[Q] Wireless tether - Droid Eris Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is this supported on CELB froyo with the stock kernal? Or the CFS kernel? I'm on CfS
Sent from my ERIS using XDA App

Should work on either. If its not already in the rom then grab it from the market, but as long as your rooted it should work.

Two most common are "setcpu" and "overclock widget"
Sent from my pocket rocket!
You first need to make sure you have a kernel installed that will allow overclocking.

How do I check if I have kernel installed? Sorry im new to this and someone rooted the phone for me
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If all your phone is is rooted then you don't have an overclocked kernel. If your new id suggest staying away from the overclocking kernels. Its a known issue that not all vibrants can handle overclocking. If yours can't it will cause you problems.

Before you do anything to your phone. Go to the general section and read the guide tips stickier. It will save you a ton of headaches.

does the lastest version of Axura install voodoo automatically?
if so, does dat mean i can overclock?
Yes it does install it automatically. But that has nothing to do with overclocking. You have to have a kernel that's capable of that.

Eugene has a few to choose from.
http://eb-productions.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=samsungsgs&action=display&thread=28
be aware most oc kernel's destroy battery life. I am currently using ttabals dragon oc kernel. I have also tried the Dow kernel. I have experienced a few hard resets.
Setcpu doesnt seem to work correctly for me and it doesnt like setting profiles.
When overclocking anything take it slow and easy.
So which kernel should I get then?

That depends on what kind of ROM you are running. Are you completely stock? Are you on 2.1 or 2.2? You dont want to flash a 2.2 kernel over a 2.1 or 2.1 over a 2.2?

[Q] blinkertab - can someone port this for the vibrant?

is there any way we can get this kind of program going for the vibrant?

i already know about flash notify, but this would make great use of the light up capacitive touch buttons underneath the screen.
Flash a kernel with BLN support and search for BLN control in market
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
i flashed bionix v twiz w/ voodoo....does this have bln support? and if not, what good kernels are compatible with bionix v?
i don't really wanna flash a new rom until a stable GB one comes out
bionix doesn't include a bln kernel. keep an eye in the dead horse kernel thread in development. Eugene may have a final version in the next few days
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
I'm waiting for ttabbal's. Test version 1 is over in team whiskey forums and for testing purposes it's pretty solid. Voodoo ext4/sound/bln/oc/uv/color...ULF seems to cause problems for most.
Haha guys just use eugene new kernel, it has it and works perfectly

ran into some problems...i flashed both test34 kernel by eugene(supports bln) and the kb1 modem.....lost all my apps, and data wipe.....first, had a boot loop problem, fixed, then came up with no application storage space....just recently fixed it, i think the lagfix interfered with something......but its working now.
and i use bnl control....i actually think that blinky was the problem.

I haven't seen one yet, except if you flash 2.1 Apps2SD then you can turn C2C on from there. I used to do that under Froyo before zach's flashable script.

Wouldn't happen to have a link to that, it's probably in roll up if not and can I use the c2c feature without partitioning

Second, no you don't have to use any of the other Apps2SD features that you don't want to including you don't have to partition.
First, here's where you can find the Apps2SD flashable file:

[Q] what is the difference in Vibrant and Vibrant MTD?

I'm rooting a friends phone for him and i was just about to flash CWM from ROM Manager but i don't know if i should flash Vibrant or Vibrant (MTD). what's the difference?
Vibrant (MTD) is for Cyanogen Mod 7
unless if you're planning on flashing CM7 RIGHT after that, then do the regular vibrant option.

If you're doing this for a friend's phone (because of this, I'm assuming he doesn't know much about android, advanced android stuff, and android debugging), then stay on stable Samsung roms as he will be able to handle them with basic phone knowledge.

Honestly im running the latest nightly of cm7, applied the gps fix, and am running the glitch kernel....
Everything is flawless. Gps locks fast, no force closes on anything. Stable and smooth. No more in call audio problems.... its come a LONG way. Gingerbread really is pretty much stable at this point if youve tried it.
You can always try the latest nightly and if you dont like it flash back to something else without a problem.

Ok here are the links. First download cm7. The latest nightly is 62, here is the link:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/cm_vibrantmtd_full-62.zip
Here is a link to the glitch kernel. There are three different kinds here is the one which is usually the best and most stable:
http://androtransfer.com/tk-glitch/...rant/VoodooColor/CM7Vibrant-Glitch-V11-HL.zip
Here is a link to the gps fix. There are a few steps, but if you take your time you should have no problem.

If you want a REALLY stable rom with not a lot of bells and whistles apart from the standard tweaks, Zendroid 2.0.1 with Bali is an excellent choice for a beginner (its what I started off with) and has excellent battery life, especially with it's generally dark colored theme.
Im sorry but no offense. At this point, roms for the vibrant aren't very originally.
I've found that all the gingerbread roms are based purely off CM7 at this point, even burgertimes roms are based from CM7 source.....
CM7 really is the way to go at this point. It's more than stable enough as a daily driver, and if you know what you're doing it's even better.
Can't go wrong with CM7 these days.... Anyone who tells you otherwise i'm just going to have to believe is a fool...
Hey why not go with Bionix, it's only 10 years outdated now.
