Well I have had to go back to the standard email as K9 just keeps force closing when I start it. So I want to write an email to the developer but every time I try to write an email in the standard email it just crashes to the home screen. It doesn't even save the email as a draft!!!!
So how can I stop it crashing while trying to write an email?
uninstall .apk
reinstall.apk
should work
fixes the corrupt files

Is there a way or setting to also delete an email from the server, when deleting it on the device. I do not want to remove all emails from the server when downloading, just the option to delete it before I get multiple email on my PC.
I have a POP mail account that whenever you delete your messages they are not staying deleted they come right back as new email. I have even deleted them from the trash folder and as soon as you hit delete they come back as new messages. This just started yesterday. I even deleted the mail account from Thunderbolt completely and them rentered it again as a new email account and I have the same issue. Any help is much appreciated.
Hi
I'm on GT-I9100_WanamLite.XWLP8.V11.1.NO-WIPE ROM.
I setup the accounts in the email app and can receive emails with no problem.
However, everytime I open a new email the app crashes. When I restart the app and go back to the same email (which is now marked as read), it opens with no problems.
This happens with every new email.
Do you think it's an issue with the ROM or the Email app itself?

clear data in email app and reboot and set ur email account again.
Hi
I've just tried that, cleared the data, rebooted the phone and recreatd the account.
Howver, the problems still persists.
When I open a new email , Email hangs and then get the "Unfortunately Email has stopped."
When I ok that and restart Email, the email is marked as read and can then open it.
Strange!
Any other ideas?
Is anyone else having this problem?
Using the samsung email app .In the email settings for the account I have set the "Recent Messages" to 25 (the same thing happens if I set it to any other number except "total").* When I receive a new email & delete it, the 26th email moves back up to 25th & the mail app brings it in as a new unread email again. My htc desire allowed me to set it by number of days old, but I don't see this as an option on the S3.**I really don't want to set it to "Total" & have every email that I've ever received but haven't deleted show up on my*phone.
It's driving me nuts.
Thanks
It's happening on my mate's s3 too. Anyone else?
Is it deleted on your email account as well? I had this issue when I got my S3, too.
There's an option within the mail app, where you can toggle to delete those mails from your email account, when you delete them inside the app.
The default setting on my S3 was, that it's only deleted inside the app, but not from my mail.
I hope this helps.
Settings>App manager>email app>clear cache
Or go to recovery and wipe cache/fix permissions

S4 Old Emails Return, Sync
Hello,
I have seen that many, many folks are having problems with this. Posts all over the place on android central and many other places.
I have had this problem intermittently over time and have tried different things.
In the past, I just deleted the old emails and typically no more problem for some time.
Recently the problem returned.
Deleting the old emails did not get rid of them. Essentially, you see emails pop up as new at the bottom of your S4 android email box. They are old emails.
I tried the following.
Deleting old emails, older emails just show up as new, unread.
Deleting the actual emails in your box is not good if you want to keep them. If you use this method you'd have to delete them all. I don't want this.
Delete all emails from your pop3 email and set your android mail to delete from server. I don't want this. I want to keep them on the server. I should be able to.
Set the android email to 25, didn't help. Set the android email to total and then delete or move them to trash, didn't help.
Delete and reconfigure the email box. Didn't work.
I am currently trying a fix for my comcast email I have always used pop3 style setup on the stock android email setup. Today I deleted my email box and reconfigured it as IMAP and set the security as SSL. It seems to work, but I will repost if it doesn't . Setting to TSL, the mail wouldn't load. Setting to no security with IMAP, wouldn't load an email. SSL seems to be the only way.
Good luck!
I read and delete messages in the gmail android app but when I log into gmail on a pc, none of those messages are deleted, or even marked as "read"!! They're just sitting in my inbox as if they're brand new messages. I hate it!!
What is the correct combination of settings in gmail to make messages deleted in the gmail app, actually be deleted?? Nothing is set to auto, everything is manual. So I refresh my inbox on the app, I see my new messages. I delete them in the app. Then I refresh the app. Logically, this should delete the messages permanently. But when I log on at a computer, all the messages are still there! Please, Please, Please. Thank you;.

I purchased Enhanced Email many years ago and that is my solution. Minimal setup, I delete a message in that app, and the email is gone forever.
Why is the gmail app so, so horrible??
