Change android email app with HTC app - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Right...
I am using the FRG33 build which has the stock Android email app. My archaic company (BP) exchange server 2003 wont work with it (SSL off or on). It wont work with Touchdown either. BUT - it will work with HTC's email app (used to run the HTC Desire build). God kows why it only works with HTC. I've found the HTC email app (it consists of 4 files - 2.apk files and 2.odex files). However, when I try to install either of the .apk files it just says 'application not installed.'
I'm sure this is possible and quite simple so if one of you fine intelligent chaps could guide me through how to replace the stock android (or add the HTC one) that would be splendid

Where can I find the product ID?
I have a legit question about this - When using Jeyo Mobile Extender 2.5, it seems to only sync SMS from within the last 12 months. Where do I find the setting for it to sync everything?
Thanks for any help offered

I found it to do the same thing, I've got SMSs dating back to over 2 years odd now and it only sync'd exactly a years worth from the date of first sync.
This was not an issue in the previous version I had.
I'm just looking at my SMS in Outlook and I've got text from Sept 07. I think I may have downloaded a later revised version sent to me by the company.
My current build is 1221 (version 2.5)
I'm using 2.5 1258
Actually does it actually sync them or just let you manage them? It hadn't taken the most recent ones either.
I clicked download SMS and it took every single one, from todays to the ones back in 2007. I've now cleared them from my phone, will sift through deleting ones I don't want and then I'll send them back up to the phone.
It the end, I'm sure they actually sync'd. In a previous build that I had, I copied those older than a year 'manually' but on Outlook all the dates read as June 2000 or something.
With the sync'ing issue in general, there can be problems with the 'JeyoSMSReceive.ini' file located under C:\Program Files\Jeyo\JME_WM\
Open the file up to see if the dates are current. This is my one:
Inbox=2009-03-19 16:53:22.000
"Sent Items"=2009-03-19 16:52:27.000
Drafts=2009-02-13 19:09:32.687
If the dates are not recent, then change them manually on the .ini to a previous date (e.g. yesterdays date). Try connecting again and it *should* auto sync.
I don't have a JeyoSMSReceive.ini ?
That's strange, I've used about 3 versions of JME and all of them had the file. It is the file that recognises when you last sync'd so it auto downloads new messages on the next connection
I'm guessing your SMSs don't automatically get downloaded?
Backup your SMS (i.e. to your phone; use PIM as an extra backup). Make sure you remove any Jeyo folder/files from program files (it tends to leave some behind). Then re-install the Jeyo app.
Manually creating an .ini on notepad may also do the trick. Although I'm not sure what the numbers after the Time in the file refer to.
EDIT:
Just found this post on a search too, it's says pretty much the same thing:

Jeyo Mobile Extender 2.5 1258
I use Jeyo Mobile Extender 2.5 (1258) with Blackstone and MS Outlook 2007 and have problems connecting from time to time. It also complains about the registration name not being the same as the one on the phone from time to time. (Could be a white space perhaps, but is definitely a bug). I've not found any pattern in the instabilities. There is little (or no) work being done to improve this utility. The idea of the utility is good, and there are not that many applications around that does the same. The utility seems a bit immature (beats me how it can be a v2.5...)
If any know of a better alternative, please let me know.

World of Warcraft Mobile Authenticator on Windows Mobile!

I have seen several posts on this but I think I found an awesome solution for this issue. Usually they involve the deathcoil method and the problem I always had was that jblend or midlet manager would not accept touch input. This one works GREAT and accepts touch so no more messing around... heres the goodies.
What you need:
1. the Battlenet Mobile Authenticator jar file (easily located on rapid share or other file sharing services)
2. Java FX 1.2 for Windows Mobile Found Here (http://javafx.com/downloads/windows.jsp)
Copy the jar/jad file wherever you want ( I have mine on my SD Card) then install Java FX and open the JAR file. - Register and DONE! works great!
Some Annoyances
-- The print is TINY but readable
-- You have to sync every time you run it
THATS IT! Maybe someone can figure out a way to fix it the syncing or add a sync button - Maybe even figure out how to make the fonts bigger.
I run this on my Rhodium, it may look better or worse on lower res devices. If you find the same package I did for the jar files I tried both the hi and low res ones and they both looked the same.
I'm porting the Windows .Net versions I wrote over to Windows Mobile. Aim to get it working in 6.x and then 7.x shortly after.
It can handle multiple authenticator codes, import of an Android key (I use it as a alternative to my phone), syncs with Battle.net, email backup and stores the secret key encrypted on your machine.
Best, it's open-source, so you can check what it does and feel safer.

As always, I still recommend a physical authenticator device or even a non-rooted/non-jailbroken phone. But this is better than nothing.
Do you have any idea where javaFX saves the db file with the authenticator codes i installed with the original guide but now the sync seems off so i cant login to my account anymore cause i cant sync. if i can replace the codes withing javafx i might be able to sync with that and login without contacting blizzard to remove the authenticator

On my device it puts it in \JavaFX\Java, in a file called "9004#token#Record#.db". The 9004 number is random, so could be anything, but look for a file with "token" in it. You can actually just read the serial and key straight out of it. No encryption.
I had added a Java key import into WinAuth and the Windows Mobile version, so you can copy it over.

Sorry i am a newbie.
what this is for ?
can i use this as a replacement of the real battle.net server ? i mean i am no need to connect online to play my game ?

Stock HTC (Sense) apps on AOSP builds?

So while I don't like the Sense launcher and the over abundance of... stuff. I have come to rather like the Sense Email app as it actually forwards email attachments where the AOSP Email does not.
I did a simple copy of an early Gingerbread HTC email apk and that didn't play nice at all could not install it with Root Explorer or adb (what few tricks I know).
Anyone have any tips?
Edit: Further learning (adb -d install blahblah), says that I'm missing a library, how can I find out what library I am missing?
Edit 2: Increased googlefu has found threads on other forums of XDA that says the Sense programs require the Sense frame work, so I basically need a De-Sensed Sense ROM as I prefer ADW by far for my launcher...
But I still hope someone has a solution for putting a Sense email client on AOSP ROMs.

Yeah..not possible. It's sad...I really like the Sense dialer (type numbers and contacts Names and numbers are searched). And yes, I know 3rd party apps exist that do this...but they're unattractive and buggy

[Q] Problems with Seven Beta and GS II

One of the reasons why I go Android over other OSs is due to Seven's support for an enterprise email app that works with a desktop redirector that works with Outlook. It works really well, and what it does is enable me not to need a BlackBerry for work. I can access personal and work email/calendars/etc., on one device w/o having to deal with corporate IT.
Unfortunately, the GS II comes with Media Hub, which as it turns out, was built by Seven. And it appears to have the same package ID as the email app that I use to access my work email & calendar! As a result, when I try to install the Seven app, it asks me if I want to upgrade the Media Hub. That's just not going to work. So, now I'm w/o one of the most important features of my smartphone.
Unfortunately, I cannot unload Media Hub. Any other ideas? Any other alternatives to Seven for corp. email w/desktop redirector?
Any info appreciated.
Jon
PS - I think that if I really wanted to, I could root the phone and uninstall the media hub. I'd just rather not have to do that if I don't have to.
I'm a complete noob at any apk stuff but could you pull the download of seven and recompile it yourself so it doesn't have the same id?
Just peeing in the wind...

I'm not saying you should do this but if you want, if you root your phone you could remove media hub
In fact it is one of the many apps I deleted in order to debloat my phone.

No extra folders on exchange, while Asus Transformer shows them

I have an Asus Transformer running ICS and a Samsung Galaxy SIII with (one of) the latest leaks (DLI5).
On both devices I have installed the same Exchange account which connects to my Zarafa server.
On both devices my mail is working and also Agenda.
But on my Asus I can see all folders that are configured inside my INBOX, but on my Samsung I can only see the standard ones (inbox, concepts, outbox & sent items).
Is this something that will change or something I can change with a mod?
I'm also on dli5 and the standard app is working fine for me.
Go into your mail, press inbox on top - in the drop down menu - you go down to the last item called all folders
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I have about 20 folders that are shown then on my Asus, but they don't appear when I follow the procedure you wrote and I already knew.
How many custom folders are shown on your Samsung?
I can of course install a third party application like Moxier, but there has to be a way to get my Samsung to do what it should.
I wish I knew which part exactly is to blame for this behavior.
BTW Asus has also a total different look and feel for its mail application, but this might be because it's a tablet.
I have 10 or so folders in my outlook account and they are all present on my Samsung
- my work uses a MS exchange server

Thanks for the info.
This has been bothering me for a long time. Because I'm not using a genuine exchange server, but this Linux replacement I didn't post anything before.
Because it's working as it should on my Asus I did make this post.
I'm now running the latest Samsung leak, which is a 4.2.1 android version. It's fixed now....
Finally I can see all the subfolders of my inbox. If I have an opportunity to test an old build I will check if it's not my Zarafa (or rather Zpush) that had a fix for this...
Anyhow.... it's working finally!!
Cheers
