So... I ran over my car charger... Its totally shot..so I figured I have done a few usb mods before..maybe I can turn it in to a back up USB to Micro USB...cracked it open..and it only has two wires and now I'm confused ha
Any help on how to take an old usb to usb mini and the broken car charger and make a working usb to micro usb?

Is there anything special about the usb cable that comes packaged with the vibrant? I bought some micro usb cables from amazon and they charge the phone just fine but they won't let my pc mount the sd cards. It seems like maybe there is something different about the data cable? Anyone else experience this?

nope, just a standard micro usb cable...
There are differences... Some cables only allow for charging, they have less pins on the connector. So you will have to find a cable that allows for data transferring as well.
Ah ok, thanks. The ones I bought were only $3, so I guess it's safe to assume they were charge only.

I bought 6 micro USB cables off of Ebay, 5 worked for both data and charging, 1 was a fail and only charges the phone. I'm sure it has a bad wire or solder connection, but at 99 cents and no shipping, who cares.
Try it with usb debugging off... Only way my nexus cable will work on the vibrant.
Is there any possibility to charge my tablet via micro usb?does Uruk-Droid have this option?is there any hack to make it possible?I'm going on a trip with the car for a few days and i thought i could charge the tablet with a car charger with usb output but i've seen that with micro usb cable via PC doesn't charge so...
No there is no way to archive that.
But there are usb to 3mm cable.
But what has this to do with development?

no you didn't understand my question.i have a car charger via usb like the one from the photo attached but the thing is i think it wont charge with the car charger + micro usb cable because it doesn't charge with the micro usb cable not even when it's plugged on PC, and i think that it doesn't do this because of the software limitations look at other devices from Archos or other brands
No, you didn't understand the answer.
There is no possibility to use the Micro USB for charging, PERIOT.

This would work.
Thread moved to proper forum.
No its not possible
(i hate this so much)
Is there any adapter for usb car charger that goes to the hole for charging of the Archos?
Have you even looked into the link i posted?
My dad's X10 is giving a strange charging problem.
Suddenly it stopped charging via official charger and with USB too but my X10 charges fine with the same charger so no problem in charger.
Now the strange part it that I had an old nokia usb wire lying around. To my surprise the phone charges properly using it via USB.
So what is the problem with? Only sending it for repair is the choice?
thanks
possibly the battery mate, or maybe a loose usb, the usb cables for x10's are crazy, iv been through 3 so far, they wont charge my phone, but they charge my wifes xperia mini pro sk17i no problem at all, i think there is a slight size difference between mine and her port and also check the "springy metal grabbers" on the micro usb which end you plug into phone lol hope this helps

I have two official chargers tried both. Doesnt work but my x10 charges fine lol
Try this...
Dude maybe the usb port of your dad's X10 is broken/damaged/loose. If the "tongue" inside the USB port is tilted down, try using a thin and small "negative" screwdriver to position the "tongue" of the USB port in the center of the port, maybe that could help in charging the USB. There's also another way, try using another usb cable, I've been using alot of cables for my X10, even use some nokia cables for it since it also has microUSB. If it still doesnt work, try using a universal charger where everytime you charge, you need to remove your battery off the X10 and insert it in the universal charger. Hope this helps.

Thats a good tip but take care with the universal battery chargers they kill batteries if left to charge too long

My phone didnt charging with USB anymore... 3 times ago i turned off the phone em plug USB and try to charge, it started the phone normally but no charging... And now, trying any method and any USB works
My usb was bricked??? There is a way to know about it?? Ah log or a app that shows if a hardware are working??
Or any solution???
is your computer recognizing the phone when you connect it ?
if it is and charging is not working means that the charging pins of usb might be broken
I think the inner pins of a usb cable are for charging , they might be damaged .
Try using another usb cable

Hey guys, just got a Mate 2, and i can't find the reverse charging cable in my country. From what i understand i can't use any normal male micro usb to male micro usb cable, it is a special "one way" one. Do you know any "compatible" one from another device, or the schematics to build one on my own?
On second thought, would it work, using a male usb to male micro usb adaptor with a OTG cable?
You can order it directly from Huawei which is what I did cheap works well and have used it on my s3 with the zero lemon 7500 mah battery to charge other devices as well.
Yes an otg cable will work.
