Hi guys, these are my stock device info, and I have just installed HSPL3 into my HD2, now it has a SPL of 2.08.HSPL. In awhile I am going to install radio 2.12.50.02_2.
OS: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM version: 1.66.707.1 (76641) WWE
ROM date: 01/12/10
Radio version: 2.07.51.22_2
Protocol version: 15.32.50.07U
SPL: 1.42.0000
One question I have is how I could revert both the radio and SPL back to stock? Apparently the ship rom for asia is like this: RUU_Leo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.66.707.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship
Does it mean the "stock" rom I had, wasnt actually stock? Sorry for my noob question, first day flashing (although I've been reading up abit, haven't really manage to get an answer to my question) =p Thanks!

just flash your stock rom from SD card and everything will back to stock.
The easiest way is connect your phone with ActiveSync and then run the stock Rom installer, it will flash all the stuff (spl, radio,Rom) to the version included in the stock installer.

Take a look at the USA HD2 General section there's a guy asking the same question that got some good advise.

no it won't, activesync flashing won't remove hspl.
either flash stock from sdcard
or
flash stock from usb then run hspl2 and choose your original spl.

when i flash stock, my radio would become 2.06.xx? because the one i had originally was 2.07.xx... based on shipped rom file name, seems that the radio that they have is 2.06.. and as for hspl2, i can use it even though i did hspl with hspl3?

yes, no problem.
The only real reason to flash back to a fully stock form is for a warranty service or return.

I think my problem is come from using the wrong version of pp changer 4.0.0.0 (not 6.0.0.0) (from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329276) with the Crystal V1 ROM
After that I can't install any program and even roll back to WM5 2.2
So I can't re-flash to any other version of ROM

Once 'HardSPL',it'll remain HardSPL till you remove it yourself and revert back to official wm5.In this situation you can flash any rom to your mobile without any further procedure, just download the rom of your choice, connect your phone with pc via usb cable and run the Ruu to flash.

I see. Does re-flashing rom again and again will affect battery life? I read some threads saying that you have to flash your mobile first with the original rom to avoid problems like fast battery draining. But Im not sure about this.
Thanks for the info zabardast_1... Very helpful.

Nopes! it doesn't effect the battery life by flashing again n again, but, just make sure you have a full charged battery before every flash,so that it doesn't fail to complete the rom flash, otherwise,it'll create problems.
No,its not essential to reflash official stock rom before any rom upgrade, its only recommended as through use of previous rom and installing or deleting some applications/programs,sometimes corrupts the Extended Rom included in the Rom and it may create some problems when new Rom is flashed, and its better to have a solid clean base to flash a new rom but it very seldom does. I have never reflashed back a official rom before any upgrade ever and have never had any problems, but well, thats me! just do your own thing.

YES YES !!!
Absolutely make sure,it doesn't include any IPL/SPL in it,otherwise,it'll 'BRICK' your phone. All the latest custom build wm6 Roms are safe for G4 devices as they don't have IPL/SPL in them
Good Luck !

you NEED to flash HSPL before you flash ROMs or RADIOS
I haven't seen a thread on this non of the guides either say anything about it. Just curious if your Hboot 1.5 and took that 2.17 update which was a software update and new radios.
Does that mean you still can use roms that were built or based off 2.08 was made off of or will you run into issue's.
Or do you have to stick around and wait for a rom to be based off the 2.17 update.
I know how to flash a kernel the right way and all just wonder about the older roms.
Thanks....

If you are rooted, yes. You flash any rom the same way, wipe everything and flash. Doesn't matter if you are flashing an older OS version or a newer one.

Pretty much correct except that hboot 1.5 users have to flash kernels via a different method.

I took the Jump last night so far no issues was just checking running virus ROM eternity . Anyways thanks.
So I'm currently using "CleanROM Professional Edition 4.3" (march 2012) and want to upgrade to a newer/better ROM, such as Infection 2.6, but afraid it will screw my phone up as I haven't messed around with it in over a year:
My current phone details:
Android version: 4.0.3
HTC Sense: 3.6
Kernel: 3.0.16 , baseband 1.22.10.0310r build 3.11.604.22
PRI Version: 1.16_002, 2.07_002
PRL Version: 15223
ERI Version: 5
Phone is S-ON with recovery RA-VIGOR-v3.13
What ROM do you guys recommend I update to from this, and how should I go about doing it? Do I need to update the firmware first, anything special I need to do from my current set up, etc...?

I'm definitely not a "developer guy" but you're probably gonna need to run the Global RUU to get the new radios/hboot and then you should be able to use the current ROMs. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong. Just like you, I haven't flashed a new ROM in a long time but I did get the "Leaked" Global RUU on my phone.

Did you do S-OFF? I tried flashing Rezound_Global_ICS_4.03.605.2_Full_RUU_PH98IMG but it didn't do anything. I renamed to PH98IMG and rebooted in boot loader, it found PH98IMG and the green progress bar completed, but nothing on my phone changed...

Personally, I think you should try to:
- RUU back to stock and get all of the latest updates
- achieve S-OFF using everyone's favorite wire trick
- Try out the Neo roms.
Personally, I'm on Tron 2.1, which is Jelly Bean, AOKP and PAC. It's really awesome (although it has some bugs). The Infection ROMs are great too.
I'm scared to mess with all of the HBOOT and radio nonsense. Better to start off with the latest stock, and then flash the ROM only.
You need to re lock bootloader before running RUU. But you can't get the latest Hboot or radios by running an RUU as there is not an RUU out yet.
