No, WP7 is a restrictive new OS and a complete anathema to WM's purpose, having less functionality than an iPhone.
Someone may port WP7 so that it can be run on the HD2, however connection to Xbox live/zune etc may not be possible depending on how MS impliment it.
So if you want all that, get a WP7, or if you want something with a bit more functionality, just buy some duplo bricks and make your own (you'll also have more colours with that option).
Hello I was wondering if WM6.5 can be ran from the SD card and if so How do I do it I am using HTC HD2 running WP7 in Nand with MagLDR 1.12 I have Several Android Version I am Running. I am also Wondering if I can boot Ubuntu on it or if I lost that when I upgraded to WP7 Thx for any and all help

i really, really, really want this to happen so i can flash android thru nand and run wm6.5 from sd coz i still need my garmin xt from time to time.
Thanks for the post, and the replies. I was wondering the same thing. I've got a really smooth nand of android gingerbread and have only one reason that i need wm 6.5 back. The video recording. Unless someone can fix the instability of the 720p recording for android....

You realize that winmo6.5 can't do 720p recording either, right? The only OS that can do 720p recording right now on the HD2 is WP7... not sure if there's any issues with it... I haven't tried or tested yet.

Well, I feel pretty uneducated right now with the phone I've had for almost a year. Thanks for the correction. This of course creates a new set of questions. What is the HD2 w/ Windows Mobile 6.5's recording resolution? All I know is, and maybe it's the android rom i'm using, but the recording on my hd2 when it was stock is way better than the recording from the android rom. Now I'm curious if there is a way to fix my issue. I don't need 720p recording. Just the quality that a stock hd2 is capable of. Thanks again!

That´s exactly the reason i am hoping for a SD-WinMo build
I have switched over to Nand Android and do not want to miss it, but i do miss my TomTom with rather new maps for WinMo 6.5.
i too am interested on having the ginger 2.3 nand and on sd the wm 6.5 ( igo and camera quality better)
some new info about this ?
regards
I love to see WM6.5 run on SD card, I missied Tomtom on Window mobile. I have Navigon on HD2 android but TomTom still my favorites of all navigiation.
Patience is the key... running WM from a card poses many more problems and requires a lot more time/effort than getting android to run from a card....
IF, that's an if not a when, the DFT get this working then you wont be able to miss it don't worry

Yea, that's the reason I kept my WM6.5 as well
Is there a way to install WM6.5 and Android on the same internal NAND? and use a boot loader to choose? My Rafdroid SD build is soooo veeery slow and apparently the speed settings are already built in fast. takes about 5-10 seconds to respond to anything.

The only reason, why I´m still using windows mobile is, because I love windows myphone. It´s soo great. If you are flash the rom again of something fails, you can sync all the contacts, sms and so on.
Some days ago I recieved a mail from microsoft, that the windows mobile market place inclusive myphone will discontinued ...
The market place ends on 15th july and myphone on 7th august this year.
Very bad
But is the global, or in germany only?

I got the same notice here in the US. They are shutting it all down. I realize they are trying to push WM7, but it angers me that they don't maintain WM6 support for several years, like they did with XP.

Some reason for me, Garmin is best for me and I like to keep it. I am hoping one day Garmin will support Android.
I just tried Papago for Android, it is not as good as Garmin. Far behind!
Any new news? WinMob 6.5 on SD would be nice.

That is impossible. Windows 7 only runs in x86 and x64 processors, not ARM ones like in Sony Tablet S.
MAYBE it will be feasible to install Windows 8 RT in the future IF Sony unlocks the bootloader AND Microsoft allows instalation in non-sanctioned tablets.
(fat chance of any of them happening).
Still, I actually use Windows 7 in my Sony Tablet S every day. I use a program called Splashtop (special 5-min version for Sony in Google Play) that mirrors the screen of a Win7 machine. Works pretty well, I can even watch videos in it, close to real time.

As you alluded to, that is definitely NOT going to happen.
Microsoft have already stated that Windows 8 RT will not be publicly released, will only be available to OEMs and will not be backported to current hardware. Even if it was, drivers for the Sony's quite unique hardware set are definitely not going to be easily available.
Just to clear it up for everyone.

Hello I'd like to know if there will be any chance to make Windows RT run on our desired phone I love android, but I like the look of Windows phones and Win RT too.

You could try a windows launcher, have you tried Launcher 7?
Yes I have tried it but I'd like to have full win rt, if it can't be ported it's not a big problem, i just would like to try it

I think there will be always a desire to run others os app on the phone. Owners of windows phone will want to run android apps and owners of android will want to run win apps... I had a Diamond2 few years ago who has win 6.5 and I remebered I did many tries to run android 1.6 on it.
Oh well,
i can understand the curiosity, but hoping for ubuntu, firefox os would be far more realistic then windows phone. We hardly have the cm10.1, anything else is a dream for now.
but there is no wrong in wishing.
