[Q] Windows Explorer, on HD2, parameter - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HD2
ROM= 1.66.406.1
Radio= 2.06.51.07
€mail= [email protected]
On a PC with Windows Explorer it is possible:
to see ALL the files (even hiden files)
to see files suffixes (.doc, .exe, .xls, .pdf, etc).
My question:
How it is possible, on a HD2 to be able to make the same thing with Windows Explorer parameter or other.
Thank you in advance.
Erric

menu "show all files"
for the file extensions, i don't think you can. use a different file manager, total commander is good and free, or resco is great, but not free.

Replacing ROM DLLs in /Windows?

Hi all,
The Magician is using an updated SDBusDriver for which I was attempting to copy over to the Himalaya SE ROM.
To do that, I
(a) disable the DLL temporarily by editing the registry entry from
"SDBusDriver.dll" to "SDBusDriver.dll.bak",
(b) reboot the device,
(c) and copy the extracted SDBusDriver.dll from Magician ROM to /Windows folder.
(d) Change the registry entry from "SDBusDriver.dll.bak" to "SDBusDriver.dll"
(e) reboot the device again.
Alas, but XDA2 did not initialise the SDBusDriver and the Storage Card folder disappears!
Perhaps I did it wrongly. Does anyone knows the right steps to perform?
Many thanks in advance!!!!
Anyway, I noticed that the SDBusDriver.dll/SDMemory.dll in JAM/Mini is newer than the ones in XDA2s and Himalaya WM2003SE. Its SDIO 1.2.00 as compared to SDIO 1.1.00.
It just seems that it is not possible to use the JAM/Mini drivers directly in Himalaya WM2003SE as the file system manager cannot initialise it properly to show the "Storage Card" folder when you insert the SD memory card.
Any ideas, anyone?

Install problem for PocketZenPhone on a Qtek S100

As several similar zip Files are in the download (see screen shot), I maybe copied the wrong ones? A message on the pocket says: "PZPhone Try' ist keine gültige Anwendung für Pocket PC = PZP isn't a valuable program for Pocket PC)... By the way: no Phone logo within the programs folder (except a blue quadrangle which produces the discussed message).
As the posts here are rather old, is this software (I bought today) still "in use"...?!
You must look at the path that the files extract to, one of them will be for WM 5.0 and the other for WM 2003, with the magician you will require the files in the 2003 folder, if you just extract the whole archive you'll see the arrangement of the files and all should become clear.
Thanks argon that's exactly that
Unzip the file on your PC then copy the .cab on your pocket and click on each

Installing and using PHMRegEdit

Is there a good Samaritan out there who can explain to me exactly how the program is installed and how does one go about editing the Registry of the TyTN. I have bought Nokia HS-12W BT stereo phones and have added in Sleuth's anti-skip modification. All works well except that I do not get stereo. I must modify the Registry according to Sleuth's working model, and need to do the Registry mods.
Please help!
I am sure there are other newbie's who are also keen to learn new tricks.
Which problem are you exactly having? Just install the cab file, run the program and browse the registry to the place you want to modify, add or delete a key. Tap on the key or screen to do this.
You have to copy the cab file to your Hermes first. When I install cabs, I either send them to myself as email attachments or I use activesync explorer mode. Alternatively, if you can find the site using Pocket Internet Explorer (PIE) then you can download the cab directly. Once the cab is on your Hermes, then tap to install.
There is an alternative way to install apps on WM and that's with a windows based installer. If the file isn't a cab, then you'll need to connect up your hermes with its USB cable, wait for activesync to connect then run the installer on your PC. The installer itself will send the cab file over for immediate installation.
If you're familiar with the Windows registry you'll have no problems understanding the WM registry. When you change a value, make sure you power off with the power button to reset & make the change active, otherwise your registry setting might not "stick". Some registry values take effect immediately but I always power cycle after making a change just to be sure.
Installing PHMRegEdit
Hi
Could you please attache the CAB file.
I have load the file and the file is PHMRegEdit.msi
Thanks
I was wondering "which" .cab to copy over for the AT&T Tilt 8925. I did try the Stngr_ARM and it did install. However, I can not expand the registery top folders or export the registery.
Thank you in advance
OK, figured it out.
regedit.Mrln_ARM
did the trick

How does a novice associate the file types for Adobe LE 2?

I am still new to the forum, but love the work of Erofich and Gnat especially....my StarTrek is like new!! However, I have tried more than one cab and version for the Adobe LE, but no matter with one (currently the 2885XX version) PDF attachments and files will not open in Adobe LE. I have to open Adobe LE first and then browse to the file, which I had to save to Main Memory or Storage Card, in order to open and view the file. I presume there is some registry entry not made. I am not into hacking my registry, so is there a CAB which will associate the files?
Cingular 3125
WM 6.1
you can use total commander and change the file association
Thank you for responding so quickly. However, what is Total Commander? Where is it? And if it is a program to be installed on the client, not sure that is possible.....the Smartphone is mine and I receive a stipend for it from the company, but the desktop is the company's. That is why CAB's are preferred.

[Q] ROM Compatibility with Sales App

Hi I have a Mobile Sales app running on an HTC HD2.
We have been running this app successfully on Telstra Australia sourced 512MB ROM devices running Windows Mobile 6.5 WWE_3.14.405.2 ROM.
We have just sourced a number of 1024 MB TMOBUS devices running 3.14.531.1 WWE ROM.
My problem is that the app will not run from the program shortcut unless the File Explorer program is running in the background with the apps install directory open – then it runs fine.
The app creates some temp database files when it runs – so its seem to be issues with write permissions in the apps install directory that having the File Explorer program open seems to overcome
.
Can I set the windows equivalent of a shortcut ‘start in’ directory on a Windows Mob device ?
Is there a registry setting to allow full write access ?
I have run ‘UnlockSecurity.exe’ to allow unsigned apps but makes no difference
Any advice greatly appreciated
John
