Brother, I tried companion link initially then I proceed to get it purchased after a few days of using.
With companion link, you can enter all your contacts or calendars in your Outlook on our PC then it will automatic sync with your Google Account and the time to sync is depend on your setting whether you want it to sync everytime you boot up the PC or based on hourly basis.
Try it to see whether you like it.

thanks will give them try

Outsync - you run it on your PC, and it syncs your facebook contacts with your outlook contacts

Google has allready awaken in this agenda
It is at android-sync.com
I have made a try - so far it synces contacts only with minor bugs (does not sync contact pics...), but is promising to sync all neccessary Outlook agenda. Seems to be a solution for better Android dissemination...

I too am using companion link.
Been using it since I first got my X10a and very happy with it. I did have some problems with duplicate entries after upgrading to 2.1, but once I sorted it all out, it is working great.

Desperate help needed please

Bought a HTC HD2 yesterday and got the ms exchange set up info (servername, domain, etc) from our IT department to sync work e-mails, calendar and contacts over my 3G telstra SIM that I have used for the past 2 years with no problems.
I have stayed up to 6 AM trying to get it to sync to no avail!!!! active sync keeps trying to sync and goes into loops with no positive results...
The thing is once I connect to my home internet via wi-fi my emails start to sync without sweat!!!!
It seems that for some reason my 3G is not doing the job, or is there something I need to enable in the setting!!
I am flying to Singapore early Sunday and desperately need to get this sorted...Your help would be very appreciated if you could please guide me
Thanks
Hanney
Well, personally, I would prefer to use outlook to sync my stuff... I find it's a more pleasurable experience... Maybe you can try setting up outlook to get all your mails from your email, and from there sync?? My contacts are sync-ed through outlook too.. Anyway, I'm pretty new here, so just my 2 cents.. =) Hope this helps man...

Thanks for trying to help mate, but my problem is different.
I am trying to sync (on air) not connected to PC via 3G or GBPRS connecting to MS Exchange - This is a very normal work email set up protocol that for some rason won't work on HTC HD2.

I sync OTA with and exchange server, without issues, had to put in no special settings, have you tried removing and re-creating the setup ..
Also , try just selecting contacts to sync, see if it will sync anything ....

[Q] How do I sync with Outlook?

It was easy on my HTC Desire. Just install HTC sync and Bobs your uncle. However I've installed the Moto drivers and Media link. It's even updated itself a couple of times but I can see no place to select the syncing of my Outlook calendar?

Download MyPhoneExplorer for the Android Market its free and works like a charm. You'll also need the PC version, but of all the ones I have tried this one is the best.
For paid ones, gSyncit is the best for $20.

Thanks Guys.
MyPhoneExplorer did the trick for me. Bloody bizzare not having a standard sync on the phone for Outlook though. Even Samsung has that (It didn't work but at least they pretended to want to support Outlook !)
Thanks Again.
Change my mind. Myphoneexplorer now deletes appointments if I create a new one on outlook. Then it copied all my google appointments to my outlook calendar. I wanted them separate otherwise I would have just used google and saved myself the hassle. Then when I delete the appointment in outlook myphone explorer goes and deletes the google appointment on my phone! Luckily I tried deleting just the one appointment. Now uninstalled myphoneexplorer it's to dangerous. Any body got any other suggestions?

[Q] First thing you do when receiving your Lumia

Hi.
On tuesday I'm receiving my first Window Phone, the Lumia 800. What is the first thing I should do with it after receiving the device.
I'm coming from android and the the first step with them devices where rooting it.
Are there something similar I should start with on tuesday with the Lumia?
Thanks in advance
Pemell
1) Run diag tool (##634# in dialer), check screen and full battery charge (must be > 1000mAh), audio. Try other tests.
2) There are no "root" for this moment, so you don't need this step.
3) Create and link your lumia to live.com account.
4) Update via Zune if there is some update.
5) Fall in love with wp7 and lumia design.
Before it even arrives, you should decide which web service you'd like to use to store your contacts (google or Live). Clean up the contacts on that account so that they'll already look good when they sync to your Lumia. If you use Outlook, then install the Microsoft Outlook Hotmail connector and it will sync your calendar/contacts from outlook to Live (again, make sure to have cleaned out Live first so that you don't get blending that you don't want).
Have fun with your Lumia. It's so nice to just hold on to.
Thanks! Really great answers.
I use google for storing contacts and calendar posts so I will clean this up before I get it, great tip. I know many of them need some updates.
As regard of the diagnosis, I read somewhere about a battery problem. Chipsaru: Is this a fact if I can't charge it with more then 1000mAh? I'll check it when it arrives.
Thanks again folks,
Pemell
With normal lumia you'll be able to charge it more than ~1200mAh.
But there are some faulty devices which has some problems with battery controller and it responds to diagnostic app value of full charge capacity less than 1000 mAh. It's known defect and nokia replaces this devices.

Does all of the Google Contacts fields synchronize properly with Windows Phone 7.5?
How about Windows Live Hotmail Contacts? I would presume that everything in the fields will synchronize properly due to the fact that it's a Microsoft controlled product.
I don't use too many fields. Just name, number, email, and address. Those seem to sync just fine.
I can't give specifics, as I started with Google and thought it was doing a good job... until I tried to migrate my calendar to Live using outlook. Had to change data files, but my contacts wouldn't just move right over. So, I figured since I have GOcontactSync that I could delete from outlook and resync. Yeah, big mistake. Google was syncing as planned and I lost a lot of data.
NOW? I use Outlook with the hotmail connector software and everything syncs seamlessly between phone, cloud, and pc.
There are some limitations in syncing with gmail. In google contacts you can set more than one mobile number for one person (phone number with badge "mobile"), but wp7 would not synchronize additional mobile numbers, only the first one. And there wouldn't be any error messages.
So be careful with gmail and check contacts with not usual fields.
What if have mobile, home, work?
Will all be synced?
Do I need to create new account or I can use existing hotmail?

m/h/w will all be synced. "other" will not be synced until you correct the category. This is what happens w/ google, I think.
Yes, you can use your existing hotmail account.
Thanks

[Q] Local phone android contacts with ICS?

Hi everyone,
I'm using CM9, but I tried different ICS roms and I encounter this problem with all of them.
- I'm trying to add a local phone (non gmail) contact to my phone, but it doesn't let me do that. When I add a new contact, a message box pops up saying, that: "Your new contact will be synchronized with <my gmail account>". How to add a local phone (not a SIM card) number?
- I have a backup of all my local phone numbers from GB made with MyPhoneExplorer, and restoring it works when I'm on ICS. The contacts are shown as local phone contacts (PCSC). However, after restarting the phone and waiting a few minutes, all the local contacts are completely gone. MyPhoneExplorer confirms that there are no contacts in the phone either. What's going on?
I really do not want to sync my contacts with google. Looking forward to hearing some answers!
Cheers!
I use CM9-alpha4 (i9001) and it works for me.
I did completely turn of "accounts and sync" and I also didn't flash gapps.
When I first created a new contact I was notified that it will be local and not synced. No problem there.
I'm using the CM9 9-20120614 version (the newest beta). I have Accounts and Sync on, since I want some stuff synced with my phone (facebook, linkedin, gmail calendar, etc.). And I experience the beforementioned problems...
I fiddled with the options but found nothing that would allow me to store my contacts locally and prevent the existing ones from being deleted
There is an issue in the Bugtracker:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=26834
You could also use some other account that doesn't sync with Google. Funambol[0] would be my choice.
[0] http://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=com.funambol.androidsync
Thanks for that link.
However, I'm not sure, how is that cloud solution about to help storing my contacts locally without sharing it with any 3rd party?
You have to assiciate your contacts with some account. The funambol client creates such a "account provider" for you. But I just tried it and it seems like the client always wants you to sync with some server. You could set up your own server but that might not be what you want.
Sorry I can't really help. There is another thread about this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27747450
Alright, thanks a lot for your replies! Sigh, I guess I will just stick with google contacts for now -_-
here's my fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1808037

Thanks! I will test it soon, although I have already moved my contacts to Google's cloud. Also, will this fix prevent me from synching google contacts? If so, it's more of a workaround than fix.
It breaks contact syncing deliberately. If you want to keep that while enabling local storage of contacts you need to edit the contacts.apk . I initially decompiled it and identified the line of code that enables or disables the local option.

Xperia X series sync with Outlook

G'day from down under,
I have just upgraded from a Xperia Z1 which had PC Companion (full outlook sync functionality) but the Xperia X Performance only has Xperia Companion which only backs up. I have found 1 app (akrutosync) online that proposes to do a full sync (contacts / calendar / etc) but they charge $34.95 a year. MobileGo is only an import / export app, not a sync app so it's useless.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Exchange ActiveSync is supported on this phone. If you use Outlook.com, just open the stock email app and add your account - voila. Only thing I can't get working right are Tasks & Notes, but there's a great app from the Play Store (Tasks & Notes for MS Exchange) that does the trick.

I've used that software for syncing Outlook calendar with my Xperia smartphone before switching to iPhone 7. It works like a charm, the only bad thing was that you can't switch between syncing via Wi-Fi and over the Internet on the go. Just checked their website and these $35 is still a one-time payment. However, syncing through Outlook.com should be a good alternative if you're not okay with paying for 3-rd party software.

I have the outlook client on my PC. I am NOT using exchange (corporate server).
Hey everyone,
I found an app as suggested by a few on Sony Mobiles official forums where everyone was tearing Sony to shreds for ditching PC Companion's sync functionality & someone suggested MyPhoneExplorer. It's really damn good. It actually corrected some issues that PC Companion had created (anyone without a birthday automatically scored 1/1/1970 as their birthday upon the first ever sync when I got my Z1) and it has some quirks which I have overcome. All in all a great app.

I realise the outlook app acts like that but only with your outlook.com account (hotmail etc). If it is able to do it with contacts & calendar of a pc running Office 16 (and office 13 as that operates the same way & will help many other users) then please advise how as thats all i'm chasing.

It doesn't matter whether you have Office 365 or not... If you are using Outlook.com to send/receive email, the settings I provided will work.
Or change the server to m.outlook.com - it all works the same.

For the billionth time i'm using Outlook 2016 on PC. It's a software application not a web client. It has absolutely nothing to do with outlook.com which is what microsoft replaced hotmail.com with in early 2013.

Hi,
I use Outlook 2016 too and also noticed that PC Companion from Sony does not sync your calendar, contact, notes, etc. It only backs it up. So I have made a long search how to sync my contacts, etc with Microsoft Outlook 2016. Well, the answer is simple, use a third party app for that called MyPhoneExplorer. You can download it from the App store for free. You also have to install the MyPhoneExplorer client on your PC. It works flawlessly, either by Wifi, bluetooth or USB. BTW, do not use PC Companion also for backing up your device, cause it does not work. I have had a crash with my Sony and tried to restore it with one of my six backups, none of them worked and all gave, sooner or later an error message. Use instead "Backup your Mobile", also availalble in the store and for free. This does the job properly and you can choose to place the backup either in Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and Orange Cloud.
kindest regards, kuzibri
