[Q] How to remove cookies home tab 1.8.5? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
I have tried to remove it from the REMOVE PROGRAMS option but it says:
Cookies home tab was not completely removed. do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs?
Please can anyone help me in this issue so that i can restore it to the originals.
The MENU button on the HOME at the bottom right is also NOT ACTIVE!! pls help me in this regard...
some one suggested before to CLOSE THE HTC SENSE and then uninstall... can anyone help me in this regards...

Have you tried to reinstall Co0kies Home Tab yet?
Yes i have reintalled it so many times but its still not working well and i also tried to disable HTC SENSE and then uninstall it but the problem is still there... pls help..
Go to your settings tab and select Menu>All Settings
Then tap "Today" and select the Items tab.
Uncheck HTC Sense and tap "OK"
Then go to the Start menu and tap "Settings", then "System", then "Remove Programs" and remove Co0kie's Home Tab and CHTEditor if that is installed as well. If you get an error trying to uninstall them, first try to reinstall the program and, if successful, then uninstall it.
After you have successfully uninstalled the programs go back to the Start menu and tap "Settings", then "Today" and select the Items tab. Reselect HTC Sense and tap "OK".
That should work.
why uninstall it?
you can make CHT look like standard sense..
for me, removing of CHT never worked perfectly..i had always to hard reset.

I'm having the same problem here with v1.8.5 and Windows Mobile 6.1.
I installed CHT and the Editor and when I tried to run the editor I received an error informing me that CHT version doesn't match the editor's even though both of them are v 1.8.5. I tried uninstalling CHT without any luck. Uninstaller hangs. I managed to uninstall the editor and tried again to uninstall CHT but no luck. I disabled TouchFlo and tried again, same thing. I also installed MemMaid and checked all dependencies to remove any startup or running process/service but this also didn't work. I also tried to install over again and it hangs since it first tries to uninstall the older version. I checked the registry but most of them are directly related to Manila so I kinda gave up since I am trying to avoid a Hard Reset. Any other ideas about this?

Disable sense and reinstall CHT. (reinstall will remove previous version)
Done that but it hangs. I left the phone untouched more than an hour but nothing happens.
After Uninstall cht lock screen lockscreen.can seem to be vanish how can I fix it?
I'm having the same problem. Did you succeed uninstaling it?

Please don't make false claims about others work. If CHT is really a virus then I think someone would have posted that 2yrs ago. It's been around way to long and I doubt the legit version is infected. Sorry you are having trouble.

I think you will have to do a hard reset to clean your device.

How do I uninstall SPB GPRS Monitor?

do a hard reset The only way to fully uninstall GPRS monitor file is to do a hard reset.
aao588 , I don't think hard-reset will help, seems like he has 'cooked' the GPRS monitor into the rom. After hard-reset the program will be still in the rom, unless he flash it with another rom. e1design, I don't use this software, not sure about it, you can try look into the \Winodws\Start up folder, delete the .lnk or exe file that start this program.

active sync 4.5 - rapimgr at 50 % CPU
hi, I have a little problem with active sync 4.5. before I used 4.2, coz I did not have installed vanilla before. But now I must use 4.5. When I connect device, synchronization work fine, but rapimgr.exe have 50 percent of CPU (i have HT Prescot). if I disconnect device, then is no way to connect it again, only restart PC, because process cannot be stopped any way (taskkill /pid xxx /f /t doesnt work). before I reinstall my windows (it is really necessary nevertheless) is there anybody who now what is the root cause of this problem? in work we still have w2k - no problem. I think reinstallation can solve this prob, but what is the root cause?...
I don't have this problem on any of my PC:s, did you uninstall previous version, reboot and installed 4.5? Try uninstaling now, reboot and reinstall 4.5.
of course, did not help. And I also removed all information from registry, and delete all files in program files dir. If I have installed 4.2 no problemo. only with 4.5 (build 5096). no matter if firewall installed or not, mayby interference with some installed programs. nevermind, i am only curious what cause this. I'm having the same problem with rapimgr but my syncing doesn't even occur and can't seem to run "contacts" on my hermes with the XDA Live 0.1 ROM PC is XP Home SP2 never had a problem with Active Sync 4.2 until I installed 4.5 on top of it I think then i tried uninstalling 4.5 and reinstalling it but doesn't seem to help any anyone have any suggestions?
If you using older ROMs (not XDA nor vanilla - WM6) solution is to use only older version 4.2. description from MS said, that 4.5 is much much faster when transferring files and data bla bla, but for me I did not find any difference between 4.2-4.5. Perhaps I can look to MS KB base, or their forums for answers.
solved...? the problem seems to be solved. it was Sunbelt Kerio Firewall. After uninstall everything work correctly. now I downloading the last version from here and I sent report if problem occur again.
Well, I solved my problems by doing a Hard Reset and then syncing with my pc and it worked wm6 is definitely better/ faster than wm5

After reading your post I unistalled Sunbelt Kerio firewall and everything worked fine. Now I installed the latest version of firewall again and the problem is back. Did you do anything else?? I think you can try one more thing, but then you lose all settings from previous version of kerio. Go to %root%\Program Files and delete (or backup) Sunbelt Software directory. In there is settings for kerio firewall, if you delete those files, you must set all security again, but perhaps this help. then reinstall kerio. now I am going to install other firewall, before I definitelly reinstall my OS. Hi As soon as I insalled SPB Pocket plus, my remove program list is empty. Everything is working fine. But I can't remove any installed programs. I have backups so it's not a problem. I just want to see if I can have SPB Plus installed and not have this issue. Thanks,
I had it installed and did not have this issue. Although it did HOG a lot of RAM up so I don't use it anymore. Try doing a soft reset and see if the programs are displayed in the remove programs list. If not, you may just have to restore from a backup and try to reinstall pocket plus.
I had the same thing happen - I soft reset and the programs came back. However, I had other issues (inability to open and use Messaging for one) so I ditched the new 10/24/07 ROM and went back to the older one. No more problems.
This happened to me when I installed pointui. To remove programs, I have to re-install software then uninstall software.
All programs crashing?
My new HTC S740, just hard resetted, can't run as many apps I used to use on my old Moto Q, like dotfred's task manager, or wm5torage (I know that the function is builtin, but for the record, that program doesn't run). These programs crash just when you run them.
Also, PIM Backup crashes the same way when trying to restore messages. Luckily, it estracts the contacts backup before crashing so I can restore contacts alone.
I suspect it has to do with app unlock. I can't edit the necessary registry keys with regedit stg or mobileregistryeditor because they error out ("access denied").
What can I try? SDA_ApplicationUnlock might work?
My phone is TIM-branded (italy) and has a 20282 build rom (1.15.901.0, R 0.29.30.22, P 12.29.30.09H)
EDIT: already tried this S740-specific unlocking howto but it doesn't work, cause Regedit still says access denied.

[Q] Swype not working... any suggestions?
I had some problems with my phone, and following a hard reset (and eventually getting back on track with CHT editor etc) I cannot now use Swype - it gives me the error message that "open of EnglishUS failed!" I have tried several times to uninstall and reinstall it, to no avail, and also downloaded several versions of it... anyone experienced this or similar? Cheers (HD2 in winmo 6.5, with CHT...)
