I think the most important feature for touch software is allowing everything to be done by the finger.
So scrolling and stuff is very important.
This softeware basicly just only has cool transitions and enlarged interface to ease the toucing of stuff.
That contact list is useless with many many contacts.
Huh? This project is far from complete. The contacts and everything will work as Touch/iPhone do. So, if the author can incorporate all that without slowing everything down considerably, he may have a real winner. However, I'm sort of doubting our prophets could handle the load.

I've been trying to find a Bible app on the market that actually downloads the WHOLE Bible. to the nook and doesn't need any wifi to work. I had one that had to download the next verse etc. from a server. FAIL. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings my friend. I don't know if you are looking for something paid or free. I use Cadre Bible. The app itself is free and several versions are as well. If you want NIV or NAS, you will have to pay. It is overall a really great app (daily reading schedules, lots of study tools, etc..). No wifi access is needed to read. I did have some issues with the initial install of the paid versions, but they have a great tech support staff via email that helps get things going. God bless you as you continue to pursue Him through His word.
I can suggest two: Both are excellent
AndBible
YouBible
Both have several versions of Downloadable Bibles. AndBible has commentary, and Strongs and some other extras like devotionals.
Forgot to mention that both are Free - the Bible versions are free in AndBible, YouBible has many free versions including NKJV.
Several available but most download daily verses etc.

Here's the pointer to YouVersion Bible (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android), which includes a bunch of downloadable Bibles.
OliveTree also has an Android version (http://www.olivetree.com/android/index.php). Their Bibles are occasionally on sale.
I use YouVersion. I tried OliveTree, it worked on the Nook, but I found YouVersion fulfilled my requirements just fine.
+1 for YouVersion Bible app. FREE dwnloads of NASB and ESV, plus others! Also excellent interface.

Another vote for the YouVersion Bible. It's great. And it is constantly getting updates that make it better and better.
Ok I'm trying Cadre bible and the YouVersion for now. The YouVersion is the one I tried before that had to download every verse all the time but I tried it again and downloaded the ASV and NKJV and it seems to be working. Thanks everyone.

I use YouVersion daily, but I also like Bible.Is. It is an audio bible so you can listen to it on your headphones while you run or work (I have it on my phone too). It also has different voices for the different people speaking so it doesnt get boring listening to the stories being read.
I like the ESV Bible from Marketplace. It doesn't require a connection. I actually have started carrying the Nook to church instead of a hardcopy bible.
I use the YouVersion as well. Few months back they had NIV available for download for a short while. I sync that file to my phone as well to keep up on my "Bible in one year" goal. The reading plans are nice as is the live notes if your church is listed in it.

Bible
Give Cadrebible a real chance, it really shows its strength when you learn to use the bookmarks and notes tools along with custom coloring of the text attributes. It's my number one pick...
Another vote for YouVersion. I usually just do the Bible in a year plan, although I am a few months ahead since I've had a lot of time at home lately.
I missed the NIV download, havent yet downloaded any of the availabl ones yet, but will soon if I remember.
I use Gospel Library!
YouVersion is great...I haven't seen a need for anything else. I've been using my Hero and now Evo for probably a year now instead of a physical Bible at church.

I do the same thing. My pastor was in small group with us last week and he had to ask "does anyone have their bible? Mine ran out of batteries." lol
Youversion and Nook
Please allow me to ask a dumb question here.
Is anyone using the youversion Bible on their Nook? I don't see Nook as a supported platform on the youversion website. I see other Android devices mentioned in this thread and it is not obvious to me what apps are being used on what devices. I really like the youversion Bible and use it on my iPod and Droid but I would like a bigger screen.
Thanks
Ya! Im using it and it works great! nothing looks pixelated or anything, ita all crisp and clear. The downloadable versions also work. I havent found any problems with it so far
It wouldn't be as full featured as the apps but for the sake of more options you could get it from the nook shop. There are free and paid versions in the BN ebook store.
Youversion has been great for me...I haven't really tried anything else...I did get to download the NIV when they had it. Although there are 2 NIV's available for download...
I might give Cadre a try...thanks for the tip.
Youversion comes in handy when you want to search something on the fly for bible study...
Edit:
It works BUT it is very limited. I hope the dev keeps working on it. It is a GREAT idea.
Anyone tried it?
Going to try it out. Will give some feedback later.
"Ingenious Android App Allows Web Browsing Over SMS"

Seems to open the 1st page only but if you go into facebook or something you can't sign in cause you can't go to the next page.
Good idea. Needs work for sure.
This app definitely needs some love
I remember when I used to be able to web over SMS with my sidekick lx.
What an awesome idea. I can imagine the speeds would be very slow, though.
Great Idea
Might not be practical for daily use.
I've noticed a constant fc problem with google's most recent app updates and wanted to give a bit of help for those who would like to stick to ICS, but couldn't really find a place to get older versions of the apps that are acting up. Feel free to post any other Youtube/Google Music workarounds/apk's you may be using on ICS (as they may be more up-to-date or have some other added benefit); as well as any others that may occur.
These might be old, but it has been CONFIRMED that they still work with ICS,
Google Play Music 4.1.513
Youtube (forgot which version it is though; care to help me remember?)
NEW apks-
Modified Google Play Music, Movies and YouTube apks (Be sure to read around a little)
I wanted to refrain from posting this, as I was hoping google would fix these things soon, but by the looks of it everything that was messed up is still screwed...
Also, I'd like to thank existz for all the time and effort he puts into fixing things for his users; which in turn allows me to bring some useful info here to our device section.
[EDIT: This is probably deprecated. PM me if you feel this needs re-opening]
I've been having the same issue. Thanks for posting these up. Hopefully this gets pinned somewhere for future reference. Shame they stopped working.
Thanks for this. I was hoping too that G would get it fixed but it's nice to have links to known stable apps.
Tapatalking from my v.2.5 Resurrected Dark Unicorn Glacier
OP updated with a link to newer apks (idk what version they are, as I have yet to try them, but these are versions that used to FC and are now modded/fixed for ICS). Big thanks to existz for having such helpful and well-maintained source, which allowed me to find this. Let me know how it goes for you guys
Cheers!

Not sure if anyone has played around with this? I searched and did not finad anything...I admit I am not greatest at using search...Over at the Ascend Mate 7 forum. There is a buildprop tweak for thier stock music app. It allows you to use the app for online live music. I read about it and tryed it out on our phone. Interesting enough. It works! There is some chinese of course as that is the music you will see under live. But. if you go to search. You can find just about anything in english. Ive only been using it for a hour or so. No problems though. I also like the looks of this app much better. Again, I only found it at thier forum. Credits to them. Here is link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/root-mods-t3030947
Just follow directions and give it a try.
