because you the functionality and features outweigh the bugs, then you would definitely want to use them as daily drivers. If, on the other hand, you want something a little bit more stable, you may wish to stick with a Froyo ROM. BAMF 1.6.3 for Froyo is excellent.
You'll also have to deal with missing functionality since it's new.
Kernel isn't stable (mainly an issue if you happen to want to adjust the voltage, etc), but you might get random reboots either way.
No direct internet connection sharing to your pc via usb (using your phone's connection for internet).
Many of the modifications have not been ported you would find in froyo roms or if they have, they're a work in progress (6 bar signal, battery icon).
GPS isn't quite as quick as it was due to the unstable nature of the leak.
Various other little things here and there that are missing/buggy like the camera not working entirely correct as it would in froyo.
If you want to be a beta tester/lab rat, feel free to flash
Das BAMF 2.0-4.01 and loving the sense 3.0 in it
for das bamf, un install htc sync and reinstall and the connection works perfectly again
