I recently flashed the Captivate camera on my vibrant and at first the gallery sorted the pictures from newest to oldest but now it has gone back to the vibrant original, oldest to newest. I flashed back to stock and then to Captivate again but no luck. Any suggestions?
Same here, I havent figured this one out yet either.
Sure you are not looking at the old folders from the vibrant camera?
Using Captivate camera, the new Camera folder sorts oldest to newest. Not sure what is different with mine versus other people who had it change.

Well yesterday I called t-mobile about my internet issues, telling them I have a hard time connecting to anything, the android market doesn't work or download so customer service told me they're sending.me a new vibrant and said it comes with froyo (yes I know the update is today) and said the gps and data issues are fixed on this vibrant. So I was wondering how recent vibrants are built because the new ones are hardware locked aren't they? Help?
I just got my Vibrant a few weeks ago, the first thing I did was check if it was HWL. Boots up fine into recovery mode. I haven't gotten a chance to test download mode. Gps works fine on mine too.
Good luck with yours.
Ps: I'm still running stock JI6, I don't know if KA6 will change things.

Just got mine 3 days ago. GPS worked so well.
I updated to Froyo and was disappointed. I went to Nero. Loving it now.
Hey,
I've tried almost all 2.2.1 ROMs now, frost, darky, atriarc, loki yet on none of these ROMs could I get the aGPS to work. It works flawlessly on 2.2 ROMs otherwise... What could be wrong?
I've tried faster fix, gingerbread.zip and sgps.zip from the forums, etc. already..

then go back to 2.2... i don't see much change between 2.2 and 2.2.1 since we had voodoo on 2.2
but w/e
My gps was perfect when I was on Frost, after flashing sgps. Have you tried the hardware fix?

I have Simply Honey 2.5 with GPS fix plus there is another forum here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878970
This one has made my GPS best its ever been and probably best it will ever be considering it is Samsung..
Well, I did that immediately when I noticed that the 2.2.1 ROM isn't locking on... I had just replaced back the FFC mod camera and then I was planning to run 2.2.1 so that I can benefit from its camera firmware. So I thought maybe I screwed up the contact.
But that didn't happen. Once i flashed 2.2 back, i got a GPS lock in 15-17 seconds on every cold start.
Installed the sGPS.zip and Gingerbread.zip too, alternatively, and together, also done an ODIN and then fresh install, but none of it helps... Tried fasterfix too for India...
Anyone else facing this problem ???
So I installed it last night and it works great for the most part. The main issues I'm experiencing are the back and search hardware buttons do not work (home is back) nor do they light up, no incoming or out going sound on voice calls, and short battery life. After work I typically have about 70% battery left, today the phone died as I left. And I didn't check to see if the GPS, BT, and Cameras work. i heard video recording doesn't work on the international SGS2 with 4.0.3
anyone else tried it yet?
Here is a link to the Galaxys2root.com video where I found the link to the file.
What rom?
What ROM did you install? I looked at the ones listed under the AT&T GS2, and the only one close to ICS was the ICScreweD rom, which is not ICS.
Well, here's hoping that we get some ICS love soon...

You installed an international rom on your ATT phone. Hopefully you're able to flash it back to normal and a boot loader didn't come with it. Good luck.
PS
Red5 is probably 3 seconds away from locking this lol

A link to the rom is in the description of the video.
this is for the i9100 int'l SGS2 btw, NOT FOR AT&T I777

He installed one of the leaked samsung roms. It is for the international version and so it will have the softkey and call problems like he described.
It is obviously not something you would use as a daily driver, but it is fun to see what is on the way sometimes.
Thanks for not saying what ROM it was or thats its an international version so that other people that dont/cant read will flash and then we have 65146510484 threads started because their phone dosent work.
So to answer the OP question: No, because this rom isnt made for our phone... which is why about 40% your phone didnt work.
Thread closed.
Alright, so first off I've had a few phones which I have rooted and modded to the extreme. Got a great deal on a e3d and came over.
Saw that i had hboot 1.50 and *tear*, however I followed the directions to a T and unlocked the phone, installed recovery, and threw on some well known mods.
MeanROM
CleanROM
Virus ROM
etc etc
Anyway, in all of the ROMs the camera is distorted, and when you try to use 3d it comes out greenish pixelated and crashes. When you take a 2d picture you can't see what you're pointing at, but when you click it takes a picture but well...see attachment.
Now here's what i have tried:
Re-wiped ROMs several times.
Installed Stock Kernals, and every kernel I could find.
Used the Flash app, used adb reboot-bootloader and then booted into recovery to flash roms, and most recently I re-locked the phone and used the RUU updater and Unrooted and installed stock back on phone.
STILL having same problem with camera.
So I'm asking anyone who'd like to help please, because if I can't get it working I'm taking it to sprint hopefully they'll replace it.
I would try running the RUU and see if that will get the camera going.
If it runs on stock then maybe your downloads got goofed up or somethin?
Also I think MeanROM is 2.17 base? (correct me if I'm wrong) but I think you need to update firmware on the phone for stability. The camera could be related. However I also think Virus' ROMs are 2.08, so that almost makes me think that this paragraph could be wrong.

Already tried unrooting and flashing RUU. Still nothing....
Edit: I tried a factory recovery and no dice.
I'm going to try re-rooting and sending the camera file to the phone. Maybe it got corrupted?
Still open to suggestions.
Nope....

Ok so camera is clearly hardware issue. I relocked and factory reset. Camera still didn't work, today I clicked camera to show a friend. I had a twenty and accidently rubbed it on the screen and magically a picture appeared but it was split. I took a picture and boom it works. I'm going to mod it again when I get home, and I'll document the results, need to find out what happened.

It's a software issue. I am going to attempt to flash the kernel again and see if I can get it to work, anyone want to give me some tips?
It looks like I am having precisely the same issue. My camera worked fine until today. I restored a Nand backup of my original stock yesterday, but the camera was working fine after that. It started acting up when my wife called me on Qik Video. Tried restarting the phone numerous times, no dice. Came on XDA to hunt for stock kernels, thinking maybe my kernel got borked in the restore process? I'm truly shocked at just how huge a pain in the rear this phone is in terms of modding. Seems I am constantly having problems with it.

Mine was actually a hardware issue, it was coincidental that the camera stopped working when I changed roms. Anyway, I have a refurbished phone on its way and hoping for hboot 1.4 I doubt it though.....
Hi All,
I've been playing with different roms over the past month or so, I'm currently using joker's CM9 Build. I've noticed that my camera comes up with a black screen on the back camera, the front facing one seems fine. I flashed back to a CM7 rom (Neutrino i think) and same thing. I flashed a new radio last week, the Australian one, to get better battery life, not sure if the camera was working before that or not. Would the radio do anything? I'm going to flash back to a bell radio now, but thought I would pick everyone's brain. I've dropped my phone alot in the last week (had a crazy week at work) and I'm wondering if one of those may have done it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
