Sorry all i just received my shipping notices for the X and the Incredible. Should be in my hands by next Tuesday at the latest!
Its been real..but its time to upgrade!
So with that being said..The SoCal / TCP developments have been brought to a halt and we will no longer be producing any works for the Eris platform.
BUT we will be now working on Incredible ROMs

Lucky bastard =p my girlfriend has the Incredible and it's smooth as butter. 28mflops after the official 2.2 update.

enjoy the new phones!!! and thanks for your help with a bunch of stuff!

See ya SoCal. Lucky

Why didn't you just wait for the HTC Scorpion? Supposed to be like the EVO but with a dual core 1.5 gig processor! If the rumors are true, lol.

That's it. I am gonna run over my phone so I can get a new one. LOL.
Seriously, thanks for everything you contributed to the Eris.
Looking forward to seeing your new ventures.

Thanks SoCal!!!
You've been doing incredible work, so it is time to work on an Incredible!

Thank you for your contributions to this community.
You won't be forgotten. I'll see you in about a year and a half when I catch up!

New phone.

Getting a new phone in a few weeks and, while I love my eris and have for a while, I just want a new phone. Soo, I figured I'd ask my fellow eris owners what phone I should move on too. I was thinking either thunderbolt (it's 199.99 certified preowned) or dinc2 for 150.00. I want the charge but it's out of my budget. What do you guys think? I'd appreciate the help.
Sent from my EverVolv Eris using XDA Premium App
If you spend a lot of time in a 4G area, and you download/upload lots of data, the Thunderbolt may be best for you. If these factors are not important to you the Dinc 2 might be best.
Yeah, I'm thinking thunderbolt too. Thanks man. Thanks to all the devs here I had the best possible experience with my eris that I could imagine. Thanks especially to tazz whose roms were amazing and were the main ones that I used.

Bionic??
I am really leaning towards the Bionic. It is supposed to be out soon.
My area will have 4G by the end of the year and I can't see getting anything that isn't 4G capable. I have thought about the TB, but I am not sure I can live with the battery, the Charge is very expensive for what you get and the only other option is the LG Revolution. It is high on my list.
I am going to wait and see what happens with the Bionic over the next few weeks.

When does the bionic come out? And do you have any idea on the price range?
Sent from my EverVolv Eris using XDA Premium App
Rumor has it being released on Aug. 4th. I haven't seen anything on price, I expect it will be expensive
Lol thanks man. Now my choices have just expanded. Only problem with switching phones is losing these amazing developers here in the eris forums. Don't get me wrong I'm quite sure the developers for the other phones are great but it's just not the same lol

Personally, my contract is up in sept 15 and i don't plan on getting a 4g phone. I still think those phones have bugs and verizon keeps putting out updates to fix them. I will wait at least a year before i upgrade to 4g. I would probably go with incredible 2. Not sure if SGS II will be 4g or not. You could always wait for that.
Hanging on to my Eris for as long as possible.
I just upgraded from Eris to TBolt about a week ago. The plus one inch screen jump is a bit jarring but otherwise, I'm quite happy with my phone. (At least regarding development) the rom community is still pretty fractured with nothing quite as rock-solid as all the awesome Eris roms here but it's so incredibly active (I doubt it will be so for long... anxiously awaiting a CM7 update).
Anyway, phone-wise, I love my thunderbolt and the great build quality as long as the heft doesn't bother you. Battery life, the biggest complaint, is perfectly manageable and over stated. The rooting processing can be pretty intense but afterwards with a nice, new kernel it lasts a couple days no problem.

I thought the battery life thing could be fixed via rooting and you just proved it for me. I'll definitely put that into consideration when I go to verizon.

So happy rant!

I just wanted to say I finally made the jump to this phone yesterday and I couldn't be more happy! This is a beast of a phone.
My family and Wife get on me all the time because I buy so many but this one is a keeper for at least 6 months..lol
Also so happy that miui is finally a working rom I will flash that today and probably jump for joy!
Rant over, sitting at the car shop so I decided to indulge myself in some much needed conversation.. ha ha ha

I do donate so its a christmas that become a monthly expense, but I wouldnt know what to do with out this community!
If you check my post you will see in the last year I owned every high end android on sprint and now I will do the same with att....

Thank you devs!

I just picked up my new galaxy nexus and will be moving on. The eris will stay in circulation as a testing/kid device for some time to come. Thanks to workshed, conap, tazz, macrodroid, condemnedsoul, mongoosehelix, bftb0, and all the others i forgot for my introduction to developing and all the fun over the past 2 years. Hope to see some of you over on the nexii forum.

New phone

Hello people of XDA,
I have had my tbolt since release date and always loved it and never had any problems with it, the 2 years is up and I don't know what to do, I want to get a new phone but there's none that a really want, I'm still playing the waiting game for fully working ics on tbolt but, I'm sick of waiting, what do u people think I should, get a new phone, or wait to see what HTC suprises Verizon with?
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Shop around for what you're interested in.
I personally still love my tbolt and am not really interested in anything else yet either.
If you have unlimited data, I would stick with the tbolt for right now. Things should get more interesting once ICS is released and we get some new ROMs.

I'm gonna wait a little while, I still love my tbolt and have no problems keeping it but I'm really interested in what HTC will give Verizon next since sprint just got the stunning new evo, with a 4.7 inch screen and the dual core snapdragon processer, I hope we get something that good.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
True man. We will see.
My buddy has the HTC One X and that phone is pretty awesome. If only those things had a place for an SD card... and if Verizon carried them, of course. Lol.
Hopefully we get something good.

But my contract is up so i was asking u guys what u think i should do but, i think i have made my decision at this point and im gonna buy the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE tomorrow!

ViperBoy & Vinchenzop LTEvo Rally

Recently chatted with viperboy about him wanting, and eventually getting, the note 2. As you fellow LTEvo'ers can deduce, this means either dropping support of his amazing work with Viper4G due to selling LTEvo to afford the note 2 on a hard Workin college dood's salary, or simply continued development through a little of our help.
Basically, 30 x $10 = we keep viperboy's LTEvo in his hands still! Not only benefiting us followers, but also supporting the dood.
Just tryin to get a rally of support from everyone cuz I was bummed when I read he was trying to get the note2, assuming he'd be moving on past the LTEvo...
Don't forget about Vin too! Donate to him just because he's so awesome...
So, $5, $10, $20? Whatever you can afford will help keep these guy's around these parts at least a little longer, and personally I don't think $10 bucks is 1) unaffordable on anyone with a smartphones salary, and 2) that outrageous of a donation by any means.
P.S. If this isn't appropriate here by some XDA policy, ill make a page somewhere else.... But until then, let the donating begin!
Post a confirmation number, and be sure to put what you're donating for in the donation notes, I think that exists... Idk, I'm about to go donate to start things off!

Wow, just saw this. This was very very kind of you, sir! You guys are truely amazing! Just want to give everyone clear expectations... I am planning to get the Note 2 and sell my EVO, only because I can't afford to keep both. I kinda just like getting new phones but I do love my LTE. So selling my LTE allows me to keep living basically lol so long story short, I would spend $300 on the Note 2 and hope to get back close to $300 for my LTE. Weither I get $300 from selling the phone or donations, the numbers ate the bottom line.
If I do end up keeping the LTE, I would plan to still support it into JB. However, with Jan recently stepping down, it might take Vin and I some more time to get Tweaks working in JB as not everything is going to just port over. So please know that as well.
Either way this goes, I can't thank you all enough for the support you guys give us. I don't want anyone to see this as a plea for money or anything like that - its just simple math and I need to recoup my money in some way.
Again, thank you all for being a wonderful community and giving Vin and I the opportunity to share our work with you all. I would love to be able to continue working on this phone. Thanks again!

I haven't used the venom ROM for awhile, but in general I like this idea and like how straight viper was above. You and vin are good guys, thanks for all you do.
I have to run donations past the old ball and chain first, but something should be coming from me within the next pay period or so.

Just to update, thanks to all who donated recently. Between 4 people was $60, which is very nice. I really would like to keep the phone, so I'm getting rid of my old electronics as well to try and offset the cost. I didn't think I would get $300 from users, which that's ok still trying to make it work and keep the LTE.

Viper!! You guys are the reason I bought my LTEvo. I'm a little slim in the money department until about Friday, but if it means you doing what you do best, you best believe my hard earned cash will be a small contribution to what I call an awesome and mind blowing project.
In the end, my money will not be enough to say thank you for all your hard work you've done for this community of ours. So thank you.
-from a Sprint Technical Consultant.
I threw you a 20, but it was quite a while back. Haven't used your ROM, and really I just use AOSP, but still, am really appreciative of all your various contributions to this community. Hope you'll be able to stay. Thank you.
