Hello guys
Today i got a update message in my notificationbar. I clicked on it and it says a new software update availble. But its can only installed with a pc (no OTA). I connect my phone with seus and seus said there are a new software avaible 141mb. Before the update i am on 026 with seus, and after the update still on 026.
Its 1th april today lol? Anybody the same update today recieved?

OP - i checked for updates myself today, i have nothing.
Im running R2BA026 Rooted if that helps.
nothing for me but i have had it do it to me last month saying there was an update and it just kept it on 026, PC Companion also does it sometimes too.

I updated. Can't tell any changes, still same Baseband and 026. Was flashed on generic SE Rom.

Looks like it, but it's older fw, so not sure you want to install it.

Settings > About Phone > Software update
Make sure you're connected to your wifi as the update will be 150mb or so.
Alternatively, you can download Sony Ericsson update Service SEUS and update it that way.
If there is no update available on your carrier then you should probably try debranding - although I'm not sure if it voids the warranty of the phone in your country.

Can`t someone here try to organize firmwares by release? I think this way would be very helpfull for all of us 10 asses
There is a thread that exists here which has all the firmwares according to countties written down...the 029 version u hav mentioned is the chinese or japanese rom...not sure which...just check...

Debranding is basically giving you a generic device rather than for example being on Orange, in which they have put apps on that they want, ( in my case it was traffic tv).
If you have a branded phone then you do not get updates as fast as a generic one

i used bin4rys flashtool to flash the nordic firmware onto my at&t x10a (it worked flawlessly btw) ive been seeing posts saying that because mine was originally an x10a i cant upgrade to 2.1 through pc companion. I also read that 2.1 will mess up my 3g, i have my 3g info written down and can manually put it in without any problems so would i still have a problem?

No, bin4ry says the radios are different and whatnot. You didn't read the other threads. Best to wait and let the devs take a look at the firmwares first rather than blindly flashing.
Go back to a legitimate x10a firmware and wait -- otherwise yes there is a possibility that you wont be able to upgrade through SEUS at all.
-.- well in a way this works out cause now i finally have "allow non market access" as an option. Soooo our best option is to wait for a flashtool for 2.1?

It does NOT. You can flash your phone with Nordic but you can NOT go anywhere from there on. Because SEUS will tell you that you have the latest FW and PCC says that can not download the file for you phone,

All developers know that, and I am still to find out. I bet there should be an instruction to do it with out debranding method whichdoesn't work anymore.

i have the x10flash but idk how to use it, i used the nordic flash bin4ry made yesterday and it bricked my cell, i reran it and it fixed my cell, but still i was s.o.o.l. because seus and pc companion wouldnt help, so idk what to do (yea i shouldve looked this stuff up before blindly flashing i know)

its branded singtel...not using any custom rom...just rooted it.
You don't have to unroot to upgrade....but when u upgrade you will lose root....which is easily solved using super one click.

Since you have already rooted, change your SI number to 1237-0334 which is Singapore Generic (unbranded). No operator crap and pure SE firmware.

i opened the default.prop
which values do i need to edit can u tell me?

edit: i went to build.prop in system folder and edited the above mentioned values
but its not working.
i also heard changing SI no longer works
I upgraded a few days ago to .435 and had to re-root but it was definitely worth it.
I used Super One Click to root and installed Busybox from market, Titanium Backup and Xrecovery. Worked like a charm.

When I try SEUS it will save my IMEI and save that my X10 is modded, right?
Also I've heart that SEUS will just update my bb when it's old.

if u have a rooted and modded phone, u won't be able to get the update. the only way for u to get the original SE update to 2.3.3 will be to plug the phone in to PC once the update is out, and choose the option "repair"- it will actually whipe your whole phone (including the system partition as well) and put the newest system available in- therefore, all user data is lost.
I know, I'll just flash it to stock with FlashTool then.

and yes, the system will be delivered with automatic update of baseband too, so no worries here.
flashtool or not- u'd have to go back to unmodified, unrooted stock- recently SE stopped the support for rooted phones (which I find kind of a stepback).
Uh, you know that you can make a backup via xrecovery right? Everything will be backup including your bb if I'm not mistaken.

Of course, but updates can be unrootable..
After removing the custom kernel I don't get the message anymore. (I think it was caused by bb .52)

bb are not included via xrecovery....if u restore u will get the same bb that u are
using before u restore....
