Help wtih bricked Dell Streak (very first US Dell Streak) - Streak 5 Android Development

Hello,
I have an very first US Dell Streak. It don't have "Upgrade from sd .pkg", I turn it on with Vol UP + Vol Down but nothing happen. If I turn on it with the Camera key it will go to a menu with some Options. There is an option "Download from SD", but It doesn't recognize .pkg file which stored in my card (update.pkg or other name.pkg) so I can't flash the Rom.
I can go to Fastboot mode by turn on it with Vol Down button.
Please help me flash rom on this device.
Thank you.

If you can get to fastboot. The following should fix your Streak.
Download the stock recovery for your rom 2.1 or 1.6. They are posted all over the place. Should come in a img format. Then run the following fast boot command.
Fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery "stock recovery.img"
Fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
Then hold down what ever button combo gets you into the recovery mode. Attempt recovery from your update.pkg.
Good luck.

I believe it needs to be 'Update.pkg' with an uppercase U.

Thank you.
I will try these tonight.

Superboot fail

Tried the 2.1 superboot batch file with my 2.2 dell streak in an attempt to root it. Just stuck at the dell logo screen for 30 min. popped the battery out and entered fastboot mode.
Would like to root it and get DJ Steve's 1.9 on.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
flash Streakmod through fastboot then install 1.9.0.zip with it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840326
got the recovery to work OK.
entered fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery ./update-1.9.0.zip
...and there it hangs. Streak just shows FASTBOOT_MODE
ok, multiple steps you need to perform in order make this happen (assuming you have SD card reader on your PC). 1. If update-1.9.0.zip is not already on your SD card, remove SD card from your Streak, insert into PC card reader and copy update-1.9.0.zip file to root. If already on your SD card skip step 1. 2. take battery out, reinsert, power up holding power and both volume buttons down till 4 option Dell menu loads Select option two with volume buttons, once highlighted push camera button at that point should have Dell logo with small triangle with yellow exclamation point next to it if you loaded Streakmod correctly. Push power button blue Steakmod menu should load; look at pictures on Streakmod thread I provided before.
If Streakmod loaded correctly select wipe cache partition using volume buttons and push camera button, once done go to advanced using volume buttons to move camera button to select. Select wipe dalvik cache push camera button, once done go back using arrow key on Streak. Select apply sdcard:update.zip push camera button once on that menu, select choose zip from sdcard, push camera button. Once on that screen navigate to update-1.9.0.zip using volume buttons, once highlighted push camera button follow on screen instructions from there.
Good luck hopefully you will be running some 1.9.0 goodness soon.
I think you are doing something wrong buddy...
OK, you know to get into fastboot pressing the camera button and power button...
Wait at least 10 seconds after pressing fastboot mode on the Streak's screen before you plug the USB cable in from the computer...
NOW, you should have a folder on your PC (hopefully in the C: root to make it easier to find with the command prompt) named Fastboot, or StreakMod or Clockwork or something of that.
Inside that folder are several other files (fastboot.exe, some .bat files, some adb shell files, etc) that are needed to carry out the functions when you have your Streak connected.
Also within that folder you will place your recovery.img file, you can pick from StreakMod or from Clockwork (I prefer StreakMod) personally.
Now that you are connected, you type for instance in the command prompt window first to get to your folder "cd c:\"here goes the name of your folder"\
Then you type the command "fastboot flash -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img" without the quotation marks of course
You should then see on the screen of the Streak that it is doing something and also on your PC screen see that it is sending and writing the info to your Streak

Endless loop - no bootmenu

Hi
I tried to upgrade from Gingerbread to ICS by following this guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849744
I downloaded all the nessesary files and copied those to the sdcard. (I do not have a microCard)
I rebooted into recovery and chose wipe data/ and /cache.
The guide then tells to install the zip-file from sdcard.
But no file could be found, failed to mount SDcard it says in yellow text.
Rebooted, now I'm stuck in a bootloop. Can't even come into revocery or AP fastmode.
Please help.
I'm as you can tell a complete newbie in this.
Flash this with RSD lite

Thanks for the quick answer.
However I tried that file but RSD told me that my phone was not in AP Fastboot Mode.
RSD could open and parse the XML-file and RSD showed all the info from the ZIP-file.
How do I get into AP Fastboot mode, holding Vol Up and Vol Down and Power does not seem to work.
Am I doing something wrong here?

SOLVED - Endless loop - No bootmenu
Hi
This is now solved.
It came down to that I didn't press the correct combination to access the Boot Mode Selection menu.
Here are the correct combination for future reference, it may help someone.
How to Get into “Bootloader/Boot Mode Selection Mode”
You can hold down Volume Down, Volume Up, and Power button together until your phone resets, then let go of Power button then hold down Power button again. This is useful for entering the bootloader mode where you can get into various system menus like fastboot, SBF flash, stock recovery, and more.

OK, with testing I found a solution for the problem
Here the steps what i've done:
1. Load the Flyer with the power supply unit.
2. From PC Commandpromt. Start fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. I've get the message "waiting for devices". I've used a old CWM 4 reciovery Image
3. Now connect the Flyer and Start with "Power + Down". Here was the surprise that now the Bootloop stops and i see now the Boot Menu. So I change here to fastboot and flash the recovery Image new.
4 Rebbot now an voila bo boot more and I can use the normal cwm recovery mechanism to recovery one of my old images... Perfekt

Can't get into bootloader mode

Today I was trying to get into bootloader mode on my SGS3 to get CWM Recovery using SDK tools. But when I type "adb reboot bootloader" it boots into normal mode.
When I try the Vol. Down + Power button it takes me to Safe Mode.
Please help me!
EDIT: I tried to remove the SD Card because I read another thread where this worked, but no success.

There is no bootloader mode in S3 AFAIK. There is recovery, download and normal boot mode. Boot into download mode and flash the CWM recovery through odin. Hope this helps!
Thanks
I know it's a bit late, but thanks, it helped!

Hard brick of Z5C ... can I save it?

Well, I did it this time.
In a valiant attempt to install a custom ROM, I erased every partition using fastboot,
Code:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase cache
Now what I meant to do here was flash a recovery, using
Code:
//fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
but repeating this so many times over the last 48 hours, I did not do above and instead went quickly right into below,
Code:
fastboot reboot
The system rebooted as I told it to ... right into a black void of nothing. Now their is no 'recovery' image and no 'bootloader' image ... the phone is hard bricked, won't turn on at all, dead. I was so close to getting to the custom ROM! Is there any chance to get it back into recovery mode? or have I learned a $350 lesson?
Edit: Further research indicates it may be possible to force the system into fastboot using a USB jig. Has anyone tried this method?
Wondering why you used the fastboot erase command to begin with when all you needed to do was flash TWRP and format the partitions using it.
Did you try holding power button + volume up for five seconds to reboot? If that doesn't work, did you use a pin to hard reset the phone pressing the button next to the sim card tray? Lastly, try inserting a USB cable to the phone, press and hold the volume up or volume down button. If the led lights up and turns blue or green, you can use the flash tool to flash a stock rom and start from scratch.
